I wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for this video. My church has wanted to stream services for a while now. With the current circumstances what they are, it pushed this project to the forefront. I'm a geek of sorts and have dabbled in A/V but have stayed in the shallow end of the A/V pool. This video gave me the confidence to wade into the deeper end. I'm not sure I would have been able to convince myself to make the jump on the PTZOptics camera on my own. While we gathered equipment, I started streaming services with a iPad and migrated to my phone as it was better quality. We've since got the PTZOptics w/ NDI HX in place running vMix and now have the audio tied into the overall audio system. The transition was a night and day moment in the quality of the offering for my church. I continue to learn more about vMix with plans to evolve the stream content as we go. We continue to grow in the number of parishioners that are now joining live on a daily basis. The ability to connect in this way when they can't in person means so much to them. I can't thank you enough for this gift. God Bless.

Thanks for this - we are Ecamm users now and it is working like a charm. An important note about the PTZOptics cam though, especially if you're going to mount it in your church: the remote that comes with the camera is essentially USELESS. It is, believe it or not, infrared, like the old TV remotes, not RF. That means in order to get it to work, you have to stand in front of the camera and point it at the sensor. I guess the manufacturers didn't consider the fact that if you're standing in front of the camera, you're ON camera. Unless you're okay with sitting next to the minister onstage and on camera while they're speaking so you can zoom, tilt, and pan, you'll have to create an ethernet network and connect to the camera from your computer that way (PC folk have an rs232 option as well-we're mac folks.) We made the mistake of hiring a contractor to mount the camera on the ceiling of our church and run hdmi cable from the camera to our booth-and now, though our camera is only 35 feet away, we can't control it. We have to call our contractor back now and have him drag ethernet cable through the ceiling instead (read time delay and added expense.) I didn't see the necessity of creating a network for just one computer and one camera-don't make the same mistake!

For our audio we added a choir mic on stage that does not go into the main (amplified) mix. It only goes to an aux out mix with the other audio sources for video. Otherwise there is complete silence when no mics are amplified or nobody is near a mic. Modest background noise is good.

About a year before covid limitations my church had the impression "Do Livestream".
We had about 20 viewers - but when the lockdown came, it raises because few churches were ready. As a German church we got viewers from all German speaking Europe. When churches were able to offer streams or doing the service with Zoom, our live audience decreased, but we also stream a worship time, what has before this was visited by possibly 10 people.

I use the EVGA XR1 lite instead of the AJA U-Tamp. It is 1/4 the price and has worked very well for me so far. We are getting to the point where a lot of the no-name cheaper ones on Amazon are decent as well, but they are hard to recommend since they change so much. I gave a $20 no-name unit to a nephew for Switch streaming, and it just worked. The main thing to look for in those is UVC support.

The fact that the PTZ camera comes with USB output it's great, so the HDMI, POE and SDI video output. The problem is most of the churches will use more than one of these and they will be pretty far from the computer so you won't be able to use the USB or HDMI video output since these will only work with short distance cables. So HDMI and USB video output will be useless, the only remaining option for long distance video connection is the 3g-SDi and POE and you will need a 3g-SDi to USB adaptor or I guess POE to USB
