Elliott is such a loyal supporter of Carlton. He said he watches it on TV and wouldn't have gone to a game (back then) until they won again. What a great supporter.
He is correct , Ian Collins and the AFL stuffed up by closing Princess Park. Now they are trying to build a $35,000 seat boutique ground for Victoriain clubs to play the small interstate sides. Most teams are not keen to play home games I Geelong despite how go the stadium is. Big Jack is wrong on some tho he, but 100% correct here
Elliott was a legend in his own mind. When he took over at Carlton, they had just won 3 flags in 4 years & were the best club financially. When he left they were on the bottom & broke. In his time, the club won only 2 flags in 20 years despite having the best resources & the most money.
@@frankmat And also, John Elliott's plan of expanding Princes Park (Ikon Park for sponsorship reasons) by building a new grandstand where the other three of the Big Four suburban Melbourne clubs in Essendon, Richmond, and Collingwood made more money by playing in larger venues like the MCG, Waverley Park, and the Docklands blew up in his face.
@@frankmatI'm thankful at least that Carlton doesn't have an asterisk premiership like Essendon in 1993 though. Cheating the cap in a flag year should strip that club of the flag.

A remarkable football character, but given his management of both his business and personal finance Australia dodged a bullet that would have been dispensed by The Liberals if he had become Prime Minister. Spent a fortune developing Princes Park with no guarantee Princes Park would have any sorta' future in the AFL .This has never been explained !

Problem is, the Vic Government were never willing to play ball on the transport infrastructure needed.
John Elliott was killed off by the corporate product that now runs the game.
Sad the way he ended up. RIP Uncle Jack.

Yup and a cheat as well. Carlton never recovered from his salary cap cheating.

The symbol of a successful Carlton 🔵🔵🔵
carlton are a dinosaur of a club, only won premierships when their was no salary cap. 25 years without a flag.
Eliot reckons Johnny Worsfold would be his best choice for a coach??? 😂😂😂😂 Good one Johnny, always such a wonderful judge of character.
Elliot had no idea
Wow he was duped, how could that be after he dealt with others in such a highly moral way
What a grub
16:10 how do you know you would’ve won that case
He should be Australia's Governor General
you are kidding
Elliot should look back on this. lol Mostly wrong
John thought Carlton was bigger than the game. Its completely destroyed Carlton for the next 2 decades
Carlton still have the most premierships along with Essendon though. I reckon we'll win number 17 before the Bombers do as well.
