- Please enjoy our biographical song about Sayyudna Khalid ibn al Walīd, the Companion of the Prophet ﷺ who conquered the greatest Empires of his age, and was undefeated in over 100 battles. Given the title of "a sword from amongst the swords of God" by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , his tactical ingenuity became both the stuff of legend, and a blueprint for military strategy the world over. The conqueror of Persia and Rome, of Damascus and Jerusalem, the sword could never be downed in battle, but instead lamentably passed away soon after his enforced retirement.

By the blood that she stole

The swords of God Mighty
True pearls only drip forth
From lips of this Nabi (s)
To fight idolatry
Tawhid’s banner with me

We drove him from Makkah
God drove him back to us
Honoured I was to lead
Of his ten thousand plus
And what a victory
To win without a fuss

Smitten in love I am
With him of dark tresses
Ardent lovers they fight
For a lock that blesses
A curl of his with me
Powers all successes

And when he passed, we passed
Away from our senses
The first Caliph restored
Focus on defences
Into the Najd I rode
To crush their offences

A thousand-years Persians
Had ruled with spite and greed
O king, your rule was torn
The day you did not heed
The men I bring love death
As you love life indeed

Outnumbered, odds against
But with God on our side
With passion coursing Ya
Muhammada we cried
We did what none had done
Empires brushed aside
11.
And when al-Quds did call
Fiercer we grew striving
Impassable deserts
Crossed like bolts of lightning
Ever should the Muslim
Rise for her defending

On my body there is
No place without a scar
I plunged into battle
Not fearing who to spar
But martyrdom’s wish now
Fading away so far
13.
Undefeated general
What a mark I’m leaving
So let them weep Umar
In bed I lie dying
Forever sheathed to be
This world is so fleeting

Pity a time ever
If courage becomes rare
To save the weak, oppressed
From evil that would snare
I pray that God will send
