      @@photoshopcafeNo, as in a mirror lens-or catadioptric lens.
      This is just one type of lens architecture, generally used for cheap, physically short, telephoto lenses. Out of focus highlights rendering as donuts is a recognisable side effect of their design.
      It has nothing to do with the mirror in the camera body of a film SLR or DSLR, which is where you seem to be getting confused.

    Very good video, thank you very much. I would like to correct one small point: the bokeh shapes are only about the lenses, not the cameras. The shape with the dark spot in the middle is not from a single reflex camera, but from a mirror lens.

  • @davidwebb2137
    @davidwebb2137 Před 9 měsíci

    I find the depth map implementation very interesting. This is the most difficult part of rendering a 3D stereo graphic image. Hopefully Adobe has thoughts of expanding functionality along these lines.

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Turn off the tool you are using eg: If you are using the blur tool. click blur to turn it off and it goes back to the hand tool.

    What I would like to know is if I can use the new blur function in Raw in a batch, ie: to have several images in Raw and apply the same blur to them all.

  • @imaginationphotographyvide4221
    @imaginationphotographyvide4221 Před 9 měsíci +3

    The major issue that I have is those small areas that need fine-tuning and adjusting - like the lasso and hat, etc. The amount of clean-up is fine for one photo, but if that is required for multiple images from a photoshoot, then an actual wide aperture lens will more than pay for itself.

    • @photoshopcafe
      @photoshopcafe  Před 9 měsíci +2

      I think you should always use the correct lens when possible. Sometimes retouchers have no choice though, as well as editing existing photos. I found it to be pretty decent on most photos. I picked the lasso and horse as a more difficult image to test the capabilities

    • @AndrzejJeczen
      @AndrzejJeczen Před 9 měsíci

      I use it for my RAW images shot on my Samsung S20 (I use PRO mode). I edit in Lightroom Mobile, and it elevates my family photos immensely despite the blur tool being limited on a mobile version. I can't praise it enough.

    Purists hate it, hobby people like it. I personally cant and don't always have the perfect lens with me and this is a very viable option. Thank you for a great lesson on how to use it.
