My home has been like a storage unit - full of things being saved for "one day in the future." I have been decluttering for years, but I never stopped bringing in "nice things" to replace them. In March 2022, I decided to start the "traditional" minimalist challenge (one item on day one, ten items on day ten, etc.). I took a photo for each day of all the items to document my progress, remind me of things I had removed, and to give me the motivation to carry on. By the time I got to day 14 or so, I found it harder to make decisions about what items to remove. I decided to just take my time. It took me 6 months to complete the "30 day" challenge. 🤣😆The end result was that I had a little more room on my shelves and in my drawers. It was amazing to me that after letting go of 465 items, I didn't notice more of a significant difference! I recently started a second round of this same challenge. I am now on day 15. This time, something clicked for me, and it's been easier to make decisions and let go of things I don't need, and I'm moving along at a faster pace. Perhaps it was all the prior practice and realizing I didn't miss anything that had left my house. I have also found a very good nonprofit to donate to that provides assistance to local kids who are aging out of the foster care system, so I have decided to give rather than sell many of my higher priced items and not feel guilty about the initial purchase price. Your insights and thoughts about minimalism and intentional living have also encouraged me in the process. 😊 This challenge, especially this second round, has kept me on track like no other method or process of decluttering! I recommend it!
I think since the beginning of my decluttering, I may have done about ten to twenty full rounds of going through everything in the entire home. I have done the game itself two times prior. I think now for myself I’ve learnt to keep things in constant check. So every couple of months a declutter check is just something in my routine now. I walk from room to room just visually checking. As I now have so few things, I can just see into my cupboards or storage baskets easily. Thank you for your comments and input and they obviously give motivation and input to everyone else reading too 😊.
@@SagelifeMinimalism It sounds like I'm in good company with this experience of going through several major rounds of the decluttering process! I was a bit embarrassed to admit that I didn't notice a big difference after ridding my home of the first 465 items (plus all that I have given away when I wasn't counting prior to the challenge). I'm sure I'll have to do a few more of these challenges before I get to a point where it will just be a matter of maintenance. In the meantime, I'll be patient, take my time, and declutter mindfully. Thank you for the inspiration in your videos! 😊
Yes! This month was my first 30 day minimalism challenge. I didn’t think I’d have 465 things to get rid of. But tomorrow is my last day and I’m surprised how easy it has been. I think it’s really built my decluttering muscles.
Yes I’ve done the minimalist game in every location and home we’ve lived in. I even told my hubby about it while we were first dating. It helps us refresh. Now we’re expecting a little one and I’m considering doing it again because since our move to this new location #militaryfamily - I feel like we haven’t caught up with pairing down the excess. Thanks for the motivation.
I do have it planned in a few weeks because I too thought it would be interesting to see how many items I also share 😊 Got a very long video coming up next week too 😅 it’s taking some editing 💻 but I do enjoy it 😊
Yes, in the beginning I explained how the extreme minimalist version of the game only sees the player of the declutter challenge, get rid of 1 item per day. As obviously the regular minimalism game outcome is decluttering 465 items in total. However as an extreme minimalist I do not even own this many possessions to begin with. 😊
Have you tried the minimalist game? Minimalism challenge? Did you enjoy it?
You still never cease to amaze me! This was a fun one to watch!
Thank you 😊 I’m glad you liked it ☺️

Great 😊 🙌
It allways blow my mind how much we still have
I know clutter can creep up on us all 😊
I think the way you played the minimalist game is a much gentler way to declutter.
Thank you very much 😊

Thank you too for commenting. Glad to hear of the constant decluttering, as it is a constant battle isn’t it 😊.
Ok I just subscribed. ❤
Thank you yeahhhh 😊
Great video 📹
Thank you 😊
I'd be interested in the total number of items in you apartment, if you can be bothered to count it😅

I'm confused you only seem to add one item to get rid of everyday
