I swear when they want to get emotional, they get emotional. Krillin's speech after Lazuli/18 reveals that she's pregnant actually made me cry cause I was happy for them.

@@AirierActualy she had to deal with this for seven years because she and Krilin still lived at Roshis House when Goku came back for his one day to fight in the tournament and there daughter was already born .
Krillin, the man is basically useless in the group due to power creep, but in every other aspect his winning in life and deserves it. He still has more firepower than rest of the planet combined (excluding z-fighters and popo.), hot and awesome wife, happy and functional marriage and generally nice friend group. Really all he need is money and he could just ask Bulma for a job.
Plus he's been recognised by the afterlife as among the greatest heroes to ever live and knows he's already earned the deluxe celebrity treatment for eternity.

If I remember correctly the world martial arts tournament takes place every 4 years, so they just missed it.
Now that's just bad timing. Although it would have been funny for Krillin to become the world champ.
It was the one Mr. Satan won due to the fact the gang were all hyperfocused on training for the Androids. I remember them all lamenting on not being able to win the prize money in the Abridged. Nice to see them referencing it here.

@@DemonVermin No, there was a 7 year skip between Cell's death and the Martial Arts tournament at the start of Buu saga. Considering Krillin and 18 have lived at Kame House for three years now, they would have missed the tournament between those two.
@@HORRIOR1 Ya know, I forgot that the 24th was on year 767 and the 25th was on year 774. So does that mean the 24th happened a few months before the Cell Games since the Cell Games were also on year 767? Actually that causes a bit of a plot inconsistency since I remember there being a plot point where the last one til the Cell Games was the 23rd. Ooo I am not as deep as I could be into Dragon Ball to dig through this.
Leave it to TFS to completely subvert expectations in a good way. Also, I’m surprised they got Amber to voice 18 again since she’s busy as a professional VA one of her characters being a god of water
To be fair, the great thing about projects like these is that they're not really on any sort of set timeframe(Though there is a limit because TFS needs to make money, but they could probably have just moved this one back and brought another short forward), and it's probably done from her house on a home setup, so whenever she has the free time, and TFS has the money, they can just get the recording done.

It's great to see how despite this being an abridged series the great writers of TFS can still do the emotional moments really well, whether it be in these DragonShortZs, the HFIL stuff, or the actual abridged series.
Also, I'm surprised no one has made this joke, she put up with Roshi for 3 years before saying they had to move, her patience must be over 9000!!!! LOL.
Also, also, great to see 17 again and him working as a park ranger. And because 18 gave him a Tiger Man named Tony, I think it's only fitting she should also get him a Bear Man named Yogi. XD.
Also a third time, it's weird that only Yamcha came to the party for the Androids. I say came because obviously Roshi, the Turtle, and Oolong all live at Kame House with Krillin and 18 so of course they're going to be at the party, but no one else besides Yamcha came to it. What could everyone have been doing; I mean I know Tien and Chitozu are off-grid at this point in the series and Vegeta obviously wouldn't want to go, but what about Gohan, Piccolo, Chi-Chi, Bulma, and Nappa?

I mentioned this a while ago, but Krillin and Lazuli have the most organically stable relationship out of everyone in the series. I smile to myself when I see them together.

In Dragon Ball when Goku and Krillin trained with Roshi, Launch was with them, so Roshi gave her an “exercise outfit.” And to try and pass that off as true, he gave one to the boys and himself also

With this set up TFS questions there own joke of Bulma telling Vegeta to get a job. Forgetting about being rich enough Vegeta´s resume also won´t get him much.
7:13 extorting Mr Hercule Satan, they did, 18 did exactly that during the Buu saga early tournament that everyone forgets happened as its almost never used in video games or anything else, *much of the Buu saga prior to Evil Buu tends to be skipped heavily in other media*, but at this time 18 was matched up with Hercule and told him he has to pay her double the prize money or she would kick his ass in front of everyone on international television, and also for her to throw the fight. It was a comical moment as his fist landed on her face doing nothing and a second later she leaped back out of bands which forced Hercule to claim it was a new delayed effect punch...and the idiotic crowd believed him.
Yes, Krillin and Goku have backgrounds in agriculture. As part of their training Roshi had them till fields with their bare hands. By the end of his training they were doing entire multiple FIELDS before lunch.
They also did construction. No power tools were allowed, and they still moved faster and did more work than the folks who did it for a living.
This takes place during the time skip so they’re not on good terms with good old Mark as of yet.
You probably remember her name from a previous DragonShortZ video where Krillin took Lazuli out on a date, and he used her name towards the end. I believe abridged also made a reference to it at some point as well.
Also I was curious so I had to double check but according to the DragonBall Wiki (as skeptacle about it as i am):
The tournament originally occurred every five years (which is what i remember from Dragon Ball), which is changed to every three years after the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament. Which i believe was the first tournament Goku entered. So in the abridged timeline they simply kept it at every 5 years for simplicity sake, since the previous tournament must have been held roughly two years before the Cell Games & this takes place 3 years after those games; which would mean there was a tournament held the year prior to the events of the episode.

The tournaments originally were a smaller affair to attract only the world's most dedicated fighters and held once every five years, during Dragon Ball, however by the time of the Cell Saga, Mr Hercule Satan after winning one decided to...sponsor...the tournaments to now happen every year, basically insuring he stays in the public conscious and a celebrity while still in his fighting prime. This also attracted average fighters to the tournaments he could defeat, so fewer of the demons, monsters, and mountain hermit type super fighters showed up anymore as it had gone from a test of their strength to a massive public spectacle *compare the arena set up in DB to DBZ's Buu saga and you see the difference just in that alone*, enough even that Mr Satan could convince people that all those ki techniques and such were fake...which is this whole other thing that bugged me in DBZ because that stuff wasn't rare, their world had magic and monsters and towns attacked by demons and so on, yet the cities seemed to live in their own little worlds and come DBZ the average citizen didn't think it all possible...heck the background character civilians are still like that in Super

Roshi’s only died once upon a time to this point when he used up his life force trying to reseal Demon King Piccolo. He wouldn’t die again until Buu destroys Earth.

In DB, master Kame told Lunch that lingerie was their uniform. So he made goku, krillin and himself wear it to prove. The naive Lunch wore it too because of it.

Like, if it was 5 years gaps before the the 21st when Goku fought (Jecki Chun) Roshi, that makes perfect sence. However, 21st-22nd and 22nd-23rd all had 3 year gaps.
Remember, Goku was 12 dureing the 21st, and then 18 dureing the 23rd when he got that masive groath spert
