  • In this video I've gone into the history of Dragonspine mountain and the people that lived there thousands of years ago. I go into the links they have to Celestia, the Abyss, Khaenri'ah and Shneznaya as well as the Irminsul trees that grow in the deepest depths of the earth.

    I'll leave my resources here if you want to dig a little deeper (there is still a lot of lore to Dragonspine to be found, this video is mainly focused on the nation that lived there.)

    This one took a while to make so I think I'll try something a little lighter for the next video hahaha, though I've gone down the rabbit hole of trying to find out more about the fox goddess in the Retracing Bolide set and Heart's Desire books. Let me know if you find any other lore that she appears in!

    After the latest story, the origin of the ruin guards and the reason why they got that cryptic message about failing to defend their nation while discovering them in dragonspine was actually the nation of khanrieah not dragonspine ( they were spread out all ove rthe world, and the ruin guards in dragonspine might come from khaenriah ), we can safely assume that dragonspine's civilization doesnt have access to ruin guard tech yet ( OR they have but just a different design, you knkw the ruin graders that's unique to dragonspine ) and they're 500 years old atleast. I already watched this video weeks ago, I just want to comment here and have your thoughts and theories with the fresh information we recently got. I'm pretty hyped on your next video

      Mm there's a lot to unpack isn't there. I stayed up late editing and especially for the quest so I wouldn't be spoiled this morning but I'm half-dead today haha. Yeah it seems like the Ruin Guards were invented in Khaenri'ah so the Ruin Graders being present in Dragonspine is rather strange as the technology is pretty similar. I think maybe that the blueprints came from the Abyss and that's why the Guards and Graders are similar but not the same. I'm working on my next video atm and I've got a few things to add in at the end as it sort of involves Khaenri'ah anyway but the video's really long so it's taking me a while to edit haha. Hopefully I can get it finished today.

    Im not really an open world player, but the lore and world building of this game is so immersive. The entire lore is basically just a huge disagreement betwern mortals and omnipotent beings, but you cant help but be torn betwern rooting for the Abyss because they display more humanity than unnamed gods and Celestia because they once did share a direct, non conflicting relationship with them before.

    It's weird how we as travelers are just put against the abyss and fatui as enemies to fight and defeat again and again in quests or whatever like it's funny what if the lost twin and tsaritsa are actually the right ones to challenge Celestia since the two archon we've met yet didn't really mind giving up their gnoses (except venti who resisted a bit but was cool later) it seems like the traveler mc is merely an errand runner being kept out of a huge thing everyone else in power seems to know of already

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  Před 3 lety +52

      Yeah I think Celestia are going to be our enemies too. Nuking cities with giant pillars isn't cool in my book and I think they've become corrupted somehow. It's only a few threads but Venti talking about Vannessa in the manga was the biggest hint for me that something isn't right there.

      @@TheLaughingManLore yeah they seem to have been corrupted and in the manga the whole thing about Celestia drawing closer feels pretty sus. What did venti exactly say that makes you think so? @@pain-tf2lp It's the part where the Traveler asks about Celestia, it's more of a view of what happened to Vannessa as she arrived and him saying that the food and water there is rotten in his voicelines. When she enters through the gates there, it's obscured by light but the pillar in the middle looks like it has some abyss sort of stuff growing on the bottom of it. Could be that Celestia is rotting away/influenced by the Abyssal infection.

      @@TheLaughingManLore this might be in venti voice lines ig lol idk I dont have him but that's interesting to know. Also Celestia could either be poisoned cuz of abyss or also be somewhat by itself as of how it opposes any tech development by humans and it's just a speculation but why would all of teyvat be blessed by all sort of crytals and elements that are easily feasible to all people, even the twps which have always been there but people just ignore. I kinda feel like Celestia wants to keep that knowledge from people of teyvat as Celestia itself isn't some grandeur of godhood and heaven shit but just something like abyss order itself to suppress advanced development. The traveler would be enemies to Celestia since they've made use of all ancient technology that present people don't find any use of so thats basically challenging the celestial authority. I might just be rambling with my thoughts everywhere lol I'm sorry if I couldn't explain better

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  Před 3 lety +10

      That makes sense and I know what you're getting at, it seems like as long as people are using elements and powers that fall under their control, everything is good. They seem scared of anything outside of their authority though as you say. There was a big war in the past (pre-archon war) that involved the moons (which I think were/represented the first gods of Teyvat) being destroyed so whoever (my guess is Celestia) won that war took their place as the new gods and imposed their will upon the people. Can't wait until we do a Jade Chamber #2 with our Traveler and bring that place down haha.

      The cycle of humanity rising and then being struck down for becoming too smart and powerful is a common theme in honkai. What you can guess at is through what we do know so far is it may be connected to the Will of the Honkai. As it is the only being in creation that transcends and exists everywhere on the imaginary tree's branches and its deepest roots. Teyvat being a world on the tree presumably. Thus the whole cycle seems connected to the will of the honkai. As its will and nature effects even teyvat. Always bringing down humanity at its highest completely wiping the world. With humans always returning to the same state again only to be struck down in repeat. Every time technology becomes too powerful and great with humanity the will of the honkai enacts its will against them.

