I feel everything Katya is feeling. I quit smoking before surgery too and it was the most depressing thing I've ever done. Its been almost 9 years for me and i am completely over cigarettes now but I can still feel that sadness. Keep going Brian you can do it!!

It's absolutely baffling how the nicotine kept Katya calm. Never have I seen this phenomenon before. Normally when people quit smoking they become grumpy and tired, and it seems the opposite has happened to Katya.
I'm not about to diagnose Katya, but I can say that stimulants tend to have a sobering/focusing effect on people with ADHD like myself (it's why we're usually prescribed them). I used to self-medicate with cigarettes for that reason, before I kicked it. I've had the thought before, but this episode (IF it's indicative of her energy off-camera) does kind of reinforce my theory that she might have it too lol.
I was going to say the same, I have Adhd and I can see a lot of the symptoms on her and even things on her history that happen more commonly in neurodivergent people, it would explain the calming effect of the nicotine, it does the same to me.

I quit vaping the same day Katya stopped smoking and I didn’t realize it or plan it that way but right now I FEEL EVERY SINGLE WORD SHE SAYS IN MY SOUL! Nicotine is by far the hardest thing I’ve had to quit. It’s awful. I started vaping in 2020 because the world was ending and I wanted to see if I liked it. Turns out, I did Mary. 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️

I mean it's complicated. I personally liked it because of 1. the sandals made it ridiculous and 2. knowing Jimbo's clown aesthetic and sense of humor from other seasons. But I can understand people just seeing that clip and being rubbed the wrong way. Drag (and Drag Race) certainly can have a streak of misogyny in it. And gay men are not immune to objectifying women with the male gaze.
That SAID, people online losing their minds need a serious perspective check. Art is something that you can react to and like and not like without being hyperbolic and outraged.

If you notice, it's a lottttttttt of white people making the argument about supposed "misogyny" and it sounds identical to some of the talking points the far right is using against drag queens. They say drag is like black face because it is men making a mockery of women. So it's kind of weird to have drag fans making those same points. If you're saying the same things as far right bigots like Stephen Crowder, Ben Shapiro, Matt Walsch, etc. then maybe stop with the misogyny lectures and look in the mirror.

Joking aside I hope Katya stays the course. Cigs killed several of my family members. My personal experience with Bhakti yoga and meditation have helped me with a lot of cravings. The real tea is just you have to find something else to do. Its why people gain weight when they quit smoking (conversely, why ballerinas smoke to stay thin): they just eat instead. Bhakti yoga rituals and meditation became so fulfilling, that id just rather do that than indulge worldly cravings. Its a much more constructive method than "dont smoke because its bad," because instead it becomes "dont smoke because you dont want to cut into your bhakti time."
Anyways! I love this episode.
