    "I 100% agree! I've got a 2023 SE, my first bike. Clocking in 6000 miles in 4 months, I have zero complaints. This bike has been a blast, perfect for fun cruises or as a beginner bike. I flipped my mirrors under the handlebars and added the Musurri exhaust for the 500cc.
    The highway isn't too bad; the wind, especially crosswinds, poses the main challenge. Your video was great! Your detailed explanation resonated with my beginner experiences."

    Thank you for reviewing this bike!! I was between a ninja 400 and the rebel 500 for a first bike, but after watching this video, I guess it boils down to choosing either a cruiser or sportbike haha. The lawn mower exhaust comment made me smile!

      The ninja Z 400 is a little cramped I had to do major adjustments on the seat. I sat on a rebel and it feels comfortable that and the CB 500 F seems a little more comfortable and you can probably get one used for cheap. However, the little ninja is light and sharp handling

    Well well ! Looks like a good vid man. I bought a new 2023 Rebel 500 ABS SE in April of 23. I noticed some of the same feelings you had. I did follow the break in guidelines and at 600 miles I had Honda do the service. I ask for a full synthetic oil change. As I was leaving the dealership I noticed the engine performance change. The bike ran smoother and acceleration was a lot better. As the more miles I put the bike it just got better. I have no problem winding out all the gears on interstate on ramps. I did install a COFFMAN's shorty exhaust and that made a difference also. I left the DB killer installed.

      The dealer and I are working on our relationship for being able to take out sport bikes. They said we'd try some cruisers first, make our way into dual-sports, and eventually consider the sport bikes. Their insurance policy is weird about test rides on sport bikes, but ya boy Omni might be the exception if these videos net them some sales. 😁

    It really sounds like it is just a pleasant all round Jack-of-all-trades. Seems like it would fit well if you can only have one bike to do a little of everything or you can afford two, one being 'bullet proof' and the other being 'fun'.

    Thank you for this review. I'm looking at getting my first bike and im partial towards honda from driving cars. When I found out that the rebel is considered one of the best beginner bikes i was very intrigued. I'm short with short legs so the seat height was a huge plus for me as well. I'm sure i could probably get over the sound and the dash, because those were the only things that kind of turned me off during this.

The in-helmet microphone is tough to dial with wind noise and no gain control unless I go for an external recorder. I am actively looking for alternative helmet microphones that might work a bit better. Stay tuned for future videos to see how it plays out. 😄 Ride safe. 🤘

    Hey Omni Dide! Absolutely well said! Honda make good bikes but damn they’re so boring. When you eventually get the Hornet in the US, it’s a great, fast cheap bike but it looks so boring it looks the same as the CB500 so much I need to do a double take 🤦‍♂️ The 8S on the other hand looks different & looks quality😎

      I hope we get the Hornet. I want to get in the saddle of one to know what the 420 pound + 90HP package is all about. The 8S continues to show online as an excellent contender - even though it is heavier/lower power output than the Hornet, it seems most everyone says the engine/chassis combine beautifully for a very planted and compliant motorcycle.

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Hey, if you really want to take it slow at first, stick with your idea of a Rebel 250. Keep in mind though, the Rebel 500 will only go as fast as your throttle hand tells it to. With that, you won't be chasing more power as quickly either. But do what makes you comfortable! Thanks for watching and ride safe. 😎

      As another user mentioned, you may look a little wonky on the motorcycle given the super low seat height. Try to go for the Kawasaki Eliminator. Similar specs (and my personal pick for entry level cruiser) with the ability to modify your ergonomics at a dealership when bought new. Ask your local dealership about the ergo-fit center for the Eliminator and they should be able to get you set up.
      If the Eliminator still feels a bit small after you sit on it, try the Vulcan 650. Not much more in terms of price, and offers gobs more room for taller riders. All the best! Ride safe.

    This video confirms why you need to buy a new bike and not a demonstrator. With 1 mile on the clock he drove it hard straight away and then did a 0 - 60 hitting the rev limiter going through the gears. How can you review a brand new bike and comment on the brakes, engine, gearbox etc that all need time to bed in?
    Zero respect for someone's bike and a pointless review.

    • @Omni_Moto
      @Omni_Moto  Před 10 měsíci

      Oh Jesus Christ Ken, do I need to break out the fun-nazi siren just for you? This motorcycle has been sold to a new owner and they are LOVING it with ZERO problems. I rode it for 10 miles of its 500-mile break-in period. That's 2%!!! And guess what? The brakes, engine, gearbox, etc., are all doing great!
      What am I supposed to do? Keep it under 4,000 RPM so my viewers can suffer through a completely unrealistic review of a motorcycle they are considering purchasing for REAL-WORLD USE? Right.
      Your definition of "driving it hard" varies wildly from what mine is. You make it sound like I took it to a circuit track and didn't give it a second to warm up before going to 100% throttle the entire time. I drove it how it's meant to be driven. I didn't carry every shift to the red line except for my 0-60 test - which yes, I did hit the rev limiter, but I didn't hold it there for seconds on end. You make it sound like I held it wide open in neutral from a cold start and just let 'er eat. If you watched the video, you'd know that's not the case.
      10K+ views later with 99% positive comments... That doesn't sound like a pointless review to me, but clearly, our definitions vary across the board.
      With all due respect and all of the peace and love in the world, kindly get bent and pound sand. Ride safe, and thanks for watching. 😄
      Edit: After reflecting back 5 days later, perhaps I was a little harsh at the end of this comment, but I still stand by my methods and will continue to review this way.

      @@Omni_Moto You can try to justify reviewing a brand new bike all you like but it doesn't alter the fact that it's not the right thing to do.
      For a start everything is tight, the tyres are slippery and the brakes need to bed in. So how can be objective about the handling, brakes and engine performance? Then we get back to what fired you up, ignoring any running in procedure by red lining it through the gears, straight out of the box.
      I understand the dealer gave you the bike to review and probably couldn't give a toss how you treated it as long as it came back in one piece but I guarantee that any owner who carefully runs their new bikes/cars in would be pissed off big time if they saw their pride and joy being rung out when it was brand spankers. You certainly didn't do the new owner any favours in the long term, which is the whole point of the running in procedure.
      Try taking viewer's criticisms on board rather than reacting defensively. Even better try to understand where that came from and why I bothered to post.

      Apart from that I enjoyed the review.
