  • It's early in the morning, I've just finished my morning yoga and I thought I would give you a quick tour of my new apartment in Cambridge. I have a wicked tiny room but it's ok, turns out I don't really need much. In this video I also share an update on my recent stab wound, which happened while I was cutting an avocado. I stabbed myself straight through my hand, and healed it the natural way.

I do not live with my parents. Most Americans move out of their parents home around age 18

just because indians would india would sleep 5 in that room shouldn't make you happy... comparing yourself to the bottom shouldn't be the reason for happiness. It's like when Chris Rock said "hey, im a good father... at least I don't hit my kids". lol.
    Aim higher!

That doesn't make me happy, it makes me more appreciative of what I have

Sure, but that means your feelings of content come from people having less. What if no one had less?
So the theory here is if no one had less than you, your happiness according to your logic here would be non existent, which would be selfish. Not saying you are, I think you are a good person... But if you think about it, it is not totally a moral way to think.

You have a very analytical mind. The point of my statement is that my experiences have given me a wider perspective on life that lends to a greater sense of gratitude and appreciation for the blessings I have, which under a different circumstance I may easily take for granted. I do not take them for granted, I know I am fortunate to even have a room to call my own in a world where many people do not have such a freedom/luxury.

Erica Derrickson yes I do, lol. I myself found myself resorting to similar thoughts in my life, and actually felt GUILTY for them. For comparing what I have to those who are less fortunate. I found it a bad thought because I therefore "needed" them to have less than me for me to feel fortunate about the little I do have.
I wouldn't want anyone in the world to be in pain or suffering, so therefore, me feeling greatful for at least not being in THAT spot, means somebody else is.
Just wanted to share my thoughts... maybe something to think upon. It may not be the most positive "feel good" thing to think about... but it is raw and honest. Have a great weekend!
