Electrocutioner Smough on the other hand, he seems like he would little more than good target practice for some Dark Beads. So the odds would be more in favor of Manus but only in the event that he kills Ornstein first, otherwise it is a 50/50.

I am DEEPLY disturbed by just how fast Manus is. Like, You don't notice it in his arena but in this video he just bum rushes the bosses faster than a player can run! So glad his arena restricts his movements somewhat or else he would be an even greater pain in the Estus than he already is.
I actually found Gwyn the hardest boss. With Manus there was sometime for you to recover if damaged. Gwyn closed the distance so fast and I am very bad at parrying. If not for the weakness of parrying he would be very hard.

Gwyn is like an r1 spammer dude has infinte stamina when you fight him normally. just beat him without using the parry at all on him for the first time and uh.... hes definitely one of the harder bosses in the series@inisen1469
The outcome would have been the same. Ornstein would have been tainted by the dark, just like Artorias. He sent Artorios because he was the better warrior.

A lot of the fights were practically cinematic, like cutting the Gargoyle's tail off in mid flight or Quelaag crawling all over doing everything she could until Manus showed off how superior his magic was.
Manus has a knack for finishing moves. Quelaag: Dark Rain taunt kill Iron Golem: Chain attack with finishing ground slam Centipede Demon: Burned to death Gwyn: Head pat
