This is the most simple yet comprehensive explanation I've heard yet
Excellent video... Quick and to the point, no excessive bumper intro and no wasted time showing off your amazing plants that would add nothing to the video. You, Sir, should do an entire grow series.
Straight to the point, valuable information, exactly what I needed. Thank you.
I've been watching videos on this topic for approx. 2 hours now and this is honestly the first video I've seen with 1) a real/ proper explanation and 2) the most likely solution to my problem!.. Thanks so much for this - it really helped A LOT!!!
I dig the way this guy explains things. I'm not sure if it is his tempo or his gestures or what but the explanations seem to resonate better than most.
THANK YOU! I’ve been researching all day and nothing explained exactly why my sage was doing this and you just nailed it! Great job!
Wow I watched a few videos on this topic before this one and I'm telling you this is the best explanation yet and it worked great ! Thank you for the info and great straight to the point explanation .
Big Wrath totally agree with your statement. Great explanation. I have tomatoes doing this and it makes total sense. Thanks for the video and comments!
This helps me a whole lot! I am growing Pepper Plants down in South Florida's Heat...
Dude, you eased my worries. You have described exactly what is going on. Hats off my friend. Thanks. Happy growing!
5 years later and I'm so glad I found this video! Having this issue now. Just transplant and switch to new light and now I know why it's happening. Thanks!
Dude, I’ve been trying to find the answer to my problem alllllllll daaaaaay and you answered it in 3 mins in a vary comprehensive way. Thank you so much!!!
This is the best explanation of leaf curl I’ve ever heard. Thank you! 😃
I love how passionate you are it's awesome !! Really good teacher
dude. You need to be more famous than you are. great info
Your right, I’ve watched everybody and have a select few who seemingly all use very similar methods. This guy is a master for sure, second year southeastern Washington outdoor cultivator. I got a little over 13 lbs. off 7 plants and did many things wrong my first year on my own. Right now people that get to see my garden can’t believe the difference and I credit all the CZcams master growers yielding their secrets, lifetime of knowledge .
You have given me reassurance that things will be fine. I have a small olive tree that I brought indoors and placed in a west-facing window (with some sunlight mitigation -- moderate screening). The abundant new leaves are curling to some degree and your explanation is right on the money. Thank you!
Thanks for the explanation, i have been watching this issue for the whole month but only this gave me the correct explanation, Thanks a lot.
Best description by far.... Thank you!! Seriously!
You just answered my plant problem... Very good explanation and right to the point.! This how a video should be made.
Thank you for explaining this in a way I can understand made so much sense and really like how you “feel” like a plant really in touch with them and I appreciate that thank you ! You’re like a plant doctor 🥼!!
These videos are truly amazing! thank you garden sage!
i like ur gestures of presenting the leaves curl Lol, thanks for the explanation
Great explanation! I spent the morning trying to find the answer. And here it is. Thanks!
Thank you so much!!!!!!! you just saved one of my green babies. They are just 14 day out of ground and one plant is just starting to curl up on some of the leaves. I could not figure out what was going on because the others are just fine. So once again thank you.
Excellent...I was concerned! Thank you!
I seen a couple fan leaves twist upside down today an it really tripped me out an this is literally the only video I found that explains it thanks 🙏🏽
in 34 years of life this was the best person i ever saw explainig this so acurate and i mean this man can teach you anything looool love you man just got sub i wish to know you before cheers
Wow you’re an extraordinarily good teacher!
Many thanks for your practical answer. I have 2 troughs of peas growing,. the first were from seed the second which sits along side it, were bought from the nursery as seedlings..Both share the same sun aspect. The bought seedlings have developed the curl as mentioned.. your answer made so much sense ..Thank you.
Man this just saved my life phewwww I was worried but they look so healthy so It was driving me mad thinking what the hell is wrong, this answered it perfect thankyou
love your enthusiasm you can tell you really love your plants and very smart
What a fantastic video! This was so much help, nothing else I found mentioned the leafs turning over, really put me at ease, thought I ruined them!
Such a great video! I never thought of it like this. I've been turning my big pot like a cotton candy machine turning to make cotton candy. THANK YOU !!
I always rotate each pot slightly everyday so the fan and light get in there from all angles. Helps keep em strong too
You're amazing, this answered every question I had- thank you!
