- We're excited to announce a brand new FREE tutorial featuring ultimate control over velocity by FX artist Gavin Thin, taught by the talented Andrew Sutherland!
Join Andrew Sutherland as he leads you through amazing RBD Simulation In Houdini.
In this initial tutorial, Gain unparalleled control over velocity in Houdini as we guide you through drawing velocities, integrating your logo, and unleashing your creativity. Follow along as we craft curves to prep velocities, build a dynamic pop sim, and transform it into a velocity field driving RBD simulations.

Great! Thank You very much, Andrew!
Yo this is so cool! Very nice 0:19
So cool ❤️
Thank you! Enjoy
Epic! THank you!
You are so welcome!
There is a problem with the uploaded hip file. Go straight from a to d
Great Tutorial !
When I run a simulation, I can't see the shape B&C and it stops at A and then goes straight to the D shape, why is this?
Thank you very much sir it is very informative can you make bird tutorial like how to create feathers and how to attached feathers to bird please❤❤❤❤
Thanks ! Can I open your project files with an apprentice version ? I am a complete beginner in Houdini, when I open a project file nothing appears in the preview window...
Why do you set the animated property to 1 or 0 before RBD simulation? The cubes weren't animated beforehand. And why you use transform pieces nodes to drive the model with points after the simulation is complete? If you directly use dopnet node, you can also make the cube move. I am confused about these two points
Каеф!!! Super
❤
It's really hard to keep up with the tutorial, many ambiguities.
🧠🙌🫠
Lots of mistakes
could you please point them out so we can learn?
@@bluesofblues not finished to watch but honestly I'm getting the same vibe. To start off, the whole velocity transfer could be done in a popvop directly inside the popnet, without using a sopsolver just to get the circle velocity. Not judging the instructor skills but I suppose that's the problem when you have to create tutorial on a scene that somebody else created.
@@ezpepz POPVop, thanks for that. Found out how to use it in this context and it's much more elegant.
@@anglereserve beside elegance, something superweird happened to me. With that setup, the simulation would crash (only when caching the file sequence), but only on houdini 20 (19.5 all good), and I honestly didn't figured it out why....
@@ezpepz thank you!
