To all the cat owners out there I would like to let you know that this worked on my cat. His case looked pretty bad although he never stopped eating he was starting to let his grooming go because it must have hurt. I bought the profolis, sovereign silver, licorice root, coconut oil and fish oil. The fish oil i bought the topper. He is not agreeable like Murrey! He hates when I put this stuff on him and so I can only do something on him twice a day. I take turns between the 4 meds and his condition has improved drastically. His mouth is not red, there's no bleeding or drooling and he is grooming himself again. Sometimes his tongue sticks out a little bit but there's a vast difference so thank you so much Dr. You saved me $4,000.00 and my cat gets to keep his teeth!

My husband and I fell a$$ backward into being colony managers. Ppl were moving or dying and leaving their felines that gravitated to us finding love food and shelter and that is all we can afford being on a fixed income...we will manage to gratefully get what you have listed. I cannot thank you enough for these options. We love our furbabies and want to give them the best possible lives.

I just adopted a cat that was found outside in my previous neighborhood and took her to the vet right away. They said she likely has stomatitis. She is guessed to be two years old and fixed so probably had a home once. She will not let me get near her gums. Scratched me when I tried but was so grateful for the wet food. The last person who fostered her had dry food and she wasn’t eating.
I put the propolis into her food, the same spray you use in the video. Just started last night. I also ordered a spray that is a mix of a few of the ingredients you listed. That should be here next week and I’ll come back and update.

Update: These suggestions have helped my cat until I can get his teeth cleaned. Thank you!!
Also, this Veterinarian I started shadowing under recently looked at me crazy when I told him what I was doing to treat my cats stomatitis. He was adamant that the only way was extraction of every tooth except the canines. It kinda made me uncomfortable. I don't doubt that he's a good Dr. but I do think people should be more open minded like you. I didn't argue with the man, I just stayed quiet. They say to pick your battles.

Just got back from the vet and my 3 year old got diagnosed with Stomatitis. The vet referred me to a dental specialist to begin the process of extracting all of her teeth. It sounds so extreme to immediately jump to surgery, spend around $4k and then my cat to no longer have teeth... Going to try these remedies in the video. Thank you for sharing these.

Ive had two diagnosis but since we asked first for pain med plus steroids she's gone back to eating no bleeding yet and is still great at cleaning her fur nicely. What I'm being told is I have to do total extraction high cost 1,900 to 3,400 ! Outrageous and I'm on SSI I have no money am a senior but both Clinics want slot to remove teeth without asking me how she's doing with steroid shots . What do you recommend I'm lost trying to understand stomatitus if a cat can do without teeth removal ? She's 4 a rescue cat that last yr began having issues . I started rubbing the coconut oil on my cats gums and noticed his bad breath was gone also and it did help with the inflamed gums. CO is antibacterial so it helps. I also started to put special mix of diatomaceous earth to his food with some probiotics. Its funny you mentioned the bee propolis as i got that too, it’s the one for children. Best to put both CO and the propolis at night so they won’t be eating and that’s probably also when the bacteria builds up in their mouth.

My cats going in weds to have most of his teeth removed due to stomatitis. They didn’t want to put him under anaesthetic because he has an irregular heartbeat and don’t think he will survive the anaesthetic, but it’s got to the point where it’s try and remove the teeth or put him to sleep. He’s in too much pain now and has lost a lot of weight. I think he has other things going on as well but to find out they would need to sedate him and made out he wouldn’t survive being sedated either, so I said no, as they’d told me they were surprised he was still alive with his heart irregularity. That was two years ago and he’s still here, if I’d known he was going to last this much longer I’d have gone ahead with the tests. As it’s the PDSA I have no choice but to take their advice as I can’t afford a private vets. I rescued him off the street so I didn’t purposely go and buy a cat, he just wouldn’t leave 😜 I don’t think they have your pets best interest at heart though and more, how much is it going to cost to treat them, and quite often they will just tell you to put them to sleep (happened with my cat, and a friends dog, they also didn’t treat my last cat for thyroid issues until it was too late, even though I’d taken him in 3 years before with the problems he was having)
I just hope he gets through the op and recovers well, but tbh I’m preparing myself for the worst and don’t expect him to get through it 😢 if he does it will be a bonus. As I say, it’s that or put him to sleep. So either way I’d lose him.
They’ve said they will remove as many teeth as possible in the time frame they have, and will do the worst ones first, and then move on to the others, but they probably won’t be able to remove them all and won’t be able to do X-rays to make sure they’ve got all the roots etc. I’m paranoid they will just put him to sleep and say he crashed on the table. They’ve told me to put him to sleep twice now, so they obviously think he’s a lost cause 😏
If he survives I’ll be looking into these treatments and see if any of them help his mouth heal up quicker. His is quite advanced now so I don’t think these on their own would help.
      Sorry for the essay.

