I was first told of this story in July 2019 sitting on a beach at Lockhart River, Queensland, Australia, and I was looking straight out to the peninsula Narcisse was abandoned, found by local tribe and lived for 17 years. The man who told me the story was a gentleman by the name of Peter . Peter is a direct descendant of the tribe that found Narcisse and took him in. Amazing story and proof that Australian Aborigines were not savages, we are mostly a kind race who will help another person out. Unfortunately, this contributed to the demise during colonialism by the English. I met a young french traveller on the esplanade in Cairns and through talking he was travelling up Cape York, I gave him the names of 2 women in Aboriginal communities on the west and east coast of Cape York. To my surprise he visited the west coast community of Aurukun where he me with the contact I provided him and she took him in, provided shelter for him and advice about the local area. Pourquoi toujours spécifier "de retour CHEZ LUI" ? La Vendée n'était plus "chez lui" (Il voulait d'ailleurs dès son plus jeune age la quitter...) Il a été arraché à sa famille aborigène, enlevé. Je crois que l'on peut aisément considérer qu'il aurait été plus heureux de rester en Australie. Cela étant dit "La vraie histoire du sauvage blanc" est un beau livre que j'aimerais lire avec grand plaisir. J'avais lu "Le sauvage blanc" de François Garde mais il était à mon sens bien trop romancé.
Il y aussi une BD (3 tomes) elle est assez différente des BD en général . L'histoire est magnifique j'ai vue l'auteur en vrai Chanouga il est vraiment doué .
Quel chance d'avoir pu vivre cette fabuleuse histoire.
