i used both the cat and dog hangout back in 2018 when i started playing ts4 and it was indeed depressing, never again
I made the mistake of letting my sister make a household in Brindleton Bay she has made it her life's mission to adopt EVERY stray in the world đ€Šââïž
Omg the worst case
@@thebaddriver6605 lmao I did the same thing.. itâs so sad
when i first got pets, i did it, i ended up cheating like a mofo to get vet skills and bought all the vet stuff and cured all the sickos that swung by, then deleted that file when i got bored of it... but yeah, i had to cheat like CRAZY EDIT: keep in mind, while i was being the pet savior, i had sim humans locked in a pool drowning. so... yea, im still a weirdo lol
And you can't adopt them either, so sad
I felt so attacked when the moodlet said _âwho does Lia think she is?â_ đ€Ą
Oh Lia, you made my day đ
:o
LMAOOO
đđ
yeah me too
we need a lot trait to ban celebrities from the lot. iâm tired of restaurants functioning even worse than usual because judith ward decides to show up
That would be nice
Beat fire with fire, make a celebrity own a restaurant :)
Soon she dies and after the third generation celebrities stop generating.
Ngl it's either Judith ward or that old granny celeb but any way Judith ward is such an annoying sim like Nancy landgrab.judith makes roleplaying broken and Nancy can't go a goddanm second without turning up on the lot jogging around the lot.those two sims townies are so annoyih
I love the dog hang out. I felt the same way about seeing sick and sad strays so I built a second structure that was heated with beds and I put food out and even a fire place that will auto light and a bath so I can bathe the exceptionally dirty ones. I also stocked up on vet treats lol.
Yesss same although I really want to just adopt them all haha
Same, like a cozy stray shelter. Even adopted the "regular visitors" and roleplayed that my sim is a temporary adoptive parent until they "found their forever home" (sold the pets after dressing them up and getting them spayed/neutered) đ€Ł
I do this too!
Yep! I did something similar but with the cat lot trait once. I just stocked up on vet wellness treats and healed all the sick kitties as they came by as well as kept food and litter boxes all over for the kids to clean and fill daily to earn scout badges as well as learn the responsibility trait.
@@OrangeCat1992 very smart! I love my little bed building it has dog posters up and I put a thermostat so itâs warm in the winter and cool in the summer lol
i used the cat lot trait to build a cat-café
Ouuu! I love cat cafés!
I love that idea
Thatâs such a good idea!! You might just have convinced me to buy Dine Out!
@@OrangeCat1992 cafe is in get together not dine out.
I did this as well.
i like using the filthy/hangout traits for non-residential builds. helps give a grungier city vibe
Agree! It gives different stories and variety
I use it for rags to riches stories and also when I'm doing a deadbeat crackhead storyline with the basemental drugs mod

The dark ley line trait can give you vampire hybrids. I had a spellcaster couple whose child was part spellcaster, part vampire because of this trait!
Thatâs actuallyâŠcool
No way, i have a spellcaster & vampire who had 8 kids & not one of them was a hybrid, they were either full vamp or spellcaster đ can you tell me how a hybrid of these two are ?
@@cracyweirdo95 She had the spellcaster skill tree, and could cast spells, but she had thirst instead of hunger and used dark energy. I never really played with her, unfortunately, So I don't know the full extent of her vampire abilities. Since she didn't have the vampire skill tree, she wouldn't be able to earn their perks. I don't know if she could duel or not. I meant to play with her, but got distracted by something else.
@@clarebo ooo she sounds interesting, i know hybrids have really annoying bugs so its hard to play them sometimes. Iâll definitely try on a dark ley line, maybe i can get one more kid out from them hahah
â@@clarebo there's occult hybrid mods that fix problems like this... Not sure if they still work with the latest patch tho
I hate the negative moodlet that comes with celebrity home because I feel itâs a bit unrealistic. A lot of people would kill to live in a home âfit for a celebrity,â but instead they have to be embarrassed and the moodlet never goes away. I think the moodlet should apply to some sim traits, like maybe sims who are proper or I donât really know any other traits that would make sense for the embarrassed moodlet to pop up. Then for sims that are snobby, I feel like they should absolutely love living in the house despite not being a celebrity.
