Just have to say, I greatly appreciate the effort that goes into taking something from a video tape and making a legit CZcams video out of it.
This was EXTREMELY helpful. You are a true blessing to those of us who love the nostalgic content AND have tons of tapes with loads of commercials on them. This was very easy to follow and I just got a great feeling watching this, knowing you want to help out those of us who want to get better quality content. Thank you so much for all you do - it really is appreciated more than youâll probably ever know!!!
Thanks, Mort! I truly appreciate that!
If interested in buying the equipment used in my tape conversion process, I've listed all of the Amazon links in the description.
Very interesting! Pretty cool Dave! It's nice to see the process. Worth the hard work!đ
Fantastic contribution to the VHS and other analog video to CZcams archivist community! Thank you Dave!
Very welcome!
How all of the Nostalgia Magic is put together well done đ đđœđșđŒđŻ Dave! đ§đ§đ§
Incredible video, thanks for this. I have a mac which has the worst options for video capture, This saved me alot of $$$ not having to buy a PC. What i would say is that people know that the Diagram has some typos and missing info. For example the BlackMagic video assist is 3G and not 6G (doesn't exist, next step up is 12G). the last thing is that the cable going form the Black Magic Converter to the Video assist is a BNC/SDI to "mini-BNC/SDI" i wasted money on a regular BNC and didnt realize that the black magic comes with the correct cable already.Other than that this is a super solid set up and perfect for my "non-proffessional" set up that i just use to capture home videos.
Nice to see how you allow us to watch all the vintage awesomeness...see you Friday Dave đšđŠ
Dave!! Thanks brotha, love the FRESH TAPES live streams â€ïž
Thank you for the detailed tour guide on how you convert VHS and Betamax to your PC. Looks pretty straightforward.
this was a great look behind the curtain! definitely love all the uploads so this behind the scenes stuff makes me appreciate the work a lot more!
Thanks, DarkTetsuya!
Awesome. I transfer using the WiiStar, RCA cord, VCR and OBS studio
I have a similar set up
Great and informative breakdown with how you do what you do Dave. Didn't realize how extensive it was until you explained. Gives me a greater appreciation for what you do.
Thanks, Urban!
As an analog kid myself, this was fantastic to watch. I love your commercial anthologies, and this was very cool. Keep it going, Dave. đđŒ
I've done lots of research on a workflow like this over the past few months and there were some things in this video that were extremely helpful and that I couldn't easily find other places. Thanks!
Thank you Dave for this incredible tutorial! Last year I spent weeks converting about 80+ of my VHS tapes using my VHS/DVD combo and the Elgato Video Capture. While it got the job done, there were times the app would crash and I also noticed there were audio sync issues with some of my converted files (and I wasn't about to go through the arduous task of re-syncing). Thanks to your video and the helpful links, I've purchased most of the components (and per your recommendation, I found a Panasonic AG-1980 P on eBay for a steal!) and I'm going to recapture all of my tapes using your method. THANK YOU AGAIN! đđŸđ€đŸđŻ
Did the Panasonic work?
Hey Dave,
My method of transferring tapes is using JVC S-VHS decks that have built in TBC for 2 & 6 hour speed tapes.
For my 4 hour speed tapes I use Panasonic HIFI vcrs because since they can record in LP speed I feel they give the best quality possible in that speed.
I want to buy a Panasonic 1970 or 1980 but they are expensive & cost a lot of money if needing repairs.
I use Panasonic DVD Recorders with built in Hard Disk Drives to transfer to dvd. This way I can edit, add chapters, split video, etc.
Great video! Thanks, Dave!
I still use the tape-to-DVD method of conversion, courtesy of a Toshiba DVD recorder. Sure, the DVD's take up space over time, but I use Handbrake to rip the content on each DVD, where you can then store on a HDD for that MPEG file. There isn't any TBC self-correcting technology, but the timing comes across fine. I find this process a little too complicated (and a bit more expensive) for my tastes, but thanks for the detailed explanation.
Thanks, Pannoni! Yeah, the setup is a bit invested, but I really enjoy the results and ease after it has been setup.
This was awesome, I had no idea this much work went into this! Great video, Dave, and thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video as always Dave, but I have to say my video editing software of choice being a Linux user, and seeing as Adobe as has decided to give us the middle finger is Davinci Resolve which is free, and I was able to pick up the basics of using it in just a few minutes editing vacation footage, and a few small projects for work.