    Could Dainslief be the old King from Sal? "I will always remember how *she* too, loved these flowers." Could mean the princess? Perhaps he was a hero she tasked to save them all. @TheLaughingManLore  Před 3 lety +12

      Hmm maybe but I'd lean towards it being unlikely. The hero she tasked was named Imunlaukr and he founded Mondstadt with the other noble families like the Gunnhildrs so I don't think that was Dainsleif - he seems to be born in Khaenri'ah as far as I can tell with his eyes being the same as Kaeya's. @@TheLaughingManLore ahaha yep! Here's my theory that somewhat relates to this but focuses more on dainsleif and the story etc
      Dainsleif/khaenriah/ds/celestia/curse
      recently I've been thinking about dainsleif being a half celestian being. Here's my pitch, he could be albedos master, he ascended to celestia and gained many powers but for some reason celestia abandoned him.
      I don't wanna make this too long but maybe he wanted to help the people of dragonspine rise against celestia, celestia destryed the people of dtagonspine and cursed dainsleif, the reason dainsleif is biased against celestia despite ascending was because of the treatment of//
      Khaen'riah, I believe the khaenrians were cursed, their pretty designed eyes are a mark of their nationality but their one covered eye might be a curse, this curse may be new, maybe after dainsleif was banished and punished his entire clan was punish too, maybe khaenriah is
      Old dragonspine, the survivors of dragonspine migrated to khaenriah, the land of no gods for safety after being cursed and have a hatred for the divine. I Believe he could also be the master albedo is looking for but it might be far fetch I also believe this is why finding dainsleif will be the key to our story in fighting the unknown god, because the god and dainsleif have opposite views, the tsaritsa may have been inspired by dainsleif and plans to revolt against celestia As we heard from venti many of the archons don't seem to pay too much attention to celestia, maybe they are angered that celestia allowed the archon war and many sacrifices were made, the unknown god is probably one of the celestial beings and that means she knows dainsleif .

      @TheLaughingManLore  Před 3 lety +4

      @@pewdiecookie2136 Hmm I think you might be on to something with him being more closely related to Celestia than we might think. He could be the other heir in the Battle Pass cutscene with the Unknown God being the first heir that was corrupted. I might be wrong but I think Albedo's master was named Rhinedottir and was a female so I don't think Dainsleif could've been linked to him in that sense, more likely he knows of the khemia alchemy Albedo uses because it was created in Khaenri'ah and was the same as Gold used to bring about the curse of the people (indirectly or not). I think Rhinedottir was Gold's assistant or second in command like Sucrose is to Albedo.
      The eyes are a strange one and there's definitely got to be more lore to come out to explain why they're so different. I think the curse was a punishment too, I'm not sure if I mentioned it in my Dainsleif lore video but I think perhaps he was the hero-king of Khaenri'ah and Gold, the chief alchemist was conducting experiments to discover a power to rival the gods, which the gods were insulted by and so cursed Khaenri'ah's people with whatever the Abyss infection is that changes them into monsters. I think it transforms most people but those with "excellent blood" in Kaeya's case are able to resist the curse (maybe it just manifests in one eye for him).
      I hadn't thought about the Tsaritsa interacting with Dainsleif but that's a really interesting idea, maybe she respected his bravery during Khaenri'ah's destruction. Yeah that's what I think, Celestia probably forced the archons to destroy Khaenri'ah too. I see the archons as reluctant prison guards who take up the role because they fear anyone else with bad intentions presiding over the people of their region. What are your thoughts on the false sky btw? I think to begin with Teyvat was created to keep the people safe from the rest of the universe (possibly honkai/abyss) but it has since become a prison as Celestia has degraded.

      Now, considering that dainsleif being an ex or then celestial being helped dragonspine, earned them the curse and descended as a fallen being and decided to create a 'land w/o gods' which I percieve to be khaenriah, where the eyes do not reach of celestia then that means he is an ancient khaenrian. (This is all very messy honestly in terms of timeline I may contradict myself) but I do believe that the unknown goddess and dainsleif are rivals in sense of ambition, thus they are the closest to being the heirs. Dainsleif cares about humanity whereas the goddess despises humans, and thus dainsleif may be the reason the tsaritsa knows a secure plan to breach celestia if we consider this dainsleifs second attempt to overthrow celestia (using dragonspine before) since she cares about her nation and wants to stop the cyclical destruction celestia bestows on teyvat.
      The false sky isn't something I've dwelled on alot but it's very very probable that teyvat is one of the only places celestia has power over, as the siblings travelled freely until they came across this world which comdemned them for breaching and entrapped them, if we do beleive the gnostic hymn and heir theory then celestia is the shadow kingdom no? That means dainsleif quest is to overthrow that realm and search for the pearl, the overthrowing of celestia may reveal the teue nature of their world, teyvat may be able to learn the secrets khaenriah uses and the power to control energy without visions, because outlanders outside of teyvat don't require visions, hence that is a control of the land under the false sky. I believe dainsleifs true aim is to expose the false sky and thus free the first heir from the 'shadows' and the tsaritsa merely wants to fight for her kingdom and prevent their own entrapment. Because I also don't like to beleive she is doing all this in a big bad plan, the other sibling could also be a side factor in dainsleifs plan, maybe even his one key as they seem to be very powerful, I'm hoping the other sibling actually is the one to recieve all the gnosis... Just to see what power they'd get
      Anyway pspspsps The khaenrians have too many secrets I wanna explore it so so bad

