You should check/adjust at the same time of day preferably either 1/4 past or 1/4 to a given hour eg adjust 7:15pm one day, check and adjust 7:15pm next day (or next week). This also takes up any slack in the hands to ensure accurate timekeeping. Pendulum clocks will keep time within 15 seconds a week.
First, make sure the clock is level in 2 directions. If it does not run, carefully spray mechanism with Automotive Quick Start which quickly evaporates. No smoking or open flame please. Fully wind clock. Wait 24 hours between adjustment of the Pendulum.
Hi, is there anyone that can help me. my wall clock kinda looks like this but is different in shape and size I tried to get it set up but couldn't because the spinning thing just swings for three mins the just stops. I have no idea why any ideas of why.
What makes the pendulum change pace anyway? Wouldn't the clock be made at 'set' pendulum length indefinitely? What is it that makes it go faster or slower & need adjusting? I have a very old wall RE & just had it restored but can't seem to keep it from going super fast. Advise?
