Hey dissolver! First of all: I really enjoyed your set as I like your sound and as I’m thinking of exchanging my mpc one with a force what would make my setup quite similar to yours (force, tr8s, model d, mam303, digitone). I hope you don’t mind if I ask a few questions about your workflow and force’s capabilities.
First of all: AM I right that you don’t use program changed to change kits on the tr8s? I didn’t saw you using the inst button on the tr8s but at the same time I was to lazy to skip through the video and check if you’re using the same drum kit trough out the set.
My second question is: As far as I know the force let’s you create up to 8 plug in tracks. I guess that you are using some internal plug ins. Or are those additional synth tracks keygroup or sample programs? If they are plug in tracks: Is it possible to change a plugin preset trough out a set by playing back a new clip? Or would I have to manually load a preset and then launch a clip for the new midi data. (P.S: I think I now saw that you are working left to right on the force. So I guess you are not using more then 8 plug in tracks?)
What do you think about the plugins regarding their operability? Are those 8 encoders enough? Is it quick to change their functions within a plugin?
The upper questions leads to this: Mostly I’m just jamming for me and my friends at home. I don’t really do prepared live sets but just jam around. The MPC was a big drag as it is not made fore live jamming. Creating new tracks, removing midi data from a track, switching between variations… All this so damn slow on the mpc. How do you think about this regarding the force? How do you create such a live set? My idea is to just jam around, create new tracks and clips on my way. And then later “clean” up the jam and come up with a structured live set.
I hope that is not too much. It’s Sunday and I don’t have anything to do right.
One last thing: Seeing your towel. I’m getting botox injections into my hand for 1,5 years now. Every 3 month. But my sweaty palms are completely gone! 😉
Have a nice day! And thank you in advance if you’re actually answering all my questions 😉

Hey Kevin! That’s a lot of questions 😂 I’ll try to answer everything!
      1. I indeed don’t use program changes for the TR-8S, I change kits using ‘Pattern Select’
      2. I’m using 3 plugin tracks on the Force and 1 midi track (for the AS-1). As for changing presets i still haven’t really looked into that well enough. I now use those 3 plugin tracks all with 1 preset each. The other tracks are just drum tracks, similar to the ones on the MPC, which hold just as much samples as on the MPC i believe.
      3. I’m not really operating the plugins live aside from a LPF 😅
      4. I wouldn’t say the force workflow is faster than the MPC. Making tracks on the MPC required less menu diving than on the Force in my case (Force just has the potential to have a lot more going on at the same time). But i haven’t worked according to the ‘normal’ workflow on the MPC and i’m also not doing that on the Force, so i don’t know if i can really judge it from that point. Creating a fully functional live set is a lot easier on the Force though, you can easily and smoothly switch between ‘songs’, which wouldn’t be possible on the MPC.
      5. Oh that's a big winner! Have been struggling with hyperhidrosis almost my whole life. Would really like to get it fixed permanently though. Not sure if i qualify for a procedure of that kind but i’m planning a doctors visit in the near future to find out 😉
Hope that answers most of your questions, you too enjoy your day! 😄

@@Dissolver Wow, thank you for taking the time to answer all my questions! I just got the oportunity to borrow a friends force for a week or so. But from what I saw in different videos (including yours) and your answers I 'm quite sure it will convince me.
One last question maybe? ;) Is there a way to do micro timing adjust within the step sequencer? I allways feel like opening the piano roll, use the select tool to pick the note you want to edit, make sure tc is off and then adjusting the timing takes really long while in a jam situation. Elektron got that "press and hold an step and use the arrow buttons to mirco adjust" thing. But as I didn't found any information on that, I guess this feature doesn't exist!
Well, once again, thank you for your time and have a nice day! :)

@@Dissolver hi man, i got my Force, and its a beast! I tried to sync it to my Tr8 today, but i cant seem to make it work. Can you control the tr-8 from the Force? And/or trigger the tr8 from the Force? I recorded a midi pattern into a clip on the Force, but when i play it back there is no sound nor does it trigger the tr8.
Can you tell me more about how you set up the Force with the Tr8s regarding midi? Thanks!