@@KISEMA02 hi, thanks for asking, phew, that was quite an essay I wrote wasn’t it 😆 the tooth removal went well, they removed 6 teeth and he had 3 left. I think one of those was a root that they couldn’t get though. His mouth did improve a lot afterwards, and he carried on having the steroid jabs which help. But he is in end stage heart failure now, so I’ve been taking it day by day on whether to have him put to sleep. He’s not doing great now, but is still eating/drinking etc. his next vet appointment is on sept 11th but I don’t think he will make it that far. I’ve been saying that since Easter though so maybe he will surprise me. I’m surprised he’s lasted as long as he has.

It makes me feel like such a failure i dont have the resources to have him get proper dental treatment. He has a tooth poking into his lip from swelling. He hasnt stopped eating but hes getting more reluctant it seems. He lets me brush his tooth and clean the infection around it. You can clearly see his tooth is rotting away from the base of his gum. • @benton-benton

@@thisorthat7626 No I don't blend his food. He won't even eat baby food. He eats Sheba tuna cuts, Purina sensitive skin and stomach (dry) and 1 boiled chicken finger breast meat every day. I chop everything into miniscule pieces except the dry food (Purina) and put broth on his ground up chicken breast. Did your cat have his teeth taken out? Or are you trying another way, like what Dr Jones said? After my cat had his teeth taken out, I got him fresh salmon and cooked it for him every day. But even though I picked out all the bones, I worried about bones, so I switched him to the breast meat chicken finger. I think your cat will lead you to what he will eat. As you know, it's so hard with stomatitis to figure out what to do. I was worried he'd have a hard time eating after his teeth taken out, but he does very well. I wish you all the best, you and your kittie(s). Good luck to you! And a long healthy life for all of you!

    • @benton-benton
      @benton-benton Před 11 měsíci

Hi. He was fine after the extractions. The only problem is the vet left the 2 canine teeth and they reabsorbed. So make sure your vet takes all her teeth out, not just some. The surprising thing is my boy still ate dry food after - along with his wet/canned of course. He had no depression or anything after the extractions. Animals aren't big babies like people can be. They don't feel sorry for themselves or worry what they look like. The main thing is that your girl is healthy. Stomatitis is horrible. And the extractions do help. I hope it all goes well for you and your little girl. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't let him have dry food until about 6 months after the dental surgery. Problem is, he loves dry food. Now he has ear polyps that is affecting his breathing and has been to 4 different vets to try and solve the problem. No more dry food for him. I've replaced it with real salmon from the fish counter at Whole Foods, no bones of course. I wish you and your sweet girl the best of health and happiness. There is nothing like a cat baby. When you consent to surgery you would’ve consented to the doctor doing whatever they dreamed necessary that came up during the procedure. And 3 teeth is nothing geez. Cats have 33 teeth. I have a cat that lost 31 teeth with only 2 left after surgery so get over it. 🙄

Now go on in to the world. We are moving on to the next patient"
If that happened to me, I can guarantee I would be in prison for murder.

    QUESTION:
My poor Gracie girl had an infected tooth, wobbling and falling out! The Vet gave her an antibiotic that we are STILL (2 months later) dealing with her loose stools & he gave a pain med that we swear WAS AN OVERDOSE!
But, that top front tooth being gone has made its lower counterpart stab her to the point of her upper gum being ballooned.
I dare not return to that Vet, as they obviously did her harm... even saying TRY TO RUB OFF THE PAIN MED FROM HER BACK AND STOP THE ANTIBIOTIC!
    We are just SO WORRIED...
We stopped kibble and only feed her wet... trying to keep her from having to chew as much...
Oddly, the bubbles up area (where her top front tooth had been) is not red!
    ANY IDEAS, WE BEG YOU...❣️

