    the idea that he tricked the world into believing he is blind is what's truly fascinating !

      You're not just completely blind or have completely normal vision. There are all levels of blindness. He still sees partially, but has to use some strategies to compensate with his fingers, lighting, etc for his partial vision loss.
      I'm watching videos as a Visual rehab therapist for a client that has loss a lot of vision and used to paint a lot. She can't do the same style anymore (very small details) as she can only see bigger shapes and everything looks deformed. But we're looking into reinventing her style so she can continue painting.
