I like the idea of a series based on finish, I think that makes the most sense. Either that or brand, not color though because you aren't trying every single color of course.

I have the Prada Hyper Matte lipstick in Ultra Violet and I fell in love with it. I wear it every day. I also fell in love with the Dior Forever Transfer Proof Lipstick in Forever Night. These lipsticks do have dry down, so I wear a cream lipstick underneath as a base. What I love is that these lipsticks don't feather into my lip lines and both brands have the super dark and pigmented colors, which I adore.
I really like the hyper matte from Prada. I wish I enjoyed the Dior formula more. It's too much for my drier lips. 🫤
Can't wait for the lipstick series. So hard to pick a favorite lipstick. My most jused are Lisa Eldridge Luxuriously lucent in kitten mischief. And my Dries Van Noten lipstick in the sheer formula in shade 03. But that last one I always put the Hindash "rest in roses" on top. Those 2 are better together in terms of color. And these are by far my most special packaging. The Dries Van Noten is in a refillable packaging that is stunning ( but for the case and lipstick together the price is heafty) But I love the object so much. The packaging of the Hindash lipstick is totally different but stunning as well in my opinion it is really different then any other lipstick. I love it because it is different and I think it would be not that expensive to make, but it s clever an feels expensive because of the work they did with the aluminium of the case. Maby I wear them more because of the packaging. ( formula on bought is 👌) ( I am excited for new sheer and glossie Estee lauder lipsticks that will launch soon) ( the only lippies I've jused up were Estee Lauder lipstick color envy lipstick don't know the shade anymore and Clinique nude pop) This comment is so long😅. I love that you are so excited about lipstick and you love the reds so much. ( I am not a red girl at all, I love my nudes and pinks)
I'm so excited to gather my thoughts on these formulas and report back. I have to say that I had a Dries Van Noten lipstick in and out of my cart at Bloomingdales the other day when I was getting the Byredo, Sisley and the Hermes lippies. I think the reason I didn't go through with the purchase was because there was a limited number of lipstick shades, and none of them really excited me. I think if I was purchasing from a different retailer I that had more stock, I'd have ended up with one of those too. (Eeek) I think my spending is done for the moment, and I'll have to see how the last few are as they trickle in. The weather has been stopping so many deliveries. There are some that I ordered nearly a month ago that still haven't arrived. They're stuck in transit. Thankfully it's starting to thaw, and I have many packages slated for delivery today!
I haven't tried Hindash products yet, but so many people have recommended his Rest in Roses lipstick to me. It's one I'll have to put on my list when I'm finally allowing myself to purchase lipstick again. :)
I've been eyeing the Estee Lauder lipsticks too, but I'm not sure if the colors will catch me. I usually like the formula, but I'm always looking for colors I don't already have, or formulas I haven't tried. I find that many of the Clinique and Estee Lauder lipsticks turn out very pink on me. That's usually what keeps me from purchasing them. I just picked up the relaunch of Clinique's pop lipsticks in bare pop. it's a sheer, pink lipstick that is comfortable on the lips. I LOVE the new packaging, but I'll miss the old square packaging with the lipstick color on the bottom and silver caps.
Love this series! I most interested in satin finishes, but generally I hope you’ll group by finish and color so we can see how the brands compare to each other. Also love the idea of a drugstore counterpart for each luxury category! Though I realize that might be a lot for you to cover!
I don't know the drugstore as well as the more expensive brands. But I did pick up a Revlon super lustrous lipstick today. I haven't had one in forever and wanted to remind myself of the formula of I needed it for comparison.
Will you be bringing Lisa Eldridge into the comparisons when you do them? Only because I know that is sort of your gold standard and it would be interesting to see how these better known luxury (and often more expensive) brands compare.
Absolutely. I'm going to be comparing all the lipsticks in my collection over a certain price point. I was thinking anything over $30 or $32? I haven't decided yet.
That Prada red is DIVINE on you! Even though it's a matte, there is a certain luminosity to it that just lights it up. So beautiful!
I like how it feels. I ended up wearing it for several hours yesterday and it didn't dry my lips out at all. It did need to be touched up after a meal, but that ok. Most bullet lipsticks need that. This one was very comfortable, and such a stunning color. I do feel like it needs a lip liner to look tidy in such a saturated red shade. Next time I apply it, I'll use a liner!

