That GR86 is awesome. Converted to USD that's honestly an absolute bargain considering the base GR86 is going for around 40k USD.
Yeah it does compared to the GR86 TRD Cup car from Toyota which is around $125k, with just 212 hp
It will probably be closer to 75k in the states you know how we get taxed lol.
The base model gr86 is $28/$30k by me in Midwest

I think I would go for the gr86 seems a bargain for what you get
Basically a 700k premium over a brand new stock Nismo is incredibly dumb considering what it costs to build one, crazy.
Not even close to the level of modified the Zero R was.
Gintani makes better exhausts and u can build a 2k hp gtr for 200k and if the engine goes rebuild it 5 times for 1 million so the hks ain't worth it unless u got 500 mil and 1 mil is pocket change
Italdesign skyline is actually worth 1 mil because it's super cool u can buy a used gtr equal to the hks one for 400k or 500k from someone and it'll have the same reliability
I wouldn't pay over 500k 4 the hks 1 but for 500k it's a good buy imo. Italdesign gtr is a collectors edition special gtr but the hks one isn't anything special u can slap together the Same parts for 200k after u buy 1
It was a brand new Nismo with stock aero and interior. Upgraded TE37s Rays Volk wheels from the OEM Rays Volk Wheels.... 4.3l built engine - drivetrain has a built trans im assuming

With HKS being such an incredible company, I can only imagine how amazing an HKS R35 GTR would be. Completely blown away with the aesthetics too as that is not something you would think HKS specializes in. 🤩

HKS GTR... great! ... but starting off with a Nismo Edition and then proceed to rip out everything and put HKS bits in seems a bit odd.

GTR, yes, but the 86 platform is all about buying a base vehicle with potential and then modifying it yourself over time to the point where it suits your driving style and budget. I wish they had done an A90 widebody instead.

When you’re paying a million dollars for a Nissan the last thing I’d be getting excited about is if it comes with certain wheels and tires.
HKS is cool but 690 usd for 35 is not justified for what you can get for that money. Sad that these companies think everyone who likes cars are filthy rich and i am sure there are people willing to pay that price. Honestly by doing this stuffs they are killing future enthusiast.
The HKS was pretty cool but I'd still prefer the 400R that was at the show😎

Lol the profit margin... There is no way you take a 100k margin car... supe it up with no matter how many parts that you make it worth another 900k..... maybe if it had lineage in race or something? but no does it beat the competition out there in numbers on tracks??? the value isnt there if its actually 1miilion.. even 500k would be over the top.
The Nismo version starts at 220K US. This isn't just a bunch of bolt-ons, either. But obviously this is a limited production run of built cars, and they know they can sell them for that, so that's the price.
Even if they go mostly unsold, it's still something that attracts news articles and vloggers, and it will drive sales of their more reasonable GR86 and for some of the parts used on either car.
I love the 86, but being right hand drive and a new car so do Americans have to wait 25 years to import this Million Dollar Car?

If HKS brings parts with TÜV to Germany, then we talking.
TÜV is all about Germany protecting domestic manufacturers and not about safety. One of the reasons the German car industry is strong is their influence within standards organisations.

In Japan they can also just use their own japanese manufactures for exhausts catbacks. No Akrapovic etc.
That comes to us in 2020 or so that we can now only drive exhausts with EG ECE certification but old entries are protected. Glad my HKS Hi Power 409 is in my papers