Indeed - Davinci is an amazing product!
SWEET!!!!!

this is so rad to see! great video bud
Was looking up this subject and I'm so excited that one of my favorite channels of all time made a video on this. I'm scanning in vhs for side money... and I'm like why can't I get what I'm seeing off on the vcr on the end. So to know I could possibly get to your quality you deliver to us, I'll be so satisfied!!
And I'm so excited you're filming I love the 80s/70s
The line TBC (full field line TBC in the Panasonic 1980) is different than the external frame TBC. A line and a frame TBC both momentarily digitize the video then they turn it back to analog. A line TBC digitizes lines on the picture which corrects the image. A frame TBC digitized whole frames and stores them in a buffer then outputs them at the correct time. The frame TBC keeps you from dropping frames.
I'm very pleased with my AVerMedia PCI capture card that I installed into my PC. I simply connect the standard VHS and S-VHS cables (and the two audio cables) from my VCR to the AVerMedia card. I'd love to add a TBC into the mix, but they are simply not available anymore.
Hey Dave,
Bravo!
My setup is similar to yours except I have a RetroTink 4k for upscaling the video to HD for my editing purposes. I too use a blackmagic video assist recorder for the same reason. How funny.
This is all great information, thank you! I'm on a Mac and there are not many good options for good VHS capture - I'm using an Elgato Video Capture USB and the quality is junk. I never thought to use an external recorder. I'll consider investing in some of this equipment in the future.
I am using the El Gato HD60 X on my Macbook pro. I am not using their capture software but rather OBS. It looks great.
Thanks for the breakdown! I also use the AG-1980 because of the built in TBC feature but I would love to find one of those Big Voodoo TBC units. The hunt begins!
Good stuff man. I have a stack of old home videos that Iâd like to digitize before they deteriorate. Iâm not sure how much I want to invest in this project, but I wonder what itâd cost me if I got everything you mentioned except for the field monitor and just used my PC? I used to have a nice S-video VHS player but it is long gone.
Hey Tanner! In that case, I would replace the field recorder with an SDI to HDMI converter from Blackmagic: amzn.to/3DNoBRa . You'll be saving around $400 or so by using this method when transferring to your PC.
I just use a Panasonic hi-fi vcr deck connected to a Toshiba DVD recorder.
A nice midlevel VCR (a mid-90s JVC with some auto-tracking technology) and a mid-80s Sony Beta with stereo sound works for me as well.
Thank you sooo much for this video! The process I am using now is awful, just got a new comp to see if I need to replace anything but this method sounds much better than what I was doing! Appreciate it so much. Keep up the great work!
I always wondered why, no matter what video conversion method I use, my "do-it-yourself" attempts to digitize my VHS tapes always resulted in lower picture and audio quality compared to when I take them to a professional. Now I know that the professional process is a lot more complicated and expensive haha.
Great great stuff in the future will you do a video on how you use Adobe and screen record the process you do? Because what if some of your listeners donât understand how to fix saturation and audio? That would be cool video to.
Bro I would love to meet you some day your line my big brother in retro era lol!!!
you're a hero Dave!
Oh man, I loved the I Love the 70s/80s/90s shows from VH1, I miss watching them.
You got luck with that TBC, they are the most expensive things you need for this.
Awesome buddy
The absolute best transfer deck for VHS or Super VHS tapes is the JVC D-VHS series decks. HM-DH30000U or HM-DH40000U. From the JVC brochure:
JVCâs DigiPure Technology:
â Digital Wide TBC (Time Base Corrector) helps stabilize the picture of old tapes and rental cassettes.
â Precision 3-D Color Circuit provides clear color separation and sharpens image edges.
â Precise Digital 3-D YNR/CNR improves the S/N ratio by approximately 3dB.
â Precise Digital 3-D Y/C Separation reduces dot interference at image borders and improves the S/N ratio.
â Digital R3 Picture System which applies edge correction to the luminance signal to enhance detail.
And providing a solid foundation for Digital 3-Dimensional Circuit with 4MB Frame Memory.
Output signals via the Component video output connectors. To a component capture card. Better than the S-VHS connector.
I output the component signal to a Sony DV cam deck with component inputs and come out of the DV Cam deck FireWire to a computer capture.
The results are the best you can squeeze out of a VHS or S-VHS transfer.
