Now keep in mind, Wario's AI was set to "Hard" which originally at the start of the LP, Emile was worried was gonna be too difficult for the 3 of them...and then Emile goes and destroys 4 out of the 5 boards where most of the AI was set to hard In short, now we need to test "Brutal" to see if there is a significant difference.
As much as people were expecting one Massive thing to just make Jon rise up even higher, I like how it's more a result of a slow-crumbling that is Jon's general existance: The three stars in the Star Block during Wiggler's Garden starts the breaking, then Jon's lead and Emile's luck in Toadette's Music Room breaks it even more, the 22 Stars in DK's Stone Statue makes a massive tear in the foundation, then Kamek's Library somehow managed to one up it by a Wide Margin. All this culminating in Bowser's Pinball Machine, where seemingly everything that goes wrong for Jon DOES go wrong, whether it's massive like his triple dice leading to a negative star total and the Star Block Block from Tim, to Wario just Snag Bagging him when he feels like it and the shop not giving him a Star Pipe when he's second. It's small cracks, even the most smallest tiniest choices that just wear down Jon... all until it comes crumbling down and he pays with his voice. It's storytelling in it's best form. Instead of a plot twist that just tramples on an already deep enough grave, it's very much a tragedy that is only fine because it's contexted around a party game for the Nintendo DS. Best of all, it's one that kinda fits the whole TRG Mario Party Saga... sorta like a movie or film! Jon starts of with a slight chink in his armour (1) before rising up to take it back immediately (2) and then deeply regretting the consequences but takes a shift that is well worth the initial pain (3). Then with the mastery of the games, begins to hone his skill in a slightly different era (4) before completely Dominating all who stand in his way (5, 6). However, a change from a rival causes the tempo of everything to shift (7). Although it's a scar that he's felt a long time ago, he perserveres and takes a quick stab back at him to reclaim it once more (8)... before it all hits an all-time low (DS). Now, either Jon stays in this dark palace for the upcoming events (9 & 10... I believe those are the ones), or rises up in a climax that could rival even his previous performances; perhaps even surpass them! Either way, I'm more than happy to follow this to the end. (Edit: Someone made me realize I forgot 4. Now it's added!)

@The Dead Gamer The AI decides who to target based on player order, specifically 4-3-2-1. Since Jon was player 3, the AI targeted him since it was player 4, even though he was the worst choice every time. It's dumb.
So it turns out the reason Wario used the Snag Bag on Jon is cause the A.I for it is very simple. The A.I goes in player order. If player 4 has any items, they'll ALWAYS steal from them. If player 4 does not have items, they will do the same check with player 3 and so on. Placement and the items they have do not matter. Wario is already Player 4 so he skips to Player 3. Jon is Player 3 (Green), and since he had items, the check passes and Wario steals from Jon. This gives Emile a slight unfair advantage, as the A.I will only steal from him if Tim and Jon have no items.
Well yeah that makes sense. You know what so strange. It’s not only Wario that Just steals Jon’s items, it was other A.I’s that steals Jon’s items too during they’re play through’s. Like Peach, Daisy and specially Wario. keep on aiming to screw Waluigi. I got the feeling that maybe the CPU’s really hated Waluigi or something? That could explains Jon’s worse luck in Mario party DS. Which is he knew he shouldn’t saw that coming.
The salt in the wou- oh who am I kidding, the salt mountain, is the second time Wario takes Jon's double dice block, he throws away the first one on the same turn
To be fair, I've never seen anybody in a let's play unintentionally get zero flamed. Why? Because you would have to land on one of the corresponding happening spaces, get blasted into the Bowser zone and not the star zone, have no useful items on you to get out (die and warps are really easy to get in MPDS), roll under a 6, and actually get hit by the flame in order to lose all your stuff. Meaning you'd basically need a 5x shit luck combo (1-Up!) in order to get hit by the zero flame.

So here’s the thing about snag bags: If the game is played with 2 or 3 human players, Player 1 will always get an unfair advantage when it comes to the CPU using snag bags because it’ll *always* steal from the other players if they have items.

After what happen in today's video, pouring salt into the wound, it's more like bathing in lemon juice when you have gotten a lot of cuts on your body and that would be extremely painful.
I'm sitting here trying to figure out the AI's reasoning. They usually have a system that dictates what they do. It couldn't be for the better items. Every item Tim had was better than anything Jon had. And Emile had a pipe. It couldn't be due to placings. Tim was in first and Jon was in second. Emile was in last, but again, Star Pipe. It couldn't be strategical. Any strategy the AI could use the Double Dice for could be made better with the Triple. It really does just seem like the game actively targeted Jon there. No amount of logic would dictate this outcome.
This amount of bad luck is horrific. I’ve only seen this kind of luck once in my life, and the consequences were insane. Trust me, this should not go untreated. “This is my villain arc.” Jon… you have no idea what you just said…
