Cody, as a woman, I agree that it is patronizing to women to have "special" tools in pink, geared towards my gender. I want quality tools, not gimmicky junk. I think it's more "Chauvinistic" to make these stupid tools that don't hold up. I've seen angry comments here but those who have watched should be able to recognize how much of this was done tongue in cheek. I even saw a comment that mentioned that the common man's toolkit was chauvinistic. I'm srry guys, but that's just silly. The term "man" means more than justmale gender. Don't take the PC thing too far. (Man is an anthropologic term too), so let's all just relax. Thanks for the video Cody, and for your reviews. As a woman, I appreciate the honesty
Actually, for a set of tools that doesn't take up much room and can just be tucked into a cabinet and used for quick little jobs it's quite good. And they aren't cheap, except for the tape measure. Yes, we have contractor grade tools. They live in the basement workshop, and I am quite capable of using them, but I almost never need them. As for the pinkness? A way for everyone to look at a tool and know that it goes with the tools in the kitchen and not in the workshop with the other tools is a good thing. I'm the only female in a houseful of men, and none of them have a problem with using pink tools. It's weird to be patronized by a color.
That's not it. It actually has a switch or something to stop the drill to prevent overheating. It's surprising that a cheap drill actually has that feature. If the battery was low it would just work slower and eventually die. It wouldn't stop and then start back up again. Especially the 10+ times it shut off and started back up.
I’ve got a shop full of power and hand tools and not one of them are pink. I know this is a few years old now, but I agree with your conclusion - no need for pink tools. It does seem rather patronizing, although I’m not one to be offended by such things. I enjoy your channel and appreciate the honest reviews. 🙂
Not for America, the best country in the world, and the only country to have been to the moon, and just a little side note, the US was using the imperial system when they got to the moon
I don't think she would make fun of them... This kit is perfect for women, and if you can't do almost anything household with this you don't know how to use tools. A dewalt drill doesn't make you any better of a craftsman then a pink drill. This isn't a contractor set to build houses....
Jared Triche but why is it perfect for women? Because they don't do the same work as wen with tools? Or because its pink? Either way, pretty sexist comment. Could it do most household small projects? Yea, he even says that but thats not really the issue is it?
@5:40, usually utility knives like these have a built in way of breaking off the blade, by removing the black part at the bottom, there should be a slot where you insert the blade and snap it off safely

I think it is a great kit, specially for those who lives in a smal apartment, and only do smal projects, it is not intended för big work, not even by a long shot! Review it for what it is and not what it could have been.
keith dunham I don't think it is waste of money, yes it is pink but thats not the point, there is people that won't spend 200$ on tools they use once or twice a year. For those a kit for 70$ is perfect and will last many years. They will get a bag that they can put in a closet and will not take more space than it needs. This kit do contain more or less every thing a smal apartment owner needs. Of course it is to cheap and bad for farm work etc. But all people don't work that way.
I've noticed on numerous videos when you are testing drills using the 1" spade bit, you are visibly putting a lot of down force on the bit. What ever happened to let the tool do the job?
your drilling tests are hopeless. You intend every cheap drill to fail and you do everything to achieve this.In this particular test you put way too much weight on the drill. Have you heard about letting tool do the work? To do the work it needs to spin. If you want to kill it it is very likely to happen even with many more expensive tools. I am not a fan of pink, but I think when using power tools you should use your brain sometimes as well. I own few drills, 18V, 12V and even the smallest drill I own (10.8v) could pass this test easily. It just needs angood operator not a snob
You can use the magnet on the level to hang a TV wall mount. My Ryobi bit set came with tiny bits. I've never had a contractor tape go out 10 ft before breaking. Did you charge the battery before using the drill?
I think you hit the nail on the head in the last 60 seconds, it’s a great kit for a Dad to give his daughter to get her interested in tools. They should make a different color set for boys. It’s a great bang for the buck “kitchen drawer” tool kit either way
"we have metric and standard" LoL, metric is the standard. imperial usints are just relics which nobody should use today. it's 2021, and you are still using bodyparts to measure lenght XD. Pound. Currency, mass or force? Volume? Let's take random containers like this pint, that gallon and that barrel over there, and base our system on them. Temperature? Let's take the coldest measured temperature, and the normal human body temp. as 0 and 100. Oops colder temperature occured, turned out that man whose body temp was measured had a slight fever, a much better temperature scale was created? never mind, let's just stick to this. Sorry i just love to rant about imperial system :D it's so bad, compared to metric :D

