  • We recently fired up Dreamboat, our 1952 Harley-Davidson Panhead, that hasn't seen the light of day in 40+ years until we bought it a couple of months ago!
What started as an initial inspection to see what would be needed to get it started ended in actually riding it! We can't believe the shape this bike is in and how little was needed to get going again.
Watch as we work with our friends to bring her back to life at our shop in Charlotte, NC and stay tuned for more on this bike!
If you haven't watched the story of us finding and buying Dreamboat, you can click the links for chapter one and chapter two below.

I just read about Dean pat in the latest Enthusiasts magazine from HOG. Best to hear it run. So amazing it didn't need anything to get it up and running. Good job documenting this museum piece. That would be right at home in the Wheels Through Time.

Something of nice when you are used as a mechanic, this is real way to see the time and history. A mechanic watches around and gets piece of time like a Sherlock Homes, he knows when you lie.

Bravo. My first bike I built from paycheck to paycheck was a 1949 Pan in 1974. The first day she fired is still remembered. Respect the machine and it will respect you. It's not a hot rod, it's a cruiser. Cruise accordingly. Sounds like she is running hot, you might want to check your oil return.

Any copper washers that you pulled off of that Linkert should have been heated up until they were red-hot, then dipped in water to anneal them, that way they'll have a better seal when you reassemble the carb......

  • @worldssickestmedia2713

What I learned from the old timer that taught me about old cars and Harleys. Let old seized up carbs soak in mineral spirits over night. It makes em easier to take apart. Lessens the chance of breaking sh!t during teardown.
