Hope you like this new channel and video! - Hudba
We had a hula concert last Saturday at our school, our keiki did a number and omg, it was emotional. Everyone was cheeehooo and whistling. Her voice is so beautiful.
Over several years, I've heard different versions of this song, but none - and I do mean NONE compare to Teresa's beautiful voice. Such a beautiful song..... thanks Teresa.
Truth
Amazing as to Hawaii's history of legendary stories being told and handed down to our Hawaiian people. Our kupuna and their na kupuna have also handed down stories to share with their children and mo'opuna. Hawaiian legends are endless and we are blessed to to be able to hear and read their stories. Our Hawaiian People - past and present - are very akamai. As one very appreciative of my Hawaiian heritage, I am happy that I, my family and friends live in Hawaii-very grateful and blessed. Can you imagine what life would be, had we lived elsewhere with all the pilikia happening around us. Aloha and Mahalo!
I was on Mauna Kea yesterday and this song popped into my head. I love us.
Same for me on the mauna three days ago. The mist from lilinoe was present. Very cold day. Love this mele kū kia’i mauna🔺🔺🔺🔺🔺
The most beautiful song ever made ❤
Today I was told by my guardian angel that a diety was calling out to me, Her name is Poli'ahu.
I also live in Hawaii. Born and raised.
But this song, I grew up adoring it.
I'm planning on making an alter for Poli'ahu soon.
Yes. The Goddess of Snow.
Wai maka o Poliahu
I ka `eha a ke aloha
Kaumaha i ka ha`alele
O Aiwohi kupua
Anuanu ka `iu kêhau
O Mauna Kea
A`ohe ana ipo aloha
E ho`o pumehana
Kau mai ka hali`a aloha
O ka wa mamua
Puolu ka wai o Nohi
Ku`u mehameha
He lei ko aloha
No ku`u kino
Pili poli hemo`ole
No na kau akau
Hui:
E ho`i mai (e ho`i mai)
E ku`u ipo
E ho`i mai (e ho`i mai)
E pili kâua
E ho`i mai (e ho`i mai `oe)
E ho`i mai `oe e, e
E ho`i mai `oe

This is my son's Robbie & Rusty Edwards' cousin Teresa Bright singing. Auntie Carol's daughter and Kanaina's sister. Beautiful song, Teresa. \ooo/
She does have a voice of an angel. We grew up and wen to school with her. My older sister was her classmate. Was always nice to hear her voice when we fly home to the islands.
We stand with the protectors.

Who is the male singer who sang this duet with her?

@Glenn Rozman the male voice is Theresa's cousin Del Beasley
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it. It is still in my top 5 Hawaiian songs ever.
I fell in love with this song a couple of months ago when a friend of my wife gave her a hula CD. Almost every morning when I go to work, I listen to this song over and over and over. I love Teresa's voice, soft, sweet and soothing.

Poli'ahu
Tears of Poliahu
in pain from love
saddened by the departure
of Aiwohi, the demi god
cold is the sacred dew
of Mauna Kea
having no one to love
and to make warm
fond recollections of love
of earlier times
refresh the water of Nohi
and my sadness
Your love is a lei
for my body
close to my breast
for ever

I love this song. Teresa has the voice of an angel. I wish she was more well known.
For all of you that don't know, the composer of this song is my cousin, kumu hula Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett. The performers are also my ohana(family), Teresa Bright(female vocals/cousin) and Del Beazley(male vocals/brother-in-law). And yes, the lyrics are wrong, but mahalo for trying.
Could you please correct the lyrics (translation) so we can have a better understanding? Mahalo nui loa!

This song is oh so nahi nahi. Hope I said it right, Miss aloha hula Kamuela Preformed this so lovely, I was in a trance. Poliahu....Mahalo very hard.
❤❤
If you used the expression "Voice of an Angel", this is the song it would bring to mind. I think (guessing) that's Manu Boyd singing behind her. It chokes me up a little every time I hear it. Not only is the singing just gorgeous, you know that she KNOWS what the words are saying. There are other (none quite so) pretty versions on CZcams, but they seem to merely mimic her version without really knowing what the lyrics mean... "Come to me that we may Pili".
Das Del Beazley singing.
❤️
love
I dig it
i thought E Ho'i Mai was the name of this song...lol i luv this song

Sorry about the reply from kaikerrk. That's my personal account.
I believe she is singing with Keali'i Reichel?
I believe it's Frank Kawaikapuokalani Hewett.
Hello! I have been looking for almost 20 years for a musical peace called "OFF SHORE", its an instrumental played with steel guitar.. I wonder if you know anything about it, I would appreciate any information of it, thank you and have a nice day.
Aloha Sincillico - the song "Off Shore" is indeed not easy to find; however - it was first recorded in 1953 by Leo Diamond and can be found on youtube. Santo and Johnny also recorded it as did many other great artists during the Tiki years of the 50's and early 60's (including Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman). If you're a jazz fan, Ray Bryant also did a really great job with this song in a 'midnight mood' kind of tempo, really nice. Les Elgart has a great version in Big Band fashion; and I THINK Jerry Byrd recorded Off Shore, but I'm not positive. There are more - many more - but this should get you started. Take care and God bless.
I hope you know the lyric captions needs editing.
will someone please upload the song endlessly from KANALO!!! Please
Please comment on my channel if this is a request!