Another video recommended supplementing small amounts of turmeric into their diet and I believe vitamin C will help. In case anyone is reading, the colloidal silver and coconut oil given at night after a last meal and in the morning after a meal with a long pause in between really helped with the pain and inflammation. In 3 days, my cat was able to drink water on his own. I still need to force feed him soft food (or his special hepatic and renal kibble soaked in water for a few minutes to soften the outer part) I administer as if feeding him a pill but being more gentle, letting him swallow it himself instead of shoving it down his throat

CBD oil is readily absorbed through the mucous membranes (i.e. gums) under your pet’s lips, orally through the mouth, and even transdermally through the skin in the inside of the ear (great for cats!). Ideally give your pet’s dose by lowering their lip and dropping on to the gums, OR by placing drops on your finger, and rubbing on your pet’s gums.

The vet today told me my cat had a reabsorption lesion. My cat has some redness on each side of his back (pre?) molars. The one on the right had a spot that I felt was more of a bump or swollen. It’s a small spot but cat mouths are small. They recommended dental work with X-rays to see if the tooth needs to be removed. Based on information I have looked up because I don’t exactly want to put him under, state extraction is the only option. I’m trying to prepare myself. I started brushing a bit since last year but that back area is hard to reach. I just bought plaque off to sprinkle in his kibble.
I guess I won’t know unless I have them do X-rays but is this the only option? I read that if a cat has it once it can have more or have it again (it’s more likely). My cat is 4 and I want to prevent this from happening again. Is it too late?

My boy's breath was atrocious and I thought it was normal for him until his sister moved in and now I can tell he's not just stinky. He doesn't have stomatitis as far as I can tell; I think it might be gingivitis. However, he's losing teeth and has already lost most of his front teeth, and he doesn't groom himself (he never really has and I figured it was because he was an abandoned rescue kitten when I got him). I worry that I've let it progress further than it needed to out of ignorance but I simply cannot afford to take him into the vet more than once a year or in life-threatening emergencies and they didn't catch anything at his last checkup at around October last year.
I hope that you have a video on how to treat some of the other things he might have, and I will try some of these things in this video, as well as some things in the comments. Would something like HomeoPet Feline Purr Dental be a good option? I have an FIV+ cat and I want to try to fix the problem before needing to removing teeth if at all possible. At the very least, delay it for some years. He is only 6.

Update: also make sure the spray/liquid propolis isn't made with propylene glycol, which is toxic for pets. Best t get water based one

I’m currently having problems with my 11 month old kitten and his gums.
After a horrifying visit to the vet who as you mentioned suggested removing all of his teeth, I have now started a more holistic approach.
We are in the very early days of curing what we have been told is severe gingivitis caused by exposure to feline calicivirus. I’m not sure how true this is as he isn’t showing any other symptoms, he just has inflamed gums. He is well in himself and doing everything a normal healthy kitten should.
Do you have any videos or anything about calicivirus and the after effects? From what I understand he would have contracted it from his mother who would have been the carrier. Unfortunately as he is a rescue cat I don’t hold any medical/family history beyond that of the rescue which he was surrendered to at 10 weeks old. Thank you

Hello doctor, thank you so much for this wonderful information! I have a 16 year old cat with painful stomatitis and mouth ulcers but also has kidney disease and diagnosed restricted cardiomyopathy.. Is it safe to try the licorice root? She is not on heart medication or any other medication only natural supplements atm .We have tried so many remedies so far and nothing seems to work with her mouth.

That is what I do with stray cats because I doubt I can open their mouths and rub these remedies on their gums. There is one nice stray cat that I can hold and give medicine using a dropper before but now, it is hard to give him any drop because he reacts negatively due to his painful mouth. So I believe, you can put the medicine into something that stray can lick or drink from like diluted sardines. What is important is that we get the herbal medicine inside his mouth. And if he has problems eating, don't give a big amount of food because the objective is to give him the medicine as well which will be useless if he can't eat and finish his meal. I don't give that stray cat anything hard to chew now. I treat him like an old man who lost his teeth so that at least he would be able to just gulp, drink or lick the food so there is less pain. I even soak kibbles in water to make them very very soft and add some chicken broth or diluted sardines sauce and crush the kibbles so they become porridge like. Good for hydration as well if you add chicken broth/water/diluted sardines sauce.

What is the strength of the colloidal silver? The health food store said the lowest he has is 50 ppm.