I'm curious, will it go away if one of the family is famous or is the rest of the family embarrassed to have a famous partner/child?
Idk if you're on pc / have the ability to mod but people have modded it so that moodlet doesn't exist. I could send u a link if you're interested
â@@konstantinschreiner2122 Everyone that isn't famous become embarrassed, it was a hell to play in one of my household that both parentes being the top rank of celebrity. The kids did get fame when they become child (don't remember the exactly age), but if not explored their fame, they will lose it. I didn't wanna the descendents to be famous too, so i ended up with 2 children and 2 teenagers always embarrassed to live in their own house.
â@@konstantinschreiner2122 I recently had a 5 star celebrity couple with 3 kids of different ages living in a house with this trait and the kids were miserable. I hated it
I like the filthy trait because it gives me a reason to have a maid coming to clean everyday, they are a waste of money otherwise
u can also just not buy a maid (or, I can't remember what trait it is, but one of them makes services free)
Free services is pretty easily attainable and tbh itâs not hard for the place to get messy when you have at least 4 sims to a house, especially if one or more likes to cook or shit keeps breaking lol
i love them theyâre good for gameplay, for example i made a cat cafe so i used the cat hangout trait ofc, the filthy one is good for storytelling if u have like a messy family or a trashbag dad and shit
Trashbag mom!!!!!!
This is what I needed, thanks for the idea (; I went to a cat cafe as a late birthday treat
The filthy trait seems like it'd be good if you wanted to start off a story with a hoarder situation and had to work on improving their mental and physical health to work their way out of the hoarding situation.
I don't mind the cat and dog hangout necessarily, but I'm having a glitch where they insist there isn't food, even when the food is in front of their face. It happens with a couple of the pet cats too - one family has to literally invite the cat to eat every time. (I'm okay with that one though - the calico looks like my childhood cat, and in real life she got senile and needed a little help too lol.)
This is irl cat behaviour so I'm not sure its a bug đ
The filthy lot trait barely works to be honest. It's a bug. I wish it was more integrated with the bust the dust mechanic. It would be great for attics and abandoned lots that need spooky vibes
On Dark Ley Line is really funny if you just randomly turn it on and off. Genuinely shocked myself when my 2 human sims had a vampire daughter. Even funnier was the fact her eldest sister had recently became a were wolf.
Dark ley line is basically just an option for a different way to create vampires besides biting or CAS. It's a storytelling opportunity - like, surprise vampire raised by regular sims, or whatever. I wouldn't say it's useless or unnecessary at all, it's a feature with a good purpose to it that just happens to be very specific. Which like... most of the complaints I see about Sims 4 is that it doesn't have enough quirky/specific details, so.
I use that cat a dog hang out for my vet sims. They take care to feed, bathe, and treat all the neighborhood strays.
I still have my celebrities get the poser moodlet like maâam you are a global superstar
imposter syndrome........
I downloaded a Keanu Reeves Sim off the gallery and moved him into one of those Celebrity Homes. He wasn't a celebrity and had that moodlet. I didn't realize he wasn't famous.
I think the issue is we don't have enough lot traits so the few that get barely used just stand out more.
I love using the cat/dog one. It really makes my homeless sim or wilderness play more realistic lol
Celebrity home would be good if you had 2 sims, one a celebrity and the other one trying to be "normal" or working to become a celeb too
You put Cat/Dog hangout on your homes? I usually use them on community lots to have places where wild dogs and cats hang out and can be befriended and adopted
Yes you can have them on your home! I actually like the idea of using them on public lots so you can have things like cat cafes
I use it on my home for my sim with the animal friend aspiration
Put a âneatâ sim in a âdirtyâ lot and see how it plays out đ
With the vampire baby one, I for some reason had it on with a family of spellcasters, and what I got was a hybrid.
