    Big fan of all your videos. The way you explain has made it so much easier to understand. Wondering if some day you can make a video on how to manage the data security/access of Tableau? :)

    Thank you for this great explanation. Do you offer training? I need help with Tableau calculations.. especially how to create calculated fields out of any requirement.

    The result of WINDOWS_SUM we can achieve by usinf LOD functions also...
    What is the difference and what are the correct scenario to use LOD and windows functions?

    • @sqlbelle
      @sqlbelle  Před 9 měsíci +1

      LODs are used when you don't need the calculation to be affected by other fields/filters in the canvas. LODs also don't get affected by scope and direction. For example computing table across/table down/pane across etc.
      For example if you need to calculate a running total - this will be harder to do in an LOD because you may choose to change the fields in your running total (for example, running total along days, or weeks, or months, or years). Or to even reset this per year. Much easier to accomplish in table calcs.
      Does this help? There are a number of other common use cases. Perhaps I can create some samples in another video.

      I really appreciate you, spending your valuable time answering my question.
      Yes, it would be helpful if you create another video for different scenarios.
      Thanks
