I snapped my only 3.3mm drill bit for drilling holes for M4 tapping due to chuck wobble. I can't just run out and buy one because they are not a common hardware store item over here. So cranky with Dewalt man.
I just bought mine yesterday and it already has a wobble. ☹️ I don't know if I caused it when I was trying to figure out how to attach a screwdriver bit or what though. Considering returning it now :/ A video on CZcams I used to help me learn how to attach bits uses a method the instructions explicitly warn against doing... but when I was rotating the chuck manually as per the instructions, nothing seemed to happen until I tried as per the video I saw. :/
Mine to. I have no Idea why I didn't returned it 2 years ago. Now I am lookig for Makitas, before I spend more on DeWalt. They are usually very wobbly!
I've had 4 drills and each one has had slight (very slight) chuck wobble, it's a pain. The one I have now is a DCD709-GB XR, is it possible to fix the wobble without replacing the chuck? the drill is basically brand new yet still has a chuck wobble.
@gregroth4696 yes, there is a clutch, make sure that the black collar on the front of the drill is turned so that the little drill symbol is lined up with the arrow on top of the drill just in front of the speed selector switch

I would imagine that the same fix I did for this one would work although I’m not entirely certain since I don’t have that model.
I just brought a second hand drill cheap and it mentioned the chuck is off centre when putting a drill piece into it.. any ideas how to fix
Not sure, it depends what they mean and what kind of drill it is
What kind of grease did you use for the gearbox?
Regular grease but it’s probably best to have a grease that’s specifically for bearings and gears

no chuck wobble but it slips when under pressure
Of you don’t tighten it enough it sometimes does that but it’s never been a problem for me. Thanks for watching!

I don’t think it’s the chuck that’s slipping I think it’s inside the drill. A clutch of some sort?
