I love how perfectly this captures the movement of California Poppies with that skirt... I would have loved to see the skirt in orange (as with real California Poppies), but the simple black lines were very elegant and beautiful. Her feet are gorgeous, too.
That was a nice dance full of emotion from the dancer amanda, and the dress well its sweet looking like a little black dress on a lady, kind of risque, slightly alluring, gets your attention with the way it shows the light, and of course everyone seems to love black pointes everytime they see them. It is a very light and fairyesque number like many danced by Anna Pavlova. There will only be one Pavlova though no matter how much people wish for another
This is a fantastic adaptation of Pavlova's choreography and I say adaptation because Anna Pavlova didn't have the beautiful lines that Amanda McKerrow has. Pavlova was very expressive and with great musicality but technically nowhere close to modern ballerinas something that is was expected if we think that she was dancing wearing a corset like leotard!
