    Welcome to Scooter Street! In this exciting video, we're going to show you a simple derestriction hack that will unleash the true potential of your Kymco scooter. If you've been disappointed with its sluggish performance, then this is the solution you've been waiting for.
    Join us as we dive into the 2022 model 50cc fuel-injected Kymco scooter and uncover any hidden restrictions in its transmission. We'll explore the variator shaft, where we discover a stepped shaft that limits the pulleys from coming together fully. But fear not, we have the answer!
    By replacing the variator shaft with a derestricted version, we'll allow the belt to travel out further, resulting in a significant increase in speed. We'll also take a closer look at the rollers, ensuring they're the perfect weight to allow the engine to rev optimally.
    After reassembling everything, we'll take the scooter for a test ride to see the incredible improvements first hand. And the results? Well, let's just say that our customer went from a disappointing 52 kilometres per hour to an impressive 64 kilometres per hour!
    So, if you're tired of the sluggish performance of your Kymco scooter, this derestriction hack is a game-changer. Say goodbye to slow speeds and hello to thrilling rides! Don't forget to hit that subscribe button and like this video to show your support for Scooter Street.

      Ohh, that is slow. You should check the transmission including the clutch and belt. Several models had many restriction and you may also have significant wear on these parts. Look for an exhaust blockage and air leaks through the filter system.

    I had the same procedure done on my 2022 Like 50 2T. I also got around 65km/h top speed. It's worth noting that the increased range of the belt also affects the rpms, especially on steep hills. Often it will only go 25 up hills that it used to do 40. Would swapping out to more lightweight rollers make it more rev-happy?

    • @scooterstreetau
      @scooterstreetau  Před 2 měsíci +1

      The belt can increase the rpm from the start it depends and what size you replace with. Lighten the rollers only by 10-15%.

    Hello, I have a 2019 kymco super 8 street, with a injection engine. It has a max speed of 49 kmh and doesn't go any faster, I can feel the scooter slow down a bit when it hits the 49 kmh. The ECU has been reprogrammed to allow the RPM to go up to, I believe, 9000 (I'm not 100% sure, if the guy who did this for me did it correctly. But he says he did). And the variator shaft isn't stepped.
    Any idea's on how to make it faster?

    my 2016 has oil in the air box.What to do?

    • @scooterstreetau
      @scooterstreetau  Před 9 měsíci

      Check the level of oil in the engine, adjust it just below the high mark.
      Check the air filter foam or paper, clean or remove any oil, wipe out the air box completely clean of oil. Sometime oil is on the air filter so only absorb off the excess! Check and clean the oil breather hose, usually located running from the engine head to the front of the air box. 👌

    • @somesortofchill
      @somesortofchill Před 9 měsíci

      Yeah um. Next time be careful to be really precise when replacing transmission oil.
      Kymco likes to let any extra oil you put in for transmission to flow into the air box as a backup or something.

      @@scooterstreetau Forgive me for not being very technical, but yeah. Long story short-ish.
      For motor oil you can just pour and measure if you are unsure if you put enough or too little.
      For transmission, at least for the kymcos that I've ownes and used. You have to be precisely putting was it something like 0.19L or something like that. And anything you put over that is going to overflow i to the air box.
      The guys I've bought the bikes from had oil in air box when I bought them so the above is what I researched and found that out some years ago.

    @cameramankevx Před 9 měsíci +1

    so basically you dont need to change the ECU settings

    • @scooterstreetau
      @scooterstreetau  Před 9 měsíci

      The best way to look at this is, if the variator is the reason you are restricted then change the shaft or the variator. So if the CDI/ECU is the restriction then replace the CDI. The CDI is a restriction to the RPM so when you require higher RPM (more speed for more upgrades) then change the CDI. An example is when you change the exhaust or fit a higher cc cylinder kit you will require higher RPM, so we change the CDI/ECU.
