I think it’s a bit silly to get heated that a bonus free dlc unit they announced like, 3 days in advance, is just taken from T. You’ve got new voice lines, you’ve got an additional classic OG character to the cast, the Gespenst looked really good in T anyway so it’s fine. It’s not like ya gotta pay for him.
Although it is jut T version but damn Gill took the Ges to a different level. BGM and VA really makes a simple robot to an outstanding robot. Always let the right owner to pilot.
This series got way too anime with the attack animations. I wish there was like a toggle you can do to pick between these dynamic attacks and regular run of the mill "I shoot my rifle at my enemy" attacks. Not every mook is an end boss.
Honestly main protagonist should’ve been piloting Gespenst II and crazy over powered 950M and Cold knife as an attack to paid tribute old individual weapon upgrade era of SRW. Can’t beat the 110,000 full upgrade with option to put crazy mod ammo for extra stats and status effect.
@@AAhmou That was more Kai's thing, same with Jet Magnum. Wasn't he the one to come up with both as a motion pattern for Gespenst Mk-II in OG? Anyway this is either the SRWF/FF Gespenst being used by Gilliam, instead of one of the 4/F original protags - he used the Mk-II in SRW4 and I *think* in F as well... or this is the Gespenst Type-R from OG1, and Gilliam here represents the version of him from early on in that game. He introduces himself as being from the AEUG (which lines up with 4 and F, where he is part of the organization along with Quattro), but also mentions investigating an event in Antarctica, which would line up with both 4/F and investigating the OG1 Antarctic Incident/Granzon activating its Black Hole Enigne at the request of the EOTI. If the Ryusei route is canon and the Kyosuke one is only considered canon up until about the halfway point, it may explain why a.) he's missing for a large portion of the game and b.) why he can't actually use the normal Gespenst when he returns in Ryusei's route - it might have been damaged during this game.
@@miragebangbravern2024 In Super Robot Wars 30 they could have chosen to have multiple versions of the Gespenst but unfortunately they did not. Vice versa they did not even bother giving this Gespenst a Certain Kill! Gespenst Punch or a Ultimate! Gespenst Kick even though both attacks don't require special equipment like the plasma stakes on the arm. (but requires animation budget or just lifting the animation from older games)

Also, only the Gespenst Type S and machines based off of it have the kick, in lore, it was only something Lenonjayce in F, the blue haired girl whose name I forgot and Kai in OG who came up with those attacks. Gilliam doesn't know how nor does his machine can likely do it.

It feels more of a animation cost budget reason more than a lore reason. Everyone in srw-og are hotblooded enough to do these attacks. And even have customized sayings when doing it. Kyousuke Nambu is a fun one!
You need to play any stage where Red 5 is forced to be deployed. Doing so will put it back into your roster along with all the power parts you've left on it.
In the OG-verse, the prototype/pre-production Gespensts use the plasma cutters while the mass-production versions use the plasma stakes. However, in Alpha Gaiden, the Gespenst has dual function plasma cutters/stakes.

the problem with rip slasher (which I personally like) is that the katakana features a long vowel, which wouldn't be there for rip

the Type R, thats a unit to recognize. i think reusing animations is kinda ok, since they did it in past games, but i wont give an opinion about it.
I do wish they'd added a bit more interaction with the other OG characters in. Otherwise, one of my fav units.
The only problem with these animations is that they may be too flashi for Gillian.
