With due respect sir, currently in acute setting management is rhythm control .. rate control if indicated e g LA dilatation of more than 5cm in echo which itself suggests that it's a chronic setting..

In acute setting,it is usually rate control .rhythm control is indicated if patient is young or if there is hemodynamic compromise
