About Riverdale:
As a new school year begins, the town of Riverdale is reeling from the recent, tragic death of high school golden boy Jason Blossom - and nothing feels the same. Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) is still the all-American teen, but the summer’s events made him realize that he wants to pursue a career in music and not follow in his dad’s footsteps despite the sudden end of his forbidden relationship with Riverdale’s young music teacher, Ms. Grundy (Sarah Habel). Now Archie has no one to mentor him, certainly not singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), who is only focused on her band, the soon-to-be-world-famous Pussycats. It’s all weighing heavily on Archie’s mind - as is his fractured friendship with budding writer and fellow classmate Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse).
Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) is anxious to see her crush Archie after being away all summer, but she’s not quite ready to reveal her true feelings to him. And Betty’s nerves, which are hardly soothed by her overbearing mother Alice (Mädchen Amick), aren’t the only thing holding her back. When a new student, Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), arrives in town from New York with her mother Hermione (Marisol Nichols), there’s an undeniable spark between Veronica and Archie, even though Veronica doesn’t want to risk her new friendship with Betty by making a play for Archie. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch)... Riverdale’s Queen Bee is happy to stir up trouble amongst Archie, Betty and Veronica, but Cheryl is keeping secrets of her own. What, exactly, is she hiding about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there are dangers in the shadows.

I think this was probably best musical episode yet ! I’m glad picked one that went along with storyline like they always seems do !

"Make Up Your Mind/Catch Me, I'm Falling" is the best song on this album, because they _miraculously_ were able to pull off all of harmonies of the original. The rest of the songs are questionable at best and downright _awful_ at worst.
Do yourselves a favor and listen to the Original Broadway Cast Recording (just have tissues on hand!)

I loved this musical but it was too a really sad one because of Polly. I wish Polly didn't died because then maybe it was a better season 6. The songs we're amazing singed by Lili Reinhart she can sing so beautiful. All my love goes to Lili and Cole, I wish they we're together still and Ari just goes away!

Alright, I have listened to all the songs here now & this is coming from a spectator who can't afford to watch Riverdale (I have seen atleast up to Season 3 but I have some context from people in past comments) & I stumbled on this when checking to see if anyone reviewed the original.
This was going to go very, very bad & that they'd butcher another musical I loved dearly...*Dramatic music*
However I have to say, I think this is the best musical they have done. The lyrical changes/cuts aren't that bad, I think for the narrative they had they still kept some essence of the original that I loved.
I only dislike "Its gonna be good" but I already had a disliking to the original personally (they missed out on the cake scene, which is the best part damnit) & the small lyrical change for "Didn't I see this movie" was jarring but I listened to more & eased, same thing happened with "Make up your mind/Catch me i'm falling" (one of my personal favorite from the original) with the guy's voice having to get some used to.
I hope they do this again in the future (or if they have already I don't know) because I think this formula works better than the monstrosity of that was their Heathers version. That one was hard to sit through.
I still don't understand why they censor the songs yet in the show they are completely graphic & free to swear, that will always boggle my mind.
I respect those who disagree with my review & I thank you for reading this far ^^.
Edit: If you like Dark, psychologically emotional musicals then please go listen to the original Next to Normal.
TLDR:
This was 16x better than their butchered Heathers musical version. Its not that bad & I will give some of these songs a listen again.
Please listen to the original Next to Normal though, its a much more darker experience.

Y’all better go listen to the original cast recording. It’s far superior. I understand they had to cut the songs because time reasons but do yourself a favor and listen to the original

I love this musical so much, but I havent seen Riverdale. Can someone give me context as to why they are singing musicals?
well betty the daughter who sings i miss my mothers line , Sister died and brother in jail so basically they get it done by singing about alice the lady that sang the first lines in the first song is halluncianting from her grief of a happy life when they were all happy and together

They butchered this realistic music. Their vocals are more, “ sound of music, Bring it on…” they don’t have gritty voices for darker musicals. They’re too polished to even hear the emotions.
This is an insult to my ears.