So I guess thatâs the only reason you would want to use it, however Iâve heard it causes a lot of things to go wrong.
i have a cementery/nightclub in the vampire world with this trait, so all the party woohoo could get a vampire kid as a result, i may try to get a spellcaster in
I use cat/dog hang out and the filthy traits when I make dumpster lots. I like to play rags to riches with my sims in the worst conditions possible and their only consolation was play with the sick and dirt pets that show up where they live đ
I put trait "stray cats / dogs come to the site", and then I add their to family, if they are sick, I take them to the veterinary clinic, take the most expensive treatment, and hand it over to the shelter, since I would not pull a huge number of dogs or cats in the family . Although, once when I was learning the game and created an experimental world, I was even able to take one dog from the street. It was a big white dog named "Nightmare" which I changed to "Snowball"
(Google translate... If something wrong, forgive me)
I use cat hangout for cafes to make cat cafes, and i pretend they're partnered with adoption agencies where you can adopt the cats you meet there. It's very cute!
I actually like dirty lot trait. I think that houses in sims4 are getting dirty very slowly, and my sims don't have much to do most times. With that trait they have more chores to do, feels realistic.
@@user-gx1vx7li3x same
The dark ley line is very helpful for the 100 baby challenge.
I like using filthy or grody with mold. Makes for more of a challenge
bro the cat and dog hangout was the absolute worst thing ever. I had to lock all my doors constantly because the ANIMALS were coming in my house non stop, pissing everywhere and chewing everything up. that is the absolute worst lot trait. ever.
Bruh one dog broke into my home and WOULD. NOT. LEAVE.
So.... why would I even get the hangout lot traits. I'd be even more frustrated..
You can use the filthy lot trait to achieve certain "lazy" or gross aspirations faster. It's good for farming those specific aspirations
I use the celebrity home one too torture some of my simsâŠthat I made evil. I have these stories I made up in my head, and when I play, I get to test theories.
I do that too, but I also made a family along with the evil sim, and made the family famous.
Theyâre for challenges all of them are actually really fun when youâre bored
Honestly I don't mind any of the traits I like using the kitten one cause then I can get a pet without having to use the phone
There's also the "gremlins" one (i hope i got the name right) and it's so annoying. My sim lives in an apartment w that trait and all of the household appliances break every night, it's a nightmare. He either has to repair them all by himself (which takes too much time) or replace them for simoleons (which he doesn't have much of)
Gremlins is amazing if you want to level up your Sims and upgrade your furniture/appliances fast. Each night everything breaks, your sim fixes them and level up and gains all the part they need to upgrade appliances all around the house. Once everything is upgraded to the max, go with that sim in other lots to fix and upgrade other lots. You can turn them into a freelancer so they get paid as they do.
I liked the cat hangout! The only problem I had with it was that my game would lag whenever the cats showed up (my sim took longer to move).
Same. A big dogs cause weird glitches.
I love filthy trait, just bc my sims farts randomly JASJKAS
Celebrity Home has got randos coming to my house. It gets annoying when modded, because now the game is more slower & no one is leaving on their own & just standing around, pissing on my lawn.
another lot trait I never used was cursed and Haunted unless Im building a haunted house
i made my vacation house on a dark ley line and i sent my couple there to woo hoo and now the toddler is a vampire đ§đ»ââïž so it worked!
On my simselfâs save file I put my friends home as a cat hangout bc in rl her mom is a cat lady and thereâs 20 strays living in their backyard. Every time I went to her house in my game it was no different than rl.
I use the cat and dog hangout mostly for public lots that can sometimes help the animals, like vet clinics etc, or abandoned lots. For filthy and other stuff, I have an apocalyptic gameplay and those are really useful to live in the realism of an apocalypse or just make lots look abandoned, so it depends on the gameplay I guess
Sims 4 makes no sense. They have a lot of traits that are not funny or doesnât match the needs of the gamer
i had the dark ley line trait then removed it when i realized i had mccc.and could just use cheats for a vmp babyđ
I mean....I like having different families and their homes and their home's histories often reflect them. Even if a trait seems useless, I eventually use it for some people.
The hidden, secret witch-among-mortals, cat shelter, cat island, or the cat lady gets the "cat-hangout."
Junkyards for Sims who actually collect scrap and make things and break down components get "dog hangout".