Hello! Thank you for the tutorial and information. I learned so much here. What alternatives can be bought easily today for the Time Base Corrector that fit into the set up you show here? The Voodoo seems to be way to rare for its own good and I don't know what to look for in a TBC. Thanks.
Cool thx
Are you recording 480i (or NTSC 525) to the SD card in the field recorder, then de-interlacing and upscaling in Premiere Pro? Or is the field recorder doing the de-interlace/upscale in hardware for the recorded file?
Hey Digi! The footage is captured interlaced, then de-interlaced/upscaled in Premiere.
@@DavesArchives Are you using any particular deinterlacing/upscaling plugins, or just native effects in Premiere? I'm about to begin the process of re-capturing a lot of VHS tapes I had previously captured for a documentary project as DV/firewire. I had a lot of problems with tape stickiness, sync and dropout issues. I'll be baking tapes this time and building a similar workflow to yours. I've actually already got most of the hardware you're using, except for the Voodoo TBC. Looking to source some kind of standalone TBC to use. Would love your feedback on the upscaling/deinterlacing in Premiere.
@@drew-money Definitely - I don't really do anything special for interlaced video. When I create a new sequence in Premiere, it's by default progressive which then blends the interlaced fields. When I export the video I use the 4k high quality preset. Hope this helps! -Dave
Much appreciated, I love your channel!
Lol. My dad still has a VHS camcorder tape of Waikiki beach from the 1980's. Good thing my mom was a good sport, because a few boobs and butts were used to test the focus of the lens; pure technical talk.

Great video. Do you archive your raw captures anywhere? ProRes takes up a tremendous amount of space, but preservation is important.
Yup, sure do. I use external drives for my masters. I have around 6 or so 4tb drives.
Awesome video. I just recently learned about the TBCs. Didn't even know it was a thing. You have such a calm demeanor. Teachers should teach the way you do. By the way, at what resolution should the tape be captured at? I've read a lot of conflicting information on this from 333x240, 352x240, 640x480, 704x480, and 720x480.
question....couldn't you go straight out of your TBC with the S-Video (Y-cable) and bypass using the adapter? Would this affect the image?
Hi Dave. Wow, you have by far the best video I've found explaining the pro details of how to do this. Great stuff man. So, I had a question about Time Base Correction, do you think it's possible for some DVD recorders to contain this ability to clean up bad tapes with TBC built into them? I have a PYE brand device that is designed to record anything sent into it on to a DVD, but I found when I ran my old tapes through it first, then went out to my capture card in my PC it seems to do exactly what you are describing with TBC devices. It straightens out wavy video and stabilizes things that confused my capture card. Not saying it's a good as a high end unit, but is that a thing?
Yes, many DVD recorders have various levels of a TBC(ish) effect. "Proper" standalone TBCs may be able to better handle various issues though
The BV TBC 10 is no longer available. Finding one that works properly on eBay would be great.
So time base corrector eliminates flashing 12:00 right?đ
I just started to try transferring home movies and also thought I'd try to do all the old TV recordings that we just retired when we stopped using VHS, and holy crap this will cost too much to do to this level especially the cost of those TBC's omg. I got a Hauppauge analogue to usb capture device that works pretty well for my level, working with OBS, I think that's going to have to do for my stuff. Maybe I'll send the TV recording VHS' to you for your channel instead lol.
Yeah this setup is a little over the top, but great quality footage. Would love to take anything youre willing to send! đđ
You can easily get a working dvd recorder with a tbc built-in (like the Panasonic DMR-ES15) for relatively cheap on the used market these days.
Just curious as to why break the image with the s video female adapter? Cant u go straight out of the tbc with the y cable? Iâve gone out of my dv player y cable into analog to sdi and it worked. Just curious as to what breaking the signal with that adapter does? I orderd one to see if thereâs any visual differences
Hi Dave, thanks for this video. Curious about this workflow. Maybe I missed it, but how is resolution/frame rate/interlacing handled on this setup? Are these things that can be handled on the black magic converter, on the field recorder, or do you do most things in post processing? Would be awesome if the file captured to the field recorder was deinterlaced 60p but that seems like a lot to hope for.
does this setup capture the FULL video signal including blanking and VITC, or only the cropped in image portion? What is the resolution and aspect ratio of the resulting ProRes files? Are the ProRes files deinterlaced automatically, or do you rely on Adobe Premiere to do that?