Please review by finish. I am a satin gal. I love my Guerlain! However, my favorite lipstick remains Revlon because of the memories I have associated with certain shades. I am sentimental about Vixen, Rum Raisin, Cherries in the Snow, and Fire and Ice.

I just picked up a Revlon lipstick today because it's been forever since I had one, and I wanted to know what the formula felt like compared to these luxurious beauties. It's a creme finish in a nude shade. I don't recall which one at the moment, but my local ulta only had a handfull of shades. It made me sad.

I would love it sorted by brand. I really enjoyed your Lisa Eldridge series. If you don’t have enough of any one brand, maybe do Italian with Valentino, Gucci, and Prada. Then maybe French, Guerlain, Givenchy, and Hermès. Chanel should be a stand-alone. Maybe do a K and J series, too. I suppose Wayne Goss and newer Lisa Eldridge can come together for Team UK.

Oh, yes! I'm all about comfort. I think that January in the PNW is a perfect time to test matte lipsticks. It's still cold outside, and my lips are prone to dryness especially in winter. Our 20 degree weather will put these mattes through their paces.
I'm going to be focusing on comfort, wear time, if the lipstick tends to creep outside the lip lines, if the formula makes my lips look better or worse, and price. If there's another formula that feel similar, I'm likely going to mention that as well. Thanks so much for watching today.

Nude Venus Pat McGrath I always do bold eye looks so … I’m trying to branch out into colors more 🤣 I love that CT Pillow Talk medium and intense and Natasha D Sami & Noa Meet Me In Berlin!!!! Yes, there are so many beautiful colors and finishes. I'm constantly reaching for the Dior Addict I just picked up in Cannage. It's so good! My cheek color usually dictates the lip color, but the eye look does come into play too.

I love luxury packaging. I love that you tell us what smells you can recognize because I love scents in my makeup. I wonder though why you don’t mention how long they last because to me that’s more important than price or scent.

I prefer creme or soft matte formulas. My favorite lipsticks right now are MAC Creme in Your Coffee, YSL Rouge Pur Couture in N1 Beige Trench, Fenty Icon lipstick in Scholar Sista & Merit Signature lipstick in Cabo.
I love the merit, & YSL formulas. I haven't purchased a MAC lipstick in years, and I haven't ever tried the Fenty formula. Finding my favorite luxury formulas is turning out to be expensive. 💸💸💸

Oh, Tiepolo is quickly becoming a favorite. I'm wearing it today without any other makeup on. I had an acupuncture appointment this morning, and didn't have time for a full face. I have so many Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks right now, I'm not sure my collection can afford another one at the moment. I did love that she's doing a dedicated line of reds. (It may be “wrong” but I’ve always applied my Prada with the other larger side, not the tiny triangle side and it works really great that way)

Thanks so much for watching today. Yes, I'm starting to fall in love with TF and the Guerlain lipsticks I purchased. I know this means I'll be on the look out for more expensive lipsticks and different luxury formulas I have yet to try. (Dries Van Noten, La Bouche Rouge, Louboutin, ect.) Are you still loving the bright shade of Candy Glaze you picked up? I'm still on the fence about picking up a punchy shade. I don't want it to settle into my lip lines and feather out of my vermillion border.

As far as the YSL candy glaze, they are gorgeous. The first shade I got was the burgundy, and I have several others now including two of the rats.they do not drift outside the lip lines, and I think they make the lips look so plump and juicy.

Great lipstick series! Would love to see it all grouped by color. I love cool nudes the most, followed by reds. I really just love a basic lip oil during these cold New England winters, but for luxury lipsticks, at the moment I’m into Dries Van Noten, Dior, and Valentino.
I've been so close to purchasing a Dries Van Noten lipstick. I just couldn't settle on a shade. At those prices, I was being extra choosy. I really like the Valentino Satin formula. It's so delicious, and I'm obsessed with R22 the Valentino Rosso shade. It's so dreamy. Thanks for letting me know how you'd like to see the lipstick series grouped. I appreciate it.
No more lipsticks? Hahahaha!!! I don't believe it! But you're my go-to for lipstick reviews. I prefer a stick or balm, not a gloss but don't have a favorite at the moment. I think I would prefer a review based on shade and showing some different finishes. $49 ? That's pushing the limit for me since I've had it up to here with price increases already. I may decide to look more at Korean beauty this year or just explore L'Oreal or Revlon more.
I'm going to try and remind myself that I've purchased more lipsticks in the past months than any sane person normally would, so I'm good. I hope that Lisa Eldridge doesn't release a ton of shades this spring. I wouldn't be able to pass that up.