The non-celebrity who is faking their Instagram life but has rock-bottom self-esteem gets the rented "celebrity home." Embarrassment at their life-lie included.
Vampires who are family orientated or live in a tight-knit, class-obsessed vampire clan and they live in a mystic-world gets "vampire baby".
Hoarders/frat boys/filthy trailer park/basement dweller gets "filthy."
Thatâs true itâs super sad
If it can give idea, I recently use the dog hangout on a household, where I have built a specific sweet little house for the dogs (next to the main house of my sim), with a lot of beds, full bowls and toys. I have also add a dog bathtub (well, it is a cc from Ravesheen, but any bathtub would work too) to wash them. And they are free to run inside the house of my sim where she cuddle and play with them. And of course, she adopted one of them regurlarly (alright, everytime the previous one is dead... yeah, it's sad, but they all come back at night as ghost, so that's kinda ok XD)
And now, my sim has a VERY fertilized garden ... :)
Last time and only time I used the âcat lotâ trait was a couple years ago. It drove my âneatâ sim mad because every 15 seconds she was cleaning up cat vomit, having her house invaded by strays (before we started locking all the doors) and having her furniture ruined. I feel like the âcat lotâ trait was intentionally made to be extreme because we were giving the Devs hell about a pets pack in the first place. đ€Łđ€Ł
I have cat and dog hangout and I keep toys and litter boxes and vet treats for all the strays
I love the cat & dog hangouts because I take care of the sick, lonely babies and let them use my house as their own :')
I love all of the options we have and how the Sims react to them.
But I'll be honest. I rarely use most of them, lmao
I use cat and dog hangout when I want to adopt THEM ALL!! Also cat hangout is accurate. If they know you have that Friskies they are all over that house
The only lot challenge I use (unless I need a sim to level up in handiness) is simple living. I like the grocery shopping vibe.
I used the dog hangout lot trait for my fantasy storyline! I created a clan of people that bonded with the dogs, trained them, cared for them, etc. It was fun effectively having an army of dogs, haha!
i donât mind the cat or dog one for community lots. theyâre terrible for residential. why tf are strange dogs just walking in like they pay rent when my own dog isnât even paying rent yet
I hate the ones with the gremlin where everything breaks every night (unless its not supposed to happen every night)
I enjoy the cat and dog one, you can do a cat or dog cafe or i also use it to make a little cabin in the back of my house and make it a "shelter" for strays. it will have everything a pet needs to crash the night/day. :)
*me who casually uses the filthy lot trait with sims who are neat and perfectionists to absolutely torture them.*
I would make my sim max vet things, make it a cat hangout, add houses outside and give them those medicine treats, I loved the animals so much and it helped me add them to my family and move it to another family so more families with pets
Nah the cat and dog hangouts are legit. If you take care of them, they wonât be sick or sad. Itâs like having a variety of pets you arenât directly responsible for all the time that can come and go as they please. I love those ones. đ
The first one was agreeable⊠I donât get pets for my sims because I DONT WANT THEM TO DIE! But itâs also sad to see lost ones..
In sims 3 we can adopt cats and dogs⊠I wish we can adopt in 4 too
Honestly yeah? I was about to disagree with the first option, but I didn't know this part of it. You're gonna put the poor fur babies on my porch and then NOT let me adopt them? You monster.
you can adopt pets in sims 4 wdym?
@@DevaDragon911 you canât adopt strays on the street?
@@DilaraYAZICI actully if i am not mistaken i think you can. you just need to have a high enough friendship the stray cat or dog
Shift click add to family? I donât know if this works on animals or not
Those can all be useful in some ways, but for everyday gameplay it's better to use the others tbh. Playing with all the lot challenges seems like a really fun idea.
