  • The Sangeet Sartaj collection plays tribute to India’s most celebrated classical musicians and this one is dedicated to Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. Here, he renders Raga Malkauns -- alap gat in rupaktala and teentala - in his masterful manner. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia is one of those rare artistes who appeals to both the connoisseur of Hindustani classical music and the amateur listener. An internationally acclaimed flautist, he is responsible for popularizing Indian Classical Music all over the world. With his consummate artistry he is acknowledged as the greatest living master of the North Indian Bamboo Flute. Unlike many other great Indian artistes, Pandit Chaurasia does not come from a family of musicians. In fact, he forged his own path in the demanding world of classical music, training under Pandit Bholanath in the holy city of Varanasi.

I never heard Krishna playing the flute, but the sweetness of Hariprasad's flute gives me the feeling I am hearing the masterful sound of Krishna's flute.

I waited till midnight to listen. Raag Malkaunsa is perfect for this time of the day. Pandit Chaurasia's exposition of it brings out its stateliness and delicacy. It stirs the heart and the mind with its effortless elaboration of the theme blended with deep feelings. Superb! Thank you for uploading this gem.

Graças a Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia por chegar a um ponto não refinado de manipulação das frequências sonoras!!! Pura magia/física.
    Dominador do elemento Ar.
Descansa minha mente, abre meu coração, minha alma dança por dentro e por fora, choro, dou risada, arrepio, espasmo....

No words are sufficient to describe the beauty of the flute by Pt.Hari Prasad Chaurasia in rag Malkauns. It unfolds the intricate mystery of night and creates a divine sensation in mind. Listening to this type of higher order of music is a part of Sadhana.