Thank you! I’ve been trying to find the answer for this issue and no one had a answer but you.
this helped me a lot! I was all worried about my plant!
Great video, Green Planet! We love your stuff!
I've been googling and googling and just could not find an answer, I swear you're about the only source on the internet explaining this - My problem was with 100's of papaya seedlings and was really concerned I am going to lose them all. I agree with David P below, your channel needs to be boosted big time. Thank your explaining this. SubD!!
Awesome explanation and easy to understand .You just helped a lot of people including myself. Thanks brother!!
Hey man your one smart grower. I’m brand new and this immediately answered my question.
the perfect advice i was lookin for lol thanks man for getting straight to the point unlike every other blogger
i love how you use your body to BE the plant! YES!!! good tips too!
Yeah you're awesome. Great information. And delivered with passion and style. Thank you.
I was looking for a solution to my leaf curl on four o'clocks. It's only happening in one area of my yard. I never thought about what you talked about. I'm REALLY intrigued. I live in South Florida in a tropical or subtropical environment. (It's HOT, any way you look at it!!)
I subscribed today. 😊 I'm looking forward to learning more about my garden thru you. For that... Thank you.
I also rehab wildlife and raise monarch butterflies successfully!! I'm a retired medical worker. Thanks again for the great tip in this video. I'm going to start today. 🦩🦋🤗
Great explanation. I’d just gotten a bird of paradise that had been indoors. I brought it out to the patio in the shade to water and 72 hours later the leaves are curling. Never seen it happen before and became concerned. Back inside it goes once it’s dried out some. Thanks for the help.
Best video I've seen on this thank you
Now, this was very well explained, and makes perfect since. I just upped my wattage from 200 dimmable to 400 and also lowered the water level in my res because I noticed I probably stated with a little too much in the res for the first week of my plants life. After just an hour or so I say this issue crop up. Looks like it was NOOB induced... Thanks for the info and presenting it in a clear and concise way!
Thank you. Quick and to the point but very helpful. Much appreciated.
Omg! THANK YOU! I WAS FREAKIN OUT ABOUT MY SEEDLINGS. Only second year growing by seed, really great info!
Glad to hear The Garden Sage was able to help you out, thank you for watching!
Excellent info!!!! Hit the nail on the head
really like your gestures, great show!!!
Literally PERFECT EXPLANATION
Clear and concise. Thanks mate.
A true Gem! Amazing video!
excellent explanation. very clear and easy to understand. thank you!
Good advice, enjoyed the movement. Thanks.
Great explanation, very informative. Thank you.
only seen this in a greenhouse. the plants are super green and i thought it was the rapid growth. cheers
Great explanation👍 A very common issue that is easily resolved if you know👊
Thanks David!! I appreciate that information.
this REALLY makes sense! Had a hanging basket of Periwinkles and all of the green leaves rolled into tubes...They stayed that way for about 4 days until I finally lost patience and tossed them out.
What a relief to hear. My san fran. heirloom tomatoes are only in need of relocation! Thanks for the tips!
Thank you for this video.. I bought a Bird of Paradise and was using a growlight. Yesterday I repotted him (a month after bringing him home) because his orignial soil was too dense and stayed wet for too long. I'll pull back his light when I get home. THANK YOU for this video.
When we had a drastic weather change almost 80 degrees one day then frost two days later, my newly emerging dahlias(started indoors) started doing this. Thanks for the info.
Thank you for being straight forward
Best explanation I've heard. I planted 2 perennial hibiscus a couple weeks ago and the new leaves are doing exactly that. I check for pest and there is none. The nursery I bought it from could not provide a good explanation except I may not be giving it enough water which I know is not the case. Wish I could post a picture of my plant.
Super helpful and concise!
Thank you so much. Excellent video.
Thank you..so much for sharing your wisdom. Great info. Top Notch!!
great video helped me out a bunch as a new grower thanks a bunch
Thanks! Great info! I had a pot of young Rue plants that I separated into individual pots. Shortly thereafter, some of the leaves started to curl. I'm going to back off the light a little bit and see what happens.
Thanks for all the wisdom !
