  • You might not have heard of the Yangwang brand in Europe yet. It's the premium or luxury end of the BYD family and alongside the U9 hypercar it has also launched the U8 SUV. The Yangwang U9 uses a four-motor setup with a power output beyond 1,200hp. Currently there are no plans to introduce the model to markets outside of China, but that could change in time.

I don't think BYD will bring Yangwang brand to Europe, and I think you missed the most important feature of the car, the suspension.

The U8 not the U9 is at the showrooms in around Australia to see if there's interest so if we have a good chance of getting the U8 I'm sure Europe will get the brand. BTW the BYD seal is half the price of a Mercedes C200 in Australia so pricing by BYD is really good in australia even the BYD dolfine is the same price as a base Toyota corolla (in saying that in the budget EV segment the MG4 is selling the best).

@@amjedali5164 the U8 is over a million RMB in China, so the European price would be around 2 millions RMB, that is about 250k euro, BYD is still a new brand in the Western hemisphere, I don't think there's many people would spend this kind of money to buy the U8. But in ten years time, I think there would be a market for BYD's Yangwang brand

This was during a static presentation in China prior to its official launch there. We haven’t had the opportunity to drive it yet.

Why should Ireland get supercars first and not affordable superminis, microcars and barebones utility vehicles? A market with nothing but pretentious luxury items, SUVs and Crossovers is a market fit for another crash.

Like a lot of modern cars. The display integration into the cockpit is just awful and ugly. I dont understand why they dont try to make it look better putting in a way that makes the design more seamlessly. In my opinion, it is just ugly having displays sticking out like that. They look like they are an aftertought, like they do not match the lines and the design. Just stuck on there and here you go. I wouldnt accept this paying a lot of money.