What is your go-to lip exfoliator?
This is going to sound strange, but I don't use a traditional lip exfoliator. I lay on a thick layer of balm or sleeping mask before bed, and when I'm in the shower the next morning, I wash it off and press my finger over my lips with a little force to rub off any dry or hanging skin. Sometimes I do it when I'm brushing my teeth with my tooth brush.
If you're looking for a recommendation for a sugar scrub, I've tried many from Sara Happ, Frank Body, fresh Sugar, and many drugstore brands. There aren't any that I love enough to keep using them. I like the reformulated one from elf, but I hardly ever reach for it. I normally let my kids finish up any lip scrubs I have, but I keep going back to my exfoliation in the shower or with a toothbrush. It ends up giving me the same results, and it doesn't require an extra step that I don't already do.
My one recommendation is to put a layer of hydration on your lips straight out of the shower like you would with skin care or body lotion. If I let my lips go too longer after the shower or brushing them, they dry out.

I'm so glad that you found a mascara that works so well for you. I just picked up the Heimish mascara in the volumizing formula. I haven't cracked into it yet, but I'm curious to see if it's just as good as the curling one.

I love Dior lipsticks. I don’t buy Tom Ford any more: they don’t last and turn smelly quite quickly. I’m a sucker for luxury makeup but still need to try Prada. Definitely my next purchase. How does the soft matte formula compare with the Givenchy soft velvet one?
I haven't had a TF lipstick in over a decade, so I forgot that they go off quickly. I'm sad about that because I now have 2 of them. I prefer the Prada over the Givenchy. It's a bit more hydrating.

I am going this Friday to Sephora to try out the new lipsticks from ABH and Mario. Have you tried them?
No, I've not been a fan of the ABH lipsticks over the years, so I don't even check them out anymore. 🤷♀️
I am interested in the MbM lipsticks, but there aren't many shades I could safely purchase online without seeing them in store and swatching them. My Sephora is over an hour away, and I don't frequently get out they're. If you get one, let me know what you think of the formula.
The YSL Balms are 30% off I really wanted the red one lol but idk about a juicy red (154 & 80) might run omg they taste so good tho I have 121 and 122 and 150… I like those much better than the candy glaze I got 15 and it’s very light pink not crazy crazy about it and the clear sample size free gift lol hope that it looks good with my new

I really like the Prada shades, especially the Tiepolo. It's so easy to wear. (I'm wearing it right now, and I'm loving it) The red is nice too, but the pinky nude is so easy to wear.
Are the YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks on sale right now? I have 5 of those, and I love them. I have the shade 45, tuxedo rouge, and it's a beautiful formula. I like how hydrating it is, but now that I'm older, it does slide out of my lip line more frequently than before. A lip liner helps, but I love the sheer and glossy texture. I like the Candy Glaze formula too, but I'm afraid to get a bold shade. The red keeps calling to me, but I feel like I'm asking for trouble.
I laughed with your comment about La Bouche Rouge! I own several and have gotten every single one with a free case promotion. It’s the only way! My favorites are Chestnut and Nude Red. Lisa Eldridge is an eternal favorite. Gucci lipstick is the one that doesn’t feel worthwhile to me.
I'm not sure if I've been eyeing La Bouche Rouge, or if it's been eyeing me! : ) I can't seem to get it out of my head. So I might end up with one eventually. Not for this series I'm planning, but later. Do you like the formula? I LOVE Lisas's lipsticks and nuanced shades. It’s also very comfortable and has no fragrance, which I love. The two reds I have (Nude Red and Red Andreea) are among my easiest to wear. One thing I don’t like is that the marketing pictures are useless to find a color.
After chatting with you about this brand, I ended up buying 2 lipsticks and 2 holders last night. I found one of the leather holders for $29.99, and a vegan holder for $12. Then I found the lipstick refills for $31 on The Detox Market. They're currently $24 on Credo, but Detox Market had more colors to choose from. I picked up a matte and a satin. I've been very bad! : )
