  • Having trouble finding wildlife to photograph? This is a problem that we've all faced before, possibly the biggest challenge when it comes to wildlife photography. How do you get pictures if there's nothing to photograph? This week, I'll take you along with me as I pass through an area that I haven't been in for quite a few months now. We'll scout the area out and I'll show you how to find wildlife when visiting a brand new area, passing through an unfamiliar landscape or just returning to a place you haven't been to for a while.
These are techniques that you can use in just about any terrain to find wildlife. At the end of the video, we'll look at all the results from our scouting and just how much opportunity there is out there to photograph wildlife. Be sure to check the screen for tips as well, I have so much I want to share this week that I'll have many of the tips and techniques for finding wildlife written on the screen.

Thank you, Stefan! It's good to be home and I'm excited to get back out with some of these local species (Dippers included 😁)

Thanks a bunch, Brandt! That Raccoon was a fun find, definitely wasn't expecting that. I've gone back a couple times since and he really seems to like that tree cavity.

Thank you, Keith, couldn't agree with you more! Once we're familiar with the local wildlife close to home, it can be hard to beat and we can have some amazing experiences because we're so familiar with them. Have a wonderful week my friend!

I couldn't agree more. Some of my most memorable wildlife encounters have been within an hour or two of my home

Most wildlife photographers don't have that kinda money to travel all over the country. I'm just an unemployed wildlife photographer who can only get photos in my local area. Mabey one day I'll be rich enough to travel.

I totally get it, I live on a very tight budget, luckily for me Florida and California are some of the cheapest areas to visit. Camping everywhere I go also helps cut costs like crazy. Even so, the local wildlife is often the best to photograph anyways because we can become more easily familiar with it. Thanks for the input!
