Viral Kojic Acid, Turmeric & Lemon Bar Soap ⚠️

  • 🌟 Skin Care Alert: Not All Trends Are for Everyone!🌟
💡 Did you know that viral skincare products like Kojic Acid soaps can cause more harm than good if not used correctly? Here’s a quick guide to keep your skin happy:
    1. Bar Soaps, especially those with Kojic Acid, might be too harsh for your face. They can strip away natural oils and disrupt your skin barrier, leading to dryness and irritation. Opt for liquid cleansers and always use lukewarm water.
    2. Kojic Acid Dosage Matters: The concentration of Kojic Acid is crucial. A higher percentage doesn’t always mean better results. Concentrations greater than 1% can lead to contact dermatitis and irritation, undoing any benefits by worsening hyperpigmentation.
    3. Formula and Sensitivity:Even if you don’t have sensitive skin, it's vital to spot test. Kojic Acid is not generally recommended for sensitive skin due to its potential for causing redness and irritation.
    4. SPF and Moisturizer are Musts:Always follow up with a moisturizer and SPF. Kojic Acid can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so protecting it is key.
    5. Understand the Science: Kojic Acid is a tyrosinase inhibitor, which means it helps reduce melanin production and lighten dark spots. But remember, it's potent and needs to be introduced slowly into your skincare routine.
🌿 Aftercare Tips:To minimize irritation, look for moisturizers with skin-repairing ingredients like ceramides, oatmeal, niacinamide, and cica. Always use SPF during the day!
📚 Wise Choices:While Kojic Acid can be fantastic for reducing dark spots and brightening skin, it’s not suitable for everyone. Be mindful of the products you choose and how you use them.
🔍 Stay Informed and always do your research before jumping on the skincare trend bandwagon. Your skin will thank you!

This is true. I also gave my skin a while to reset when I got serious about it--no makeup, VERY basic gentle ingredients. I realized I was fixing side effects and symptoms instead of the root cause. If you've been messing with your skin for long enough, at some point, you're constantly fixing things that you've caused with the wrong products (right for the issue, wrong for the root). I found that by the time I finally gave my skin a rest after I initially started messing with it, My skin type was even different than I initially thought!! It's important to think about when you first started noticing skin problems and why, a lot of people only start addressing their skin health after they start wearing irritating makeup and noticing reactions....

Then I used a warm wash cloth in the morning to cleanse along with the calm+restore serum and my sunscreen moisturizer. That's it, and my skin healed within 4-6 weeks which is how long it takes. You have to keep the routine very simple bc your skin is super vulnerable at this time. Hope this helps.

Hi Dr Alexis, I have very hard to control seborrheic dermatitis as I am Irish it has caused broken capillaries also some hyperpigmentation . Is laser the best treatment for this? and do those lasers use Diathermy as I have a Spinal cord stimulator, so I can not have diathermy..

Water the that thang down. My first time using it, I wet the soap bar and put it in my face and it burned so fast as I was RUNNING to wash it off. Now I just rubbed on my hand and then wet it. Creating bubbles.

So, she's using that soap to lighten her complexion?
if so, that's truly sad that our community still views dark skin as unattractive
