- This book is available for pre-order from today (date of video launch) and it slaps. There's lots of Space Marine stuff, Black Shields and Shattered Legions rules, which are fire, but there's chunk of Solar Auxilia as well. The Battle for Beta-Garmon, an expansion for Warhammer, The Horus Heresy.

Slight correction, automata type doesn't give immunity to instant death. For most mechanicum automata, that usually comes from the atomantic reactors that they carry, same as dreadnoughts.
I was about to say this too! Thank you!
Black shields seem like a perfect candidate for the alpha legion's mobius configuration; a tough expendable roadblock that ties up enemy characters and earns you points doing so.
Shattered Legion - hell yes. Arbitor Ian gives a great overview of how this set of rules will work
As a general info, the 5 core missions are a copy-paste of those from the Siege of Chtonia book, which in turn were a copy-paste of those from the event at Warhammer World.
I'm past the 50+ Horus books and currently onto the Solar War book 6, never thought I'd make it. Beta-Garmon, aka "better if the Titans kill each other here than on Terra".
Been hanging out for this one based on the previews; your review has just made me more excited.
Feels like this should be the template for expansion books for now on… as you said, having something for everyone instead of just catering to a small smattering of legions.
I want a heresy army so badly
What would you start with?
Just one? I have twelve, and am actively planning a thirteenth!
I have four right now. The game is so so sick
Can’t wait to see this in one of your Bat Reps Winters.
It’s difficult to find a 30k game locally so I rely on your channel to game vicariously. Keep up the good work!
I'm hoping that I can recreate my Chymerae Blackshields with Gene-bulked and Pariah Armour. Yes, the rules were somewhat counter-intuitive but they did represent Thunder Warriors pretty well. Having said that, the Oaths that were covered in the video made Blackshields very tempting.
Yeah I’m working on a thunder warrior army and I’ve been waiting on this for that as well
Me too my army has been sitting waiting except for test games
Been waiting for the Blackshield rules (painted all my HH stuff in my own scheme), the vets as line and the flesh is weak sound awesome.
I’m actually quite excited about this one.
I too will be adding Solar Auxilia, in the form of Metal Vostroyan
Looking forward to this, thank you good sir! Lore always!
TURN 1 PRIMARCH DUELS in the middle of the battlefield incoming!
(new "Clash Atop the Ghal-Zammad" mission)
11mins in, I'm wondering if those weapons are conversions or an upcoming new kit for the Blackshields. Interesting.
They look like conversions. Some of the Marines have weapons taken from the Orlock kit. They still look cool, they're just not new kits.
As dankirk said they look to be conversions but it does make me hopeful that we still get a bunch of wargear options for blackshields
@@dankirk25, ah! That explains why some looked familiar. I'm now trying to figure out which bits they might be. I personally like the heavy bolter/stubber feel; which might be working as an autocannon, I assume. Will have to wait until I see their wargear rules.
Is there anything in there like the old Blackshield Marauder unit, which lets you do stupid modeling tricks like a unit of marines armed with lasguns (because all their boltguns broke and the lasguns are all they've been able to scavenge)?
Yes
My one concern allayed. Thank you.
Could you specifically say what old Blackshield Marauder options have been carried over:
Are there still Xenos Deathlocks, chain axes, pariah armour, pariah bolters and flamers; the ability to field one special weapon per 5 men such as Xenos Deathlocks and rotor cannons and hand flamers; rad grenades for the Marauder Chief (is there still a Marauder Chief?), does the Nemean Reaver still exist or the Reaver Lord to lead them?
I like that the front cover of the BETA-Garmon book stars the Alpha Gammon. 😂
Excellent stuff! More 30k & TOW please chum 😊
I am kind of confused, perhaps you can help me, I don't play the miniatures nor anything related, I am into the lore, books and stuff like that, is this book worth it as reading material, as a complement to the HH/Siege books?
I would say, if you already get source books for the lore, the other Heresy supplements and the big rule book for example, then you'll want this one too. If you don't, don't.
The Garm of Batle-Bameron
Quick question, but do we know if Eternal Vendetta would allow you to select Custodes as the target? Because THAT is something I can narratively get behind.
No. Only legions
@@wintersSEOAh gotcha. Thanks for the reply!
Unfortunately, I don't think the new company command squad can be taken by consuls as consuls are not considered centurions (pg. 104 liber astartes/hereticus).
I've tried to summarize the Shattered Legions rules three times now. I'm convinced there's no good way to do it.
The part that bothers me, from what I've heard, is that you have to count the number of models every phase, which would be counting models 24 times for every unit in a four turn game. That's wild, and not in a great way
yeah blackshields
There should be no word bearers shattered legions
Between Calth and the silent purges, Word Bearers should absolutely be able to make shattered legions
Wow, Shattered Legions was so much easier to run last edition
Sounds good. That last book was a dud maybe this is a good standard.
Shattered Legions rules sound great.
This book "slaps" ???
I think ' you can do this but don't be a dick' should be added to a lot of rules etc
Sharterd Legion can't have any of the 3 legions specific units?
No Iron hands morlock or Salamanders firedrake or Ravenguard Talon jump packs.
The shatters Legion is unplayable.
I absolutely rebuke the stupid retcon of the Selucid Thorakites and Prosperine Spireguard into Solar Auxilia regiments. Atbitrary dumb lore changes
Inferno mentioned there were three main regimental types from Prospero, including an expeditionary regiment, the spireguard and the airguard. So you can definitely imagine these as the more expeditionary - ie solar formed - elements of the Guard, something which Inferno also presents :)
How can the Betagarmonn book a good one with no blood angels content (who lead the action) and shattered legions content (who lore wise weren’t really involved)?
I’ve had the chance to flick through this and it’s a hot mess…writing on a par with the ‘iconic’ ‘forgotten’ battle of siege of Cthonia…a phrase that appears throughout that book and is completely oxymoronic. GW writers in general don’t seem to have any grasp of grammar and vocabulary…marketed as ‘the deep void’ wars between the shattered legions and Horus’ advancing forces this book would made more sense.
And when is anybody going to call out the lack of Azkaellon and the sanguinary guard?
