Step into eighteenth-century England and experience the transformation of one man whose heart-wrenching search for peace haunts him even as he pours himself into a life of service and evangelism. Now, for the first time, Wesley's fascinating spiritual struggle is presented in this award-winning feature film based on John's own private journals. Young John Wesley works hard to earn his own salvation, but still cannot find lasting peace. His headstrong ways and self-righteous attitude brings conflict and rejection wherever he goes. Follow his journey across the stormy seas to the colony of Georgia where he fails as an evangelist, while breaking the heart of the beautiful Sophy. In defeat, the newly humbled Wesley returns to England in search of genuine faith - and the discovery of God's grace.
    Director: John Jackman
Cast: Burgess Jenkins, R Keith Harris, June Lockhart, Kevin McCarthy, CarrieAnn Hunt

I know of a dearly loved old Christian whose heart loved the Lord above all else. He couldn't talk well, but he could grow lovely flowers. In the eyes of the congregation and the Christian world for that matter he never won thousands, nor did he begin a Christian denomination.
He was a simple man and wasn't highly educated, but he transformed the small world of believers who walked past his flower beds that lined the undercover path that led to the church.
The colour and fragrance lifted our hearts to the Lord before worship. The world he changed was very small, possibly just a dozen or maybe twenty brothers and sisters in the Lord .
He never saw that impact, he was just obedient to His Lord's call on His life.
I will never forget Jack, and for all of my life I have used him as an inspiration of obedience to our Lord, even when we don't see the results of that work with our eyes. Royce.

Halfway thru the movie I can relate with him so much. I wish those who went before us would've taught us we don't have to struggle with this. That we can pray in the spirit and holy spirit will pray God's will for us. That in that his specific will for our lives can be implanted in our minds and holy spirit can speak to confirm it and we CAN know his will for our lives. It's not a mystery.

I truly appreciate making of the movie, but isit really true, we humans go to heaven when we die? I believe in scriptures saying in Genesis 3:19:'... until you return to the ground for out of you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return.'

    • @ORSkie
      @ORSkie Před 2 lety +3

Christian souls go to heaven when we die. The body is returned to the earth (ashes to ashes & dust to dust), but it is a mere tent that contains the soul until death.
      2 Corinthians 5:1
"Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is dismantled, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands."
      &
      2 Pet 1:13-14
"I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of my body, because I know that this tent will soon be laid aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. "
Then when Jesus returns, the dead bodies of Christians will be resurrected as perfect bodies & reunited with their souls.
      1 Thess 4:15-17
"By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord."

    • @ORSkie
      @ORSkie Před 2 lety +3

But to be clear, no. Not all people go to heaven. Jesus came to offer salvation but not all partake of it.
Horrifyingly, those who do not repent & turn to Him to be forgiven and receive a new heart through rebirth of their soul, will tragically - but justly - go to hell because "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God", where there will be endless fire and weeping and gnashing of teeth.
      Matt 13:41-43
"The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will weed out of His kingdom every cause of sin and all who practice lawlessness. And they will throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear."
This is why John Wesley and so many other true Christians spent(d) their lives warning of what is to come and sharing the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To try to show those who are perishing that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father but through Him.

      Hello @Suzan Evans
We can see in the Bible, that people do not go to heaven or to hell at death. They don’t go anywhere-but they wait in their graves for the resurrection
“All who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth” (John 5:28, 29).
“David … is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. … For David did not ascend into the heavens” (Acts 2:29, 34).
“If I wait, the grave is mine house” (Job 17:13 KJV).

Christian souls go to Heaven immediately when we die. The unregenerate go to Hades / Hell.
The other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are receiving what our actions deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”
Jesus met with Moses and Elijah, Matt 17:1-3 - long after their physical bodies had died.
God is not the God of the dead, but the living:
"But concerning the dead rising, have you not read about the burning bush in the Book of Moses, how God told him, ‘I *am* the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!” Matt 12:26-27
      Luke 16:19-31
"...The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried, and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side."
David did not 'ascend to the heavens' to sit at the right hand of God - as Jesus did. That verse is not about what happens after death but more explaining what Jesus did. It has to be taken in context.
And when Christ returns, the physical bodies of 'the dead in Christ ' will be resurrected and ascend to meet Him in the air, followed by living believers. But our spirit is immediately with the Lord upon dying.

Do any of you know that Jesus Christ our Lord anointed a man with His Holy Spirit to speak and teach for Him? Yes, Jesus gifted us all His prophet so for those who is seeking the truth learns the truth of what the Holy Word of Lord God really means. Right in this movie you see how the Upper class churches didn't preach the truth to all. That's because most ALL churches had wolves in sheep's clothing deceiving the people of the TRUTH. If you went to church, did your church teach you that we all are fallen angels on this earth? I bet they did not. You know how Jesus said that Satan deceived the whole world? He sure did, well most everyone he did. The mystery of the Holy Bible Jesus had given to His prophet to teach to those who has an ear to hear. There is still time to learn the truth that most all churches kept from the people for centuries. Ask in prayer to our Lord Jesus Christ for what His Word truly means and may He guide you to the truth. Jesus' prophet has been teaching for Jesus for 20 yrs now and of all places on CZcams. The Lord works in mysterious ways and He is Magnificent and the greatest of ALL. When you find the prophet the Lord raised UP for this time we're in you'll learn the most profound truth of the Holy Bible that was kept from most and will drop your jaw and you'll need a spatula to pick your jaw back up. God Bless

Hebrews 4:14-18 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
Galatians 3:15-29 Brethren, I speak in the manner of men: Though it is only a man’s covenant, yet if it is confirmed, no one annuls or adds to it. Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ. And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect. For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator. Now a mediator does not mediate for one only, but God is one. Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring usto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
1 Peter 1:12 To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven-things which angels desire to look into.
It's better to read these chapters in full because scripture tells us otherwise. We are not fallen angels Christ did not die for angels. Were made in the image of God as written in Genesis 1:26-27. Jesus put to death the old sinful man which came from Adam.
Romans 5:12-17 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned- (For until the law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law. Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who had not sinned according to the likeness of the transgression of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the offense. For if by the one man’s offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many. And the gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned. For the judgment which camefrom one offense resulted in condemnation, but the free gift which came from many offenses resultedin justification. For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.)
You're way off, repent and get right with God.

Churches still don't preach tge Truth nowadays, Scriptures never teaches us to celebrate Birthdays, Christmas, Easter, pagan holidays, etc. Only to celebrate Jesus's last supper, tgat is is what He, Jesus, asked and commanded us to do , the night before He died, Luke 22:19..... It is so sad, peopke who truly believe in our Creator, the only true God, don't really get taught what truly is in God's word , the Bible......

@@suzanevans3567 then, as believers it's important to be discerning and read the word for ourselves, and choose a scripturally truthful & accurate faith community with whom to fellowship.
"But you have received the Holy Spirit, and He lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what He teaches is true-it is not a lie. So just as He has taught you, remain in fellowship with Christ." (1 John 2:27)
And, as Wesley demonstrated, sometimes one has to leave a building to find the true church / body of Christ. But there are still some exemplary churches out there. (And several very Godly gifted preachers / teachers online to sit under as well, although that must be supplementary only, as alone it does not meet the fellowship aspect required in Scripture).

Even though historically correct, calling indigenous people savage is so disgusting. Can not watch this.

No,it can't. The only thing that changed the world was the sacrifice made by Yeshuah. Wesley was a sinner saved by grace. he is not a god.
