Look at Braves OPS in the first inning with Ronald on 1st base compared to their OPS when he’s not. Compare when he’s on first base to league average in the same scenario. It’s insane. His threat of stealing second forces pitches to throw heaters that get blasted to the moon. He enables his entire team to function the way they do. The definition of an MVP. These intangibles don’t get measured by WAR. I hope they get it right.

And Ronald Acuna Jr has Been The Catalyst The Entire Season And Not Just The Month Of August and Is Clearly The Deserving 2023 MVP If He Continues This Hot Streak He’s Had All Year
Hands down Acuna has to be mvp Josh, absolutely agree. I’m a Dodger fan, and there shouldn’t even be a question who wins. I think Mookie & Freeman would be a toss up for the award if Acuna wasn’t far more valuable than either one of the aforementioned.
"Acuna Matata" is my nickname for this beast of a player. He brings the fun, swagger and the skills to make this team from top to bottom, the one to beat in the post-season. Gonna be fun to watch. If the first two games of the dodger series are a portent of things to come, watch out MLB...the CHOP is in the house!

I have been a Braves fan for 40+ yrs. This is the best team I have seen. Period. The MVP should be Acuna all the way. No disrespect for Mookie or Freddie. They have had a huge August. However.... Acuna has been good ALL year long. His average, his base stealing, showing up every night, his energy. You can't take away his MVP just because one guy got hot for 1 month. Ronald has been the best ALL year!
You say that yet Betts has better OVERALL home runs, rbis, ops, drs, and can play multiple positions.
Did I miss something? Does Acuna play 2 other positions too??? Not only Plays them but is Exceptional
@matthewsimonds3346 Acuna is on pace to score 150 runs, which hasn't been done in over 20 years. Acuna's presence on the bases helps his teammates see more fastballs. It's pretty risky sometimes to lob up a breaking pitch knowing that Acuna is a threat to steal second and third at any moment. Mookie is great but Acuna is most of the reason why Atlanta scores early every game.

If anything it just shows how incredible Betts august was. The dodgers only lost 4 games all month and he’s easily their biggest reason. The only thing Acuna has over Betts is stolen bases which yes is incredible but Betts is more complete

I love Shotani but I’m taking Acuna simply because every since Acuna showed up the Braves have been in the playoffs and won the World Series! Ohtani hasn’t been higher than 4th in the division Acuna is the LAW
First off I do feel Acuna is more deserving of the MVP than Mookie and I know I'm going to get flak for this comment but why haven't I seen a single mention about the fact this is the first season with the enlarged bases. If the large bases were around I'm almost positive a young A Rod, Trout or Bonds would have accomplished this feat.
Every player in the MLB plays under the same rules as Acuna - if it was that easy, he wouldn't be the only person doing it.

New rules had a lot to do with the steals. Don't get me wrong he a talented kid, but pitchers are only able to throw to first so many times... Yeah.

Acuna would have eventually had this season anyways. The new rules helps, but remember he was nearly 40/40 back in 2019. If the injury never happened in 2021, he was certainly on pace for it.

I'm getting a little tired of the Ohtani ass licking. Yes the dude hits and pitches but nowhere near enough to be counted as a top starter and unless i'm forgetting something most of his time is spent sitting on the bench waiting for his next at bat. People seem to be forgetting he is a DH and I don't have to tell you how little the hall of fame values DH's. Absolute monster at the plate but to act like he's the best player and more important than Acuna is ridiculous. I'll even go along with the party line that he's the best hitter right now that's cool I can swallow that but to say he's the best baseball player or athlete is ridiculous. The pitching at this point (before the injury) was quickly approaching the "gimmick" category. Ronald hits the ball harder than anyone else (Ohtanis is somewhat close in rank but not in totals) hits it further than anyone else, leads the world in stolen bases, his base running smarts is off the charts oh and he a has a cannon. He is the most talented player in the baseball.
It's a nice achievement but stealing bases has never been easier, especially with the implementation of the new rules. Plus, the catchers today are garbage.

their runners a "green
light" to steal just about
anytime they like.
The Braves are having an
exceptional offensive year
and Acuna is able to run
at will and with these new
rules, he's not hesitating.
They're ridiculous.
1. It's no longer 90 feet
between bases.
2. You can only throw to
First twice against
a runner. If you don't
get him on a third try,
it's a balk.
How is a pitcher able
to keep a runner close
with these rules ?

catchers throwing out
