    Waikiki Trolley Pink Line 4/26/2019. Today we are riding the Pink Line Waikiki Trolley. It is a double decker trolley and for $2 it takes you around Waikiki and to Ala Moana Center and then back. A full ride around takes about 1 hour 10 minutes. Once you get off you need to pay $2 again. We begin our ride at the Duke Kahanamoku Statue stop and do a round trip. To learn more about the Waikiki Trolley and other route they have go to waikikitrolley.com.

      Hi Luke. How are you? Where did all the food trucks go at about 6:46 in your video? We stay at the ohana east and use to love the food trucks across the street.

    • @PhotoLukeHawaii
      @PhotoLukeHawaii  Před 4 lety

      PERFORMANCEGROUP1 so sorry I missed this comment! Yeah most of the food trucks had to move out due to development probably another hotel or business building on the land. Maybe it was always known that it was going to happened but they allowed the food trucks to set up temporaryly. There's hardly any food trucks in Waikiki now. Hope you are doing well! Aloha =)

    That was fun to watch. Attractive bus...You did right by muting the child scream. It would've gave a little distraction to your video... That little speck on the bus, on the right hand side, scared the heck out of me when I first glanced at it. Lol! I thought it was a flying cockroach...I wouldn't mind trying this bus ride. It's another good way to get a nice view of Waikiki. Thank you for giving us the time to film this for us. I enjoyed it.

      Yolanda Reyes OMG that kid was so loud! I couldnʻt believe the parents didn't scold him =(. Yes I agree this trolley was a good way to get around and for decent price. Just remember the Pink Line for $2. There's also the Yellow Line for $2 but, not as frequent and takes you out of Waikiki. The other ones like the Blue, Green and others are more expensive and take you other places outside of Waikiki. If you need more specific info you can look online waikikitrolley.com Thanks for watching! Aloha =)

    • @PhotoLukeHawaii
      @PhotoLukeHawaii  Před 5 lety

      Richard Sundown I thought it was private too. Cheryl ask one of the Aloha Ambassadors and found out we could ride it. As long as it says Waikiki Trolley and then look for the front if it says Pink Line or Yellow Line for the $2 one. The Purple, Red, Green, and Blue Lines cost a lot more and take you to areas way outside of Waikiki. Thanks for watching Richard! Aloha =)

    So we have to pay 4 dollars going on and going out!?? 🤔😐

    • @PhotoLukeHawaii
      @PhotoLukeHawaii  Před 4 lety +1

      Trouble World yes it's $2 person one way on the Pink Line. Unless you're walking this is the most economical way to get around if you don't have a car if you're going to one of the stops on their route. The city bus cost $2.75 one way and you may have to transfer bus to get to where you want to depending no where you are going. If you rent a car here and stay in Waikiki at a hotel you'll have to pay to park your car at the hotel parking lot if they have one and it could be like $30-$40 a night in addition to your hotel fees or you can park outside of Waikiki and walk 10-30 minutes back to the hotel depending on where you park. If you plan on going around this island the car if the best way to do it. You can ride the bus but it takes a long time. You just have to decide what works best for you and what you want to do when you're here. Let me know if you have more questions. Thanks for watching! Aloha =)

    • @PhotoLukeHawaii
      @PhotoLukeHawaii  Před 5 lety +1

      Phantom Thief Irwin aloha =). Thank you very much for watching our videos! I'm glad you liked our Chinatown one, thank you! So as far as safety in Hawaii compared to 10 years ago. The two concerns I have are the growing homeless which include the mentally ill and drug users and growing pedestrian fatalities. The homeless issue concerns me because it doesn't look good but the drug users and mentally ill being out and about on the streets makes it not as safe to use certain public restrooms or to walk by their tents on the sidewalks. The city needs to do a lot more about this especially since there has been some violent incidents. Luckily these incidents usually don't happen where tourist or visitor frequent. The pedestrian fatalities work both ways as I've see pedestrians many times not look and just start crossing the street but, also careless driving, speeding or alcohol are factor to this. Not to scare you though, other than these issues it's pretty safe here. Not as safe as I felt 30-40 years ago but, I feel safe usually. Oh theft of things in the car or if you leave nice things out in public areas unattended. My rule is never leave anything of valuable or that look fancy or valuable in sight in the car. Also, don't leave valuables in public areas and if you have to leave your valuables away from you like when you go to the beach hide it in a bag, or under a towel and don't show it off. When we go to the beach we leave our valuables in our beach bag but, I bring a little bit cash and only my id and phone, car keys. I would be like this anywhere in the US though. I think the only country I would feel more able to be careless is Japan. Thanks for watching! Have a great day! Aloha =)