4:18 you mean standard and imperial right? Metric is the standard
if women ARE heavy industrial steel framing, they probably wouldn't have a drill and tool kit with this level of quality
Man, if only he made a joke about that
If they are, they are more of a man than ill ever be. So respect
I'm a woman and I dun have this rubbish tools!
He got a little off point there. It’s obviously not meant for that.
Yeah, but they were told to comment and be angry because they are whipped. ;)

It is a very pretty pink. :-)

It probably was turning off so often because the battery I'm sure doesn't come fully charged.
Micah Sandford equally it could just be a low amperage battery that cuts out when overloaded
Micah Sandford that's probably correct
That's not it. It actually has a switch or something to stop the drill to prevent overheating. It's surprising that a cheap drill actually has that feature. If the battery was low it would just work slower and eventually die. It wouldn't stop and then start back up again. Especially the 10+ times it shut off and started back up.
Most bog down not turn off and that did not bog down a bit its a starter around the house tool kit
not true at all. my ryobi does the same thing when the battery is low. it just shuts off
I’ve got a shop full of power and hand tools and not one of them are pink. I know this is a few years old now, but I agree with your conclusion - no need for pink tools. It does seem rather patronizing, although I’m not one to be offended by such things. I enjoy your channel and appreciate the honest reviews. 🙂
So it's a deluxe picture hanging kit?
most women would be offended by it being pink.
I would not be offended if they were actually quality tools. It would be one way of keeping my son's hands off my tools!
Are you saying "most women" are emotional and easily offended?

watching this for a second time and i think that drill is stopping on purpose to not break or twist wrists when a drill bit starts to bind up.
It’s a typical protection system that lithium tools have when overloaded or low battery. Wish he would have clarified if he had charged the batteries
I laughed through the whole thing Cody. This was almost like an old school SNL skit.
Why don't you get Mrs. W's perspective on this tool set?
Yes, and what is the largest size drill bit would she really use with this, maybe a 1/2" twist bit (that the motor could handle)
She would make fun of them too, as my woman did. Because she's a real woman.
I don't think she would make fun of them...
This kit is perfect for women, and if you can't do almost anything household with this you don't know how to use tools. A dewalt drill doesn't make you any better of a craftsman then a pink drill.
This isn't a contractor set to build houses....
PREACH !!!!!!
Jared Triche but why is it perfect for women? Because they don't do the same work as wen with tools? Or because its pink? Either way, pretty sexist comment. Could it do most household small projects? Yea, he even says that but thats not really the issue is it?
Lol, I wanted a pink drill so I bought a "regular" drill and painted it pink! 😊💗

@100,000 Subscribers Without A Video Challenge, neither can you. lol.
Your a lady for using a Dewalt
It's a tool kit put together for household use at a price appropriate for household use. Sure, you could get much better tools appropriate for a general construction job site for twice the price. You could also get tools appropriate for the space shuttle at fifty times the price; they aren't going to do the household work any better.
I agree.

You don't like it, but there's nothing wrong with them, right? Fair enough and if it encourages people to buy it, who cares? Though most of my friends wouldn't want a pink set, either. Because most women I know don't actually like pink things.
Why did they make it pink? It's so pointless.
It's supposed to be marketed towards women to get them into buying tools. Not saying its right, it's just what it is.
So, its basically like female razors?
Same reason Dewalt makes theirs yellow. Because it's a color that you can dye plastics in the manufacturing process
My wife keeps some pink tools in her desk. The men never forget to return them.
So EVERY tool ever should just be black?

keith dunham I don't think it is waste of money, yes it is pink but thats not the point, there is people that won't spend 200$ on tools they use once or twice a year.

What ever happened to let the tool do the job?
when you drill into any surface you put pressure on the drill to make progress.

“I’m going to steal this “ is what every man said at some point about another mans tools .
your drilling tests are hopeless.

"we have metric and standard"
LoL, metric is the standard. imperial usints are just relics which nobody should use today. it's 2021, and you are still using bodyparts to measure lenght XD.