How long have you been doing this Dave? Thx
Hmm, Since 2012 I believe
Based on your advanced knowledge of analog to digital conversion, are there any VHS to digital professional services you recommend or that you would warn against? I don't want to drop $500 on converting to videos only to realize they used some basic $80 setup I could have done at home.
THANK YOU!
No problem!
very interesting, I've got an Canopus ADVC 110box that takes standard RCA and also Super S VHS inputs converting into digital siginals which go into my computer and then they go into Adobe Pro program and into the 'capture' setting for DV input and editing ( if I need editing) and then project out to adobe media builder with bunches of variable settings and then into mpeg files to build in a 'saved' file to then put that file onto a thumb drive . The video looks good,,,,is it as good as one which has been ran thru a TBC ? I don't know? Have you tried something like this?
VCR's usually have line TBC's, they fix line timing, they can only store few lines, The external TBC's are usually frame TBC's that fix frame timing and store fields, There are very few external TBC's that combine both line and frame TBC, So you have to distinguish between the two as they serve completly tow different functions.
If computer is available one can skip the $500 field recorder and use a PCIe SDI ingest card for as little as $50. Plus de-interlacing and upscaling on the fly degrades the video, It's better to capture lossless AVI 4:2:2, de-interlace with QTGMC and upscale later, Which is what I do for my channel. Not to mention that you can replace your external TBC and the mini converter with one device like the BE75 or one of GrassValley devices (former Snell & Wilcox), Some of these ar built in both line TBC and frame TBC in one chip.
BE75 probably means the BrightEye BE75, which is not normally available in Europe. The GrassValley TBC I found looked like it couldn't do S-Video.
@@TTVEaGMXde It should, It uses BNC connectors, So you would need BNC to S-Video adapter cable.
Everyone talks about SVideo but my VCR has HDMI output. How do I get my vhs corrected with an HDMI out?
The Blackmagic Mini Converter analog to SDI is no longer available. Have you tested whether a self-recording (where you know the number of frames) still has the same number of frames and synchronous sound after being digitized for over 2 hours? The latency of the TBC must be compensated for with an audio delay. I couldn't get Blackmagic Intensity (PRO and Shuttle) to run correctly (accept the source speed) with a Pioneer DVR-LX60 as PAL TBC. Deinterlacing should NEVER be used for archival purposes. Exception: film, as the source is practically progressive.
Havenât done any type of frame sync but I donât experience issues with audio delay most of the time. On rare occasions a tape will have odd audio delays but I believe it to be the tape itself.
@@DavesArchives That's enough for me to say that the Mini Converter isn't running properly either.
â@@TTVEaGMXdeAJA also has ad converters like the blackmagic one, but they are a little more expensive
Interesting choice on the Pana model, have you checked if you can make use of the tbc over the hdmi out ? Models like the ES10 have a excellent stabilization function for problematic tapes, some even argue the best in the consumer range at least.
Are there any affordable time base correctors? They all seem so expensive
a lot of folks pass the video signal through older DVD players to improve the signal. I seen good results with it.
Very thorough video...thank you. Do you have any links to any actual videos on youtube that utilized this process from original camera Vhs material . I would like to see this , as I think many would.
Hi Dave, Love your setup!
Have you ever tried/done a comparison just using the HDMI out of your ES46 player directly to the field recorder or direct to computer w/ adobe premiere capture via HDMI cable? Curious how the onboard digitizer/frame sync of the VCR outputs the signal vs the Blackmagic converter/digitizer/VDoo TBC setup.. When going direct, im guessing it "might/should" bypass the compression (loss) used by the VCR when writing to the onboard DVD burner..the downside of burning to a disc from VHS... thoughts/experiences?
Hey Synths. Thanks for the comments. I've tried HDMI to my BM capture device, but it doesn't recognize the signal. I tried on several capture devices with the same results unfortunately. Sadly, my ES46 died last week, so I can no longer do any further testing. I have two VCRs on order, but they are limited to composite and SVID outputs only.
@@DavesArchives Sorry to hear about the player going down. I think just about every DVD/VHS recorder has some type of TBC/frame sync built into the units. Interesting it doesn't recognize as it should just be a video signal.. I have the same unit so am planning on testing out a few setups with a few different converter boxes.. It has component out also so may see what that does, if anything. Will let you know if i find anything.
â@@DavesArchives probably bc you needed a splitter after the pana to get rid of the hdcp lock that the bm monitor doesnt like, none of the bm devices do. The digital oupouts of the pana dvd converters are all outfitted with hdcp locks.