      @@pewdiecookie2136 Oh yeah he definitely does, khemia is life-giving but if it's corrupted by the abyss it seems to be infection-spreading. Maybe there's a delicate balance that needs to be kept and Albedo not knowing this could accidently trigger whatever happened to Khaenri'ah again. It could even be why the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles appeared - to keep the balance by either destroying or cursing those who mess with these powers. That's got me thinking, I bet the divine/gods wouldn't appreciate one of their own giving their knowledge to humanity and with how Mihoyo like their ancient mythology, khemia could have been like the fire Prometheus took from the Greek gods to share with humanity and was subsequently punished for. It'd definitely make him want to create a nation like Khaenri'ah to keep away from the god's sight. The Unknown God being his opposite does make sense, even the colour schemes are opposite with her being mainly white/red and him being black/blue and she clearly has opposing beliefs to him as you've said. I agree the Tsaritsa has some knowledge that her nation is coming under fire next and Dainsleif sharing some knowledge with her lines up with that as he has a lot of past experience with them, if what we're speculating is true. I wonder about the previous archons too as Zongli/Venti are the only originals, the Tsaritsa could've found out that she was just as disposable as humanity to the divine. I have an inkling that Celestia killed the previous Dendro archon because he refused to destroy Khaenri'ah or shared knowledge with them that he wasn't supposed to so that could have opened her eyes to their true nature.
      Huh, I hadn't considered that but it makes a lot of sense. With how the archons are all named after demons and all the Gnosticism referenced, it'd make sense that Celestia was the shadow kingdom masquerading as divinity. So the Unknown God would be under the spell of Celestia and possibly used as their most powerful weapon. That's really got my mind going haha, thanks! Yeah the Tsaritsa seems misunderstood with her shouldering the World's burdens mentioned in the cryo gemstone and everyone outside of Shneznaya thinking she's evil. I've got a feeling the gnosis aren't going to be as useful for her as she thinks though. If their power comes from Celestia, surely they could just cut off the source and make them as useless as an empty vision? Would love to see the other twin get that massive power-up though, I can just imagine the cutscene now.
      Hahaha yeah that place is probably the most interesting place in Teyvat atm and it looks like we're not going to be visiting for at least a few years, seeing as we're not even in Inazuma yet. :/ I hope Varka shows up soon (I have a suspicion it'll be at Ludi Harpastum this year) because he's going to be dropping lore hints all over the place about Khaenri'ah. I just hope they don't go down the route of "it was so bad Varka won't share anything about it with you" haha.

    Celestia hate knowledge and reason (which made them curious and think critically if their current state of prosperity will last forever) that was given to the kingdom and people in what was now dragonspine causing some entities residing there to take drastic actions. Venti might also took part in keeping this secret since when he/she became the Anemo Archon, the snowstorms plaguing Mondstadt were removed by the winds but not in Dragonspine there along with Durin's corpse served as a warning and a sort of keep out sign to humans who are curious on what was there which might be the reason why Venti (Barbatos) feels uncomfortable talking about Celestia.
    Now as for the cycle that was written by the last Priest-King, my question is where is the current Teyvat in that CYCLE? In the beginning, middle or at the end?

    • @TheLaughingManLore
      @TheLaughingManLore  Před 3 lety +2

      Celestia don't seem to want humans to attain too much knowledge for some reason and only hand it out to those they deem worthy through the "gnosis" which just means knowledge in Latin so I agree. I think they're scared that their rule will be overthrown if humans find out too much. That's a pretty intriguing idea about Venti, I have a feeling Celestia may have given him the order to leave Dragonspine alone, it definitely seems to be a cautionary tale for those that may have high aspirations like those of Dragonspine in the future.
      Hmm! That would be interesting to know. There may be little hints to help us figure it out as in one quote the Tsaritsa says something to the effect of burning away the old world which could hint that Teyvat is currently in the ice stage preceding the age of fire. Though I'm sure there are other hints that may point towards it being another age that I can't think of atm.

If they were handed out by Celestia, surely they aren't more powerful than whatever powers Celestia already have, even when all put together. They're all about control and I doubt they'd give others that chance to usurp them, however small.
      I can just foresee a time in the future where the Tsaritsa is all amped up on her multiple gnoses and Celestia do the classic *finger snap* move and shatter them all with ease.
