  • My definition of "quick" might not fall in line with others. But I've got you know, things to say. I call these a "quickview" because it covers unboxing and initial testing. It does not speak to durability, longevity, etc.
    Here we have the subject in question, Injora AustarHobby Bull Comp Tires. You can find them on Amazon (link below) but they're all over the usual suspect locations, usally around $30-35 for the set of four (with foams.)
    At time of purchase, $32.98USD on Amazon Prime.

    Your quick views are no problem. Your dedicated subscribers and watchers will stay for hours watching you build stuff and wheel the trucks in the Canyon. Those tyres surprised me, I didnt expect them to be that good but they didnt disappoint. Shame they are smaller as I think they would be even better if they were the same height as the showdowns but like you said you have to drive it slightly differently. I'm considering getting some for my FTX Ravine, "named Danchee Ridge Rock in the US" the stock tyres are not good but it is more toy grade then hobby grade but for $100 its good, My grandson uses it when we go out and it really performs well. It would be interesting to see how one would preform in the Canyon. The Ravine is not heavy though so like you said about weight It may not be any better in my situation. Great vid once again. really enjoyed watching, Thanks.

    Decreased ride height but also lower cog, I like these tires.

    Get another set and do a cut and shut to make them taller. It would be a good bit of work and cost a good bit of money but you could get all your height back. I've heard of the cut and shut and I've seen them work but I've never tried making them or using any. West desert wheeler uses cut and shuts and has success I was just thinking your talented and could probably whip some out no problem. Oh also I absolutely love watching your channel with the builds and the tests not to mention your absolutely amazing course. thank you for bringing us all along on your journey.

      I really need to revamp the wheels on my other two 4WS radios. This one looks, and feels better than the other two. Third time was the charm, I guess.

    Gpm racing makes a nice spur gear adapter for the Axial Yeti XL part #YTL115-GS. Also for the Smt10 Gpm adapter #MJ1555T-BK,both of them I purchased from Ebay. I prefer the one for the Yeti XL though.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před rokem +1

      As GPM is umm... not widely available right now, I'm gonna try my hand as some fabri-cobbling coming up here pretty soon. Any of the Yeti adapters are ~3 weeks out for me. I really don't think that plastic adapter (which I think is from a Redcat Everest 10) is gonna last more than a few days, much less a few weeks.

    I ran the bully 2 pins on my bully moa for awhile. I cut the nipples so they looked like the Injora tires you have there. I replaced them w/ Ibex pins and they perform much better. I know your not a Proline guy. I run them on my Sporty as well…

      There's all manner of nonsense written on the sidewalls of those tires-- not surprising they threw some Boom Racing on there too.
      I didn't make the Boom Racing connection, because my first product from them was Hustlers, and they're steaming garbage. Haven't opted to try anything else from them.

  • @thindigital
    @thindigital Před rokem

    Have you considered sipping the Showdowns? I love mine for their presence but have always thought the performance lacking on rock, wet PNW forest trails, they are outstanding.
    So I'm thinking to super them for the rocks....

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před rokem +2

      I hadn't, because the lugs are so spread out. But the beads are really chewed up, so there wouldn't be much lost by cutting them up a bit.

  • @Shakermt
    @Shakermt Před rokem +1

    If you could test anuy tire regardless of who's and cost what would they be?

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před rokem +1

      In 1.9, I would say PitBull Rock Beast XLs in Alien-- WAY above what I'd pay for a set of tires.
      In 2.2, it would have to be Ottsix Stickies-- same story. For a full set with foams, like $130. Insane.
      I've been looking at both the new Vanquish VXT2 and Falken Wildpeaks to do a test on, but those are below my price ceiling so you might see a test of one or both of those... at some point.

      They have to be driven REALLY differently. I didn't have enough wheeltime to know for sure their limits-- but they're promising enough to pursue for sure. Especially with how cheap they are.

  • @FaithSaraG
    @FaithSaraG Před rokem

    It looks worse and performs worse.
    Maybe they wouldn't look as silly on Zoidberg.
    "Enjoy being a badass" is a Boom Racing tagline.

    • @CrawlerCanyon
      @CrawlerCanyon  Před rokem

      I gotta get through the learning curve on them to make a definitive judgement. They look a little silly at that mondo wheelbase, but they drive really well for an Amazon tire.
      They might not be the forever tire, but they're gonna spend a little while as the "for now" tire.
