  • #WomenAtColoradoState : This tribute celebrates the accomplishments of #TempleGrandin , world-renowned animal scientist and autism advocate, following a year of remarkable attention for the CSU professor. Professor Grandin has built her stellar career over more than 20 years teaching and conducting research in CSU's Department of Animal Sciences. In 2010, HBO released a biographical feature film called "Temple Grandin" based on the CSU professor's early life; the movie won seven Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe and a Peabody Award. Also last year, Professor Grandin earned a spot on TIME magazine's list of "100 Most Influential People in the World."
    Dr. Grandin, who has autism, is an eminent animal scientist who specializes in livestock behavior and has pioneered the field of farm-animal welfare. Her innovations in humane handling equipment and auditing systems have changed the livestock industry, both improving producer profitability and assuring consumers about the integrity of the food system.

    I saw her movie in one of my class and I laughed and cried most of all because people didn't understand what she is going through and is shocked that she came up with these brilliant plans to help the animals.

    She designed " the stearway to heaven" in Swift Meatpacking, Arizona. A slaughtercenter. And you call her an animal lover? Give me a break. I find her discusting for that reason

      As long as people want to devour meat as they do animals should at least not be tortured before they die. And that is exactly what Dr. Grandin tries to prevrnt: animal torture.
      Greetings from a vegetarian!

      She recognized that cattle farming will always exist, so might as well not make the cows suffer unnecessarily.
      As opposed to the radical activist who would just drench themselves in animal blood and not actually accomplish anything that improves the welfare of livestock animals.

    She's not an animal lover! Simple a lie. 👎 Crap!

    • @Freiya2011
      @Freiya2011 Před rokem +4

      She is. She is a down-to-earth, hands-on improver in a field of industry she can not abolish, but improve - for the sake of a fear-free treatment before the animal dies for the meat-eaters.
      The alternative would have been to force the US go vegetarian or vegan. Well, try THAT in Colorado!
