Crazy part is 90% of people in Southern Africa can dance so effortlessly. It's crazy. From the smallest of children to the adults and everybody inbetween. Weight doesn't even matter. It's like their legs have no bones. But SA dance in particular just slaps different. I looooove house dance in general😍😍😍

Also, you can’t keep up with the moves... a lot of Americans have just hopped on the gwara gwara which is something we did like 10 years ago, literally every month there’s a new dance.

I've been listning to this music the whole summer (Major League) you have to read the comments to understand what you are watching. First, appreciate that is music is not influenced by American music AT ALL. So it is more freedom of expression. If you notice. NO VIOLENCE, NO DISREPCTING WOMEN. NO COLORISM. just none of the BS that black Americans are bombarded wtih daily. To me it is the most current up todate education we have about the Continent of African and the many languages spoken there. You notice how happy they are? Notice how unified they are. I could be wrong. I doubt it. This music is more than music. It is healing. To see black bodies dance in a land that is theirs in an environment that is the most beautiful in the world with music that is made by men and women in their homes for the most part. I don't even know what the top songs are in the U.S. anymore because a new Amapiano song comes out every 15 seconds. So while you are looking at the moves, appreciate that you are looking at pure African music from the heart w/o any corporate influence. It really is an experience in a return to our roots--where ever that may be.

Traditionally, southern Africans use a lot of footwork in their dances, kinda like how West/central Africans wind and grind their crotches😂 so footwork and bring light on our feet is old old old.....
Modern Dance are never discussed or planned..its an attitude, it can be influenced by anything (like the pouncing cat dance) ... U just dance whatever and if people feel it, they join, and it explodes over time...
Amapiano is a type of music, and each type comes with its own dance moves _which are adapted to each song... In between you fill with your own personality /freestyle - which can also catch on sand become a dance craze.. Lit

Amapiano is practically a collection of Dances. You dance any move to any song, along as it goes with the beat

The dances evolved with the music. So as a new dance move comes up, its incorporated in to the older moves. Hence there are so many Amapiano dances. But each has a name and a point in which it blew up.
So the term Amapiano dance is a blanket term and more of a vibe now.

Amapiano is the type of music they are listening to while doing those dances and then as for the dance you just vibe to it and mix dances that fit in 😂

You all!most got it broh. ... Every dance move must be relevant to what the song is about .... For example if u see me dancing then act as if I'm knocking on the door is cz the lyrics say "Qoqoda" meaning knocking

Why is that we as Africans need a salute from Americans to believe in what we doing!?

    • @pump1180

Because they the ones with the resources to take people international. For example burna boy and wizkid and Davido are all signed by American producers and look how much international success they’ve found
