North Korea’s Money Machine.
North Korea hacked into the personal emails of a close aide to the South Korean president in November 2023. The breach was revealed on 14th February 2023. A local newspaper claimed that hackers had accessed Yoon's trip schedule. Messages sent by the president had also been stolen. North Korea uses cyber hacking to steal both money and information. Its cyberhackers seek to steal large sums of money, often in cryptocurrency, to fund the regime and its nuclear weapons programme. It is estimated to have stolen as much as 25 thousand crore rupees since 2016. This money is used to fund North Korea’s nuclear program and for the comfort of the Supreme Leader.