You can use cat or dog hangout if you wanted to do an animal shelter.
i like the cat hangout, I like to take care of them
Celebrity Home is good when you just wanna max out something like painting or writting and don't want to get people knocking at the door
I made a Christmas family w/ Father Christmas and wanted them to have twins but I accidentally clicked on the vampire lot trait so now I have two random vampire kids while the rest are spell castersđ€Šđœââïžđ
"i would only use vampire ley line if i really wanted a vampire baby" yeah thats kind of the point
I always used cat and dog hangout when i was younger. When the animals come around, I add them into my household lol
When the filthy lot trait is your reality đđ Yes indeed, i also agree that it's not fun to have a constantly dirty room all the time lmao
I just adopt all the strays. and when I run out of room i just act as if I adopted them and take care of them whenever they come
personally i love using the cat/dog lot trait as a way to find an animal to adopt of the street, sometimes i end up falling in love with more then one and i feel like thatâs okay but hopefully this helps it be less sad in some gameplays! â€ïžđđ»
The filthy lot challenge is good if your building a crackhouse.
So true about the cat and dog, itâs also why I never have my sims live in brindelton bay? I Jus see the little dogs and cats walking around and I always try to take them in đ so hard not to adopt all of them
Anytime I put cat or dog hangout on I make sure my sim has treats to make them feel better, builds relationships with them and give them foodđ
the most annoying lot trait for me would be lively neighbours, you have no idea how many enemies i made đđ
I like cat and dog hangout because I always help the strays. If I want a pet I usually find a stray and adopt it instead of making one in cas. For the strays I dont adopt, I befriend every new one I see and I leave pet bowls out for them. If I see a sick one I give it a wellness treat and if I see a dirty one I give it a bath.
I actually like the filthy one so my sim has something to do when her kids are at school
I remember I had a cat in the occult shop my girl owned and the poor kitty kept getting stuck on the shelves while slowing starving to death and meowing for his little wee life. It was so sad and no matter how I tried to fix it the kitty always ended up back on that shelf starving.
I give my NSB Extended ver which is my White gen's the celebrity lot traits in her starter home and she was already a 3 star celebrity! Cause it says it increases fames quicker as well BUT she still got the embarrassed moodlet. When she become the 4 star celebrity she got the happy moodlet lol
I choose the cat and dog hangout cause I always have a vet built onto my sims home. đ If they're hungry, I let my sim give them a treat.
itâs not even sad, i just canât get them out of my god damn house!!!
why did watching this give me my own play through idea :D
âUnless I want vampire babies..â
*
Moved into a celebrity home and worked on becoming a celebrity it only took a week of embarrassment but Iâm a celebrity nowđ€Ż
I have the dog hangout trait and thereâs this orange greyhound and a sheepdog that always go there and itâs so cute!
I use flithy as a lot triat when I want to use the fabricator or any eco lifestyle stuff as trash build up helps fill dumpsters faster for materials.
I only use the bad lot traits when I'm trying to torture my sims :D
Personally I hate Grody (i think it was called that) where your sim gets nauseous eating or using the bathroom. the moodlet sucks and theres no way to prevent or get rid of it you just have to wait.
No bc the stray animals make me so sad I literally end up with 1 sim and 7 strays in my house and food bowls outside for the hungry ones đđ
Wow lot traits do what lot traits are supposed to do!? Thatâs crazy!!
đđ
When I first got the cats and dogs I did both dog and cat hangout and I adopted all of thd sick animals just to take them to the vet
I love Filthy! I use it for slob sims or sims who are neat so they have lots to clean since they autonomously clean as it is. I also fine it's not so bad? Gremlins is worse, all your crap breaking lol
Cursed is the worst lot type ever. Like...I couldn't cook food without a fire starting and one time both of my fireplaces caught fire at once
A lot of them are very specific, but they could be an inspiration for a gameplay
When I want to make a nightmare house just put all the challenge lot traits and cat and dog hangout. Makes a fun playthrough
The challenge traits aren't supposed to be fun. The good ones are niche. They only benefit if they fit what you are trying to do.
Better tip is pointing out, you can change lot traits as your needs change. It's kinda cheap too. But so is setting them to your advantage to begin with.
TBH I usually turn filthy on but the house never seems to get dirty faster. I even had lazy and slob sims on a filthy lot and I still see no difference. I usually will have it on when I either have a maid service or I'm doing the but the dust aspirations
I love the cat and dog hangout....