Wholey SHIT Dude.... You just solved my problem!!!! my plant is cupping down on the center leaf and i just switched from natural sunlight and a dixie cup to a 7 gal smart pot and an LED set up, all my other plants are thriving except for that one and i could Not figure out why??? Thank You!!!

Awesome! We're glad David was able to help you solve your problem. Happy growing! :)
Same exact thing here. Also a first time indoor grow. How did they turn out ?
good looking out.jus switched to hydro and wasn't sure if it was a nut problem or too much light...but you answered it
Thank you so much for your plant knowledge. I had noticed that my leaves on my seedling were curling as you had described and I was confused and getting pretty stressed out. Thankfully I came across your helpful video and you eased my worry about my plant. You just earned a subscriber!
Just just the information I wad looking for. thank you!!!

thanks for the video and the information! by the way.. i love the thumbnail! it looks like the garden sage is a lit breakdancer :D
Thanks man! I was concerned that it was something bad. I backed off my lighting, and hopefully it gets better. Helped a ton!
Thanks for your enlightenment!
Oooooooh, that’s why they curl, my plants properly do it because we have a heat strike. Great video, I learned a lot of this video!
Thanks, you helped me understand what is going on with my plants. I was thinking that I would have to get rid of them, and I brought in a humidifier
Awesome explanation. No bs.
Thanks a lot, mate! Well explained!
Great advice... I think you nailed my problem...... Thx
This video was a BIG help thank you!
I have a small outdoor grow. AK-47 seeds from AMS. from 3/5 (planting in starter pots in the window sill), til the heat shot up in the Spring to 90 something, everything was going so well! everyday was like Christmas. this year, the heat came early, and sporadically .it'd be in the low 70's for a week, then boom! 92, 95, and back down to the '70's. in the Spring! this pattern of mild to suddenly harsh sun, lasted all Summer. when instructors talk about "beginners'' problems, I identify w/ it, tho I've been growing outdoors for 10, 11 years now. the more I learn, the less I seem to know. anyway, from what seems to have been dehydration(I wasn't giving the girls enough water, as the sun would erupt like a flame) the leaves started getting yellow, and curling up. I watered them in the AM, like a madman thru August, and they became more green and less yellow, but the problem never really went away. I was shocked that the plants put up w/ my excising leaves left and right, right and left. they improved once I woke up about the watering, then transplanting them for the last time of this grow, about 3 weeks ago( today being 9/1),which really made them ,and me, happy. but the curling never really stopped. it seemed to take on a life of it's own. anyway, the buds are on schedule, starting a couple weeks ago. it seems like in spite of themselves(and me), they are progressing to the finish line, w/ leaves that still get yellow, and curl, as most of the plants' leaves are green, and apparently healthy. I use 'chicken soup for the soil' once a week, sometimes 10 days. and recently started w/ 'Bloom Kaboom', for the flowering stage...any tips are appreciated.
Dude sounds like a boss!
👏👏👏
That's what's up
True thanks for this video... it rains here & 60f cold breeze winds
Thank you so much for this very informative video. I was worried about my new tomato plants and didn't know what to do.
Very useful. I was worried for nothing.
I watch all your vidz budd...explains so easy
Perfect explanation!
My tomato plants are in direct sun light. They are green but have this curl... I have also notice the bottom leaves and some of the steams are turning yellow to brown drying. Due to 90 to 105 temps, i water 1- 2 times a day... {desert conditions }
Keep it simple ,,,subbed you just lowered my blood pressure back to normal lol
Thank you yesterday I put the light to 75 percent in the morning I notice they curly a bit , after watching this video I’m going to lower it to 50 percent thank you bro
Thanks for helping me figure out what was going on with my plant! My adult aloe started doing this after I moved it to a windowsill a bit too fast (it was getting etiolated from too little light so I had to do something). If it doesn't stop in a few weeks, I'll need to figure out a better spot.
GreenPlanet Dave you are a very good speaker great video
My Blue Dream clone is doing this. The other strains are taking up water more efficiently, but the BD has been finicky. Thank you for the insight and encouragement!
@@rowdybruh4003 Yes. I moved the led lights further away and watered less often.
Very well put!!!!!!!!!! Thanks, and you added another subscriber!!
well delivered... other people would take 20 mins to explain this
