- Riding the San Francisco cable cars is an experience like no other and probably the craziest way to travel the city!
There is nothing quite like clinging to the side of a cable car as you speed towards Fisherman's Wharf , making several close calls with oncoming vehicles and holding your breath as you pass other cable cars. But despite the sore hands and white knuckles the ride is an experience you don't want to miss!

I *LOVE* to see people so excited to explore my old home town (Seattle now) like the cable car (never trolly, folks and never, ever, ever "Frisco" or "SF"). It went right in front of my place on California St at Leavenworth and I have to admit we left the front bedroom for visitors as the clanging bell loses its charm. I was fortunate to spend most of my life in such a magical place and live in a city so many dream of visiting. I was once complaining about traffic back into the City from work in Marin. My passenger said, "My God, just listen to yourself! We've got Alcatraz and what many consider one of the world's most charming cities to our left, the Farralon Islands and Pacific Ocean to our right and doing what millions would dream of: enjoying an amazing sunset from the middle of the Golden Gate Bridge!" Hang from the cable car and have fun!
We love San Francisco so much. We will definitely be back in the future! Always something different and new to see and do.
The best cablecar line i argue is the powell & mason line. Less crowds than powell-hyde and still ends at same destination!
You captured both journeys on the cable cars perfectly. I gave up filming as my arm ached trying to hold on for dear life 😂

I am so jealous, it has always been a dream of mine to go to San Francisco and ride the Cable Cars. You lucky things but thank you so much for sharing it with us. It looked brilliant and the zig zag road. I wouldn't want to drive down for anything. The weather looks gorgeous, even a bit too hot maybe. So glad you are having a fantastic time.😅😅

You went past the place we stayed on the cable car - it was almost before you got off it down at Fisherman’s Wharf.
