Helen Roseveare explains why "Jesus is worth it."

- Dr. Helen Roseveare (21 September 1925 - 7 December 2016) was an English Christian missionary, doctor, and author. She worked with Worldwide Evangelization Crusade in the Congo from 1953 to 1973, including part of the period of political instability in the early 1960s. She practiced medicine and also trained others in medical work.
Helen Roseveare was born in Haileybury College in Hertfordshire, England in 1925. Her father was Martin Roseveare, the designer of ration books for the United Kingdom used during the Second World War. Her brother, Bob Roseveare, was a wartime codebreaker. She became a Christian as a medical student at Newnham College, Cambridge in 1945. She was involved with the Cambridge Inter-Collegiate Christian Union, attending prayer meetings, Bible study classes, and evangelical events.
After completing her studies, Roseveare applied to WEC to be a medical missionary. In 1953, she went to the Congo, where she was assigned to the northeast provinces. She built a combination hospital/ training center in Ibambi in the early 1950s, then relocated to Nebobongo, living in an old leprosy camp, where she built another hospital. After conflict with other staff at the hospital, she returned to England in 1958.
She returned to Congo in 1960. In 1964 she was taken prisoner by rebel forces and she remained a prisoner for five months, enduring beatings and r apes. She left the Congo and headed back to England after her release but returned to the Congo in 1966 to assist in the rebuilding of the nation. She helped establish a new medical school and hospital, as the other hospitals that she built had been destroyed, and served there until she left in 1973.
After her return from Africa, she had a worldwide ministry speaking and writing. She was a plenary speaker at the Urbana Missions Convention three times. Roseveare died on 7 December 2016 aged 91 in Northern Ireland.

To live is Christ and to die is gain! Wow, being able to say that it was a privilege to suffer in that way, that's the type of mentality we as Christians will have to maintain as the great tribulation proceeds. What an honor to be a living sacrifice for Christ Jesus. Amen!

It's tough to make yourself measure up to a person like this lady. She is tough, but more so, she is a true disciple of our Lord. I know she made Jesus smile. I can't wait to hear the stories in heaven someday of the people she brought to the Lord.

Romans 12:1 and Philippians 3:10.
The evil that was inflicted upon this dear lady and her suffering of it is not a reflection of what is written in Romans 12:1. Presenting our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God is something totally different to what she endured during her captivity.
Her suffering is more accurately explained in John 15:18-19:
“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Sometimes things can get lost in translation but I felt it important to clarify that the Lord (as pertaining to Romans 12:1) doesn't want us to ever conflate the evil conduct of man with a sense that it is ever our duty to endure such evil; this is not His doing. Jesus already paid the price for us on the cross. However, there is a spiritual war that is being fought and contended with beyond the veil; satan and his agents (whose destiny is the lake of fire, Amen!) targeted this woman through men who opened themselves up to be under extreme demonic influence. The reason why evil manifests itself in such ways is because human beings have been given free will by Almighty God and unfortunately it is the abuse of this by man combined with the hate satan has inparticularly for inheritors of the Kingdom that ultimately causes evil to manifest as it did in this horrific chapter in Dr Roseveare's life. I Thank God for her life and I also thank Him that he has declared vengeance as His very own (Deuteronomy 32:35).

Wow what an encouraging testimony. It is a privilege for God to trust us with suffering. This has changed my view on life and God.
Holiness.
Help me to see that You are Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord, and that You want me to be likewise in every way, each and every day!
Without Holiness, I shall not enter into Your Kingdom, and I will not be able to see Your Face, as I then will walk out of Your Grace!
Teach me and help me to fear You as I should - in Holy fear ; so I through Your Word can understand this very clear!
Give me grace to pursue Holiness even more from now on ; so I'm not satisfied until Your work in me is done!

Dear brother/sister in christ please pray for me. I have finished my chemotherapy for cancer. While undergoing treatment my two daughters moved out suddenly, my mother died, and my wife almost died due to covid. I suffer from anxiety attacks and depression. I suddenly have become an empty nester. I have been crying every day since February 27th the day my eldest daughter left. I am anxious about my situation and feel like i'm not needed anymore. Feel like a senior in an old folks home just waiting for death or the rapture. I'm expected back at work on August 3rd and I am fearful of going back. I have 2.5years before I can get a full pension. Am in debt for$26,000. My sisters are fighting for money from my mothers house. And call me often to complain. I have prayed to the Lord to take my life. Please pray for me.
Don't worry. Just hold on and trust God. His help is on its way. He would help you in Jesus's Name, Amen.🙏🏾

Thankful am I to You,

The Hebrew word at the end of this prayer is "emunah," which has the same root as the word, "amen."

Millions prayed for peace in the 1930's " Thy Will be done" they begged in the Lord's Prayer. The result? Six years of the biggest war in human history.
Yes. Jesus himself stated that there will be wars and rumours of wars before his return. If you bothered to study the bible, you would see in prophecy that Israel would be destroyed, the Jews would scatter the lands and later they would return to their land from all around the world. This all came about after World War 2 when Israel was reinstated as a country, partially because of what happened to the Jews in WW2. So yeah, the LORD let evil people commit evil crimes to fore fill his will, but he did that as well plenty of times in the days of the bible.
You can ignore the LORD if you choose. That is your free will, and he won’t stop you. You can worship any religion (including yourself) and he won’t stop providing for the Just and the unjust.
BUT, the day will come when the harvest is gathered. The people who repented and believed will be like wheat. They were born, grew strong, thrived, produced much yield, grow old and died. Those who choose to ignore him are like weeds. They too will be born, will thrive among the wheat, grow old and die. Then the wheat will be separated from the weeds, and the weeds will be bundled together and incinerated.
The LORD wants as many people to trust him, love him and be with him as possible, but free will allows you to say ‘no thanks, not for me’.

She also wrote Living Stones, Living Faith, Living Holiness, Count it all joy, Digging Ditches, Give Us this mountain, He Gave Us a valley.