Dave, great video. I wish I had this video a long time ago. Quick question to you Dave, or to anyone else who might have experience in this area, can the BlackMagic Analog to SDI converter be used as a passthrough from an analog tuner to be able to connect an analog DVD player or VCR to a new digital (Fire) tv. I cannot seem to find a proper passthrough to fix this problem. Thank you for any help you can give.
Hey mao! It sure can if you use the analog conversion process in the video, but I may be a little overkill. Some folks have had good results using a DVD VHS unit that has analog and digital inputs/outputs. Cheers!
@@DavesArchives Dave, thank you for the reply, Great news. I'm going to take your advice and will let you know how it turns out. Keep up the great work. You rock!
Will this process with the field recorder work for 3/4â U-Matic via BNC out? No DUB out on my U Matic deck. Are there converters/adapters available to make this work? Thanks.
If using BNC out it should work fine since you're not using an svid to bnc conversion. Should plug straight into the Analog to SDI unit, then directly to the field recorder. Cheers!
Dave, Iâd love to get a Blackmagic Assist 12G but I am unable to find on the spec sheet that it can capture at 480p. It does support 525i though. Thoughts?
Good question! I want to say that I think it should work fine, despite the 525i output. Mine says it captures 525/59.94i NTSC over SDI, but it indeed does capture the 480i source video from my video perfectly fine. I would try grabbing one off amazon to test it out, and if it doesn't work, you can just return it. Good luck!
Thanks for the video. Would you mind sharing your settings for the Blackmagic Aanlog to SDI converter? There are 8 switches. Do you have 1, 4, 5 & 6 down and the others up? Want to make sure I have that setting right because I'm having trouble seeing or hearing a signal going through it.
I'm trying to digitize from a Panasonic AG-1960 using a BNC cable directly into the Blackmagic Analog to SDI. I don't have a TBC or S-VHS converter.
Yep, you need a tbc bc the blackmagic device only accepts clean and stable input which the vcr alone usually doesnt have
Watching this again, and wondering⊠if I wanted to skip the TBC and use my existing VCR that does not have S-Video-out, could I use a BNC Male to RCA Male adapter for the video cable straight into the SDI converter?
I think that should work out okay doing that. Would probably need to use the bnc y ntsc input Iâm guessing. The only problem is that the video quality will suffer due to the low grade video quality of the composite video coming from the vcrâs rca jack. S Video is used in my setup because it is as close you will get to the actual recording in terms of quality, which is why my setup is in this format.
@@DavesArchives I splurged for a used JVC S-VHS unit which has S-Video out, plus the other equipment sans TBC (for now) because they're near-impossible to find in my budget. Soon I'll be on my way to much clearer captures. Thanks Dave!

Great workflow, I picked up the field recorder from your suggestion. Just curious what Codec you are using to record everything with, or if you found anything better than the prores-hq setting. @Dave's Archives ok thanks!
How can I record from black magic assist ? Or there is memory inside ? Or there is cable to pc ?
Any insight on where one might source a TBC? I have a ton of VHS home movies that I'd like to transfer to digital but cannot seem to find a TBC anywhere that isn't thousands.
This is a very interesting video. As an amateur video hobbyist, I have been thinking about offering converting services to my area. I am looking for a more professional setup that yields quality results, and came across your guide. Do you have any suggestions as I continue to research this?
What codec have you found works best for you when using the Video Assist? And are you still on v6 of your workflow?
I'm still using the Apple Prores HQ codec, but my setup is entirely different. I'm now using: VCR w/ TBC built-in > RetroTink 4k > 4k capture to an Atomos Ninja V recording monitor. It's leagues better than this video setup and I'll be sharing it soon :)
@@DavesArchives lol And here I just got a 12G 7" Video Assist influenced by this video. I love it so far. It's a tank! So with recording analog, you don't think that ProRes HQ isn't overkill for it's file size? I was running with 422. You're right. Talk about a rabbit hole here.
@@hangar4pro hehe sorry about that! Itâs a very recent change but Iâll create a new vid for the setup soon. Nice that u got the 12g since it can capture 4k. Lots of folks say prores hq probably overkill but I tend to pixel peep my material and can always spot differences⊠Iâm super picky about the quality. It does eat up a ton of space but since my material is getting compressed twice via Premiere and CZcams, i try to squeeze every ounce of quality I can from the transfers. If you have time check out the Retrotink 4k. Itâs a game changer for vhs archivists and is oddly very much under the radar since it was originally designed for upscaling retro game consoles. Massive game changer. Also, it has special functionality built in just for analog media preservation.
