- Duke Divinity School hosted a retirement lecture, “A Dark Fruition: Waiting in Hope," given by Dr. Richard Hays, George Washington Ivey Professor Emeritus of New Testament and former dean of the Divinity School.
From Brazil, South America, I thank you all for this. I'm a Roman Catholic, but what a teaching I got from Prof Hays in this talk!
Hays is one of the main reasons I entered the academy. Reading Moral Vision stirred me in a way that I didn't think scholarship could. He is easily one of the greatest scholars and exegetes of our time.
Absolutely beautiful farewell speech!! Many thanks to Prof Hays for his scholarship and godliness!!
Glory to God. Thank you for your service. May these be Hays' most fruitful years in all ways, in Jesus' Name.
I am listening to this on 21 March 2023. Once more, prayers for Prof. Hays as he is again facing "A Dark Fruition: Waiting in Hope."
You have come a long way since Mrs. Ellis, grades 4 and 5. Much respect. All the best in the future to you and Judy!
A beautiful address. Vintage Hays.
Nice
I expect they have tea in the social hall following this event John
