  • World championship Wrestling in Melbourne Australia back in the Golden era. Most of it was screened on channel GTV-9 known as nine9 now usually on Saturday afternoons, main Venue was Festival Hall in Melbourne.

    My good friend Con Tolios, also greek, used to wrestle in these days too. He won the Light-Heavy weight title in 1969. We were watching WCW tapes last night as a matter of fact!
    Con also recorded a Christmas message for all his fans. I hope you don't mind, but I posted it on here for you and all the other WCW fans to watch :)

    Hi, just want to know if you can get footage of ALEX IAKOVIDIS, Who was the heavyweight champion in australia in the 1950's till 1970's... you see, my dad ALEX IAKOVIDIS was the one who trained a lot of the greek wrestlers and i'm wondering
    if anyone has or can get film,dvd or even pics... thanks. peter.

    Hey, my friend was also a famous wrestler, Con Tolios. I have a page for him on Facebook which I try to keep updated and will hopefully see him again soon to record another video.

    Trikilis? Must be from Kalymnos. My mother's maiden name is Trikiis. Cheers.