@@DavesArchives Oh trust me....I have looked into the RetroTink deal. Lots of potential there. I didn't copy exactly your workflow as posted here, but it's close. I put a few twists in it here and there. Good to see you're using a VCR with built-in TBC. I have a Pana 1980 that I wouldn't trade for anything (which BTW, you can get Tom Grant to fix yours) that I also use as a line through when capturing footage from camcorders. Then hits an 1080p upscaler with HDMI output to the BMD VA. Works without BS. But when the smoke clears, and the video is exported, I doubt anyone could be able to spot any difference between what you do, what I do, and hundreds of other guys how they do it (if they know what they're doing of course)! The only thing different is the methods now available to capture. Enter the law of diminishing returns big time here. We're talking analog footage here...not BMD Ursa cam footage. lol You can only put so much lipstick on a pig. :) But I still enjoy tinkering with it all. Looking forward to your new workflow video! I always enjoy watching your content brotha. đ€

Hi, Dave ! I have a Panasonic combo DMR-ES35V which outputs VHS rocksteady over component, straight into a Intensity Shuttle, all other outputs are also rocksteady, it's strange, because it doesn't mention a TBC anywhere and isn't Super-VHS. your Panasonic combo has also component (YUV) out, but also for VHS ? i believe it does, but not while recording to dvd i read in the manualâŠ. So i don't use a TBC with my DMR-ES35V âŠDid you try using your DMR- ES40V without the TBC ? on mine i have no HDMI or SD card slot.
s-video without TBC should also work, it does also with mine Anaog to SDI, then Micro Converter SDI to HDMI (3G) which goes into my Hyperdeck Shuttle HD which has also 2 options for h.264 codec recording, apart from the ProRes422⊠etc...
Hey Xavier! Not sure if these units that have HD outputs work with with VHS, but it may be possible. From what I've researched in the past, usually the component outputs are only reserved for the DVD section. My Panasonic VCR svid output is pretty good, much better than older VCRs, but it struggles with older tapes at times from what I've seen, and the TBC usually cleans that up from what I've experienced.
@@DavesArchives You have the ES46 i now see, i did read somewhere else, it has to do with the chip-set used in these machines. component was used for the LCD tv's before the HDMI "age" component didn't provide copyright protection in progressive mode, HDMI does. thanks to Holywood :)
This is great! Will it work the same with laserdiscs?
Yup, sure will!
Awesome! Thank you!@@DavesArchives
Laserdisc should be easier, as they have a much stabler signal due to the format.
do you transfer betamax to digital as business đą

Hello, you not mention anything about deinterlacing. So u didnât do it by hardware as it seemsâŠ
Sorry, itâs done with adobe premiere in the video. But now I use retrotink hardware to deinterlace.
@@DavesArchives can u made some shorts to demonstrate how it looks? Iâm wondering if retrotink 4k is worth it but there is no comprehensive reviews only gamers with their consolesâŠ
@@protasov-by Almost certainly better quality by deinterlacing in (free)software instead.
What? You found your BV TBC10 for how much? 2 for 20$ each. Thatâs crazy. With BV10s the generation is very important. They are best bought from a professional. Only the early BV 10s are really desired. You said people donât know what theyâre selling with those but really the issue is people donât know what theyâre buying. Iâm talking about people buying it for 1,200 on eBay. Not you buying it for $20. At 20 dollars though it seems like a good buy.
I'm strolling through videos looking for software suggestions, and came across this video. It needs to be updated as you don't need all that gear. There's a $20-30 adapter you can use to do the same thing.

Any links for Betamax Player?
People like myself are buying VCR players cleaning tapes vhs movies offline now days from ebay and Amazon
I repair VCRs for a living. STOP USING THOSE STUPID CLEANING TAPES. THEY DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD.
I need help transferring from Betamax to digital, can you help me?
Everything proven people are more of the problem not the vhs tape itself
There is no way you can get pure amazing quality from a VHS tape, VHS is 240 lines, if it was a SVHS you would get much better picture quality VHS is a low resolution format, not ideal for viewing on Large HD/4K TV's
