He should have gone around, from personal expirence. 3 bounces, is too many. Then again, the newer models are probably more straight flying than the old M4s
Story time, I was learning untoward airport calls and I made a mistake and said "left final for runway 3" and another pilot made fun of me for saying left final, she then proceeded to do a 3 for 1 landing and a couple of jet pilots holding short then proceeded to make fun of her for the next 10 minutes for it. We all have our learning moments, but we all love flying.
I always say to my passengers "Those bouncers are just the way I practice saving bad landings" With about 60 landings and 50 hours in a Super Cub, I'm doing a lot of saving bad landings practice 😊
I flew the Maule at my mountain rating in france!!! What a horrible airplane !!!! People who like it have never flown anything else !!! This plane makes no fun at all!!!

Good days. But I flew a Swift with a 200 hp lyc. When light take off was 125 feet , landings a little longer

Id rather be a touch fast and bounce it, than be a touch slow when the area is covered by trees and hills.
Idk why but the camera settings made it look like either an rc plane or a videogame
A little forward stick to plant those mains instead of back pressure might have helped the bounce…

@@Bananasssssssss me neither, I got my TW endorsement in a Champ and now own a tailwheel Zodiac. I almost always use wheel landings instead of 3-point
Maybe, though with one you're coming in with some power on, and the other, not. If it feels like a mess, go around.

Champs, cubs.....all of the airplanes with this type of landing gear are a little touchy, easy ro bounce
